I had to drive from Fort Lauderdale to WPB to pickup one 6 hurricane panels track because the shipping costs was about $120. Ridiculous.

I almost purchased the Bertha shutter panels from Lowes, as select locations are now carrying this product. They, however, only sell limited sizes and cost more per panel. Hurricane Shutters Wholesale filled my custom order and shipped it directly to my home at a lower cost! I spent lots of time researching various .com providers. Ordered seven clear (acrylic) panels of different sizes to supplement a full set of metal panels so we would have the option to get some natural light. Paid about $120 for shipping. The panels were stacked, wrapped with plastic, and handed to FedEx for shipment. At some point, they were probably dropped on a corner, and the two longest panels cracked. The shipment was left at the door, so I didnt have a chance to inspect and refuse delivery due to damage. Contacted HSW to see what could be done, included photos of the damage (attached), heard nothing back yet (over a month ago).While the rest of the panels arrived intact, I have $170 worth of 93 panels that I wont risk using -- Ill use my existing metal panels and deal with the dark. I have no confidence that if I order more panels they will arrive undamaged, and it is too far to drive to pick them up in person. In my opinion, for that shipping charge, some kind of protection (even a cardboard cap on each end) and/or insurance should be included. I am disappointed because the products appear to be of good quality, but I cant seem to get them delivered in usable condition.UPDATE: HSW made good on their offer to replace the damaged panels. Another pair of clear 93 panels showed up intact, so I now have the full set I wanted. The packaging was the same, but this time they came through okay. Updating to five stars. I almost left it at four, given what it took to get a response and how long it took to get the panels in the end, but with as busy a hurricane season as it has been (and boy, has it), Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and assume theyre swamped. They came through, and Im happy.

I found everyone of the 26 products I needed from the panels to tracks and all the hardware required to do the job at the right price. I found it so helpful that all the calculations for my window openings were predetermined for the correct length of track needed. Then to my surprise I was able to see the price immediately after selecting each itemDuring delivery there was one item missing from my order. I called their customer service and expected trouble trying to prove the missing item. I spoke to Matt who was very personable and understanding. An aluminum panel was mistakenly sent instead of a clear panel of the same size. Matt told me he was terribly sorry this occurred. He told me to just keep the aluminum panel and he would have the missing clear panel delivered immediately. I received the clear panel the following week. Happy customer, thank you Matt.

We ordered panels and hardware for two large patio doors. Everything we ordered was in the shipment and correctly sized and the right number of bolts, anchors, etc. The freight company (shipped to Louisiana) was a bit rough with some of the panels so we notified Matt at HSW and they replaced the damaged panel, so we are very satisfied with the company.

Solid performance, the product was delivered within the estimated lead time and packaged well enough that damage wasnt a worry. I was very happy with the quality of the product given the large difference (far cheaper) in price from a local big box store with the same product. Easy install and peace of mind with the hurricane season ramping up. I should have done this years ago!! Now my family can easily prepare the house for a storm even if Im not there. There was an issue with my order - the headers and footer rails did NOT arrive pre-drilled as ordered (and paid for)! However, Matt Thorens response to resolve these issues was OUTSTANDING. I was initially a little intimidated sizing this project for all of my windows but with Matts technical help and the way in which the website provides all dimensional details on the panels, headers and tracks - in the end I was confident with my order. I had 4 odd windows (decorative stone flush with 4 of my larger front sills) which affected only 4 of 17 build-out tracks and they called me to make sure this wasnt ordered in error. These are good people! Delivery was also very quick in a busy season. Yes - pleasure working with this company hence my 5-star rating. -2nd order - I said if I came up short on panels Id buy the remainder from HSW which I did -came up 4 panels short. Bought H-Header & F-Tracks from HSW but panels used and I cut them. It worked but I was lucky and the cutting was a pain. If I had to do it all over again I would have just as well bought the aluminum panels from HSW as well as the tracks and headers. Anyway - continued pleasure working with HSW. Thank you -Frank

While researching online for sidewalk screws, I found this site that had them. I thought it was extremely helpful that on the same page as the item, it said “you may also need” and it had the anchors, the drill bit, etc. and links to each of those items. I ordered all those things recommended items on Thursday and received everything by Saturday. They are exactly what we needed to get some panels up on windows that never had them. I’ll definitely keep this site on my favorites so I can use them in the future for some other hurricane protection.

This company was pretty awesome for a while. Prices are right and they were helpful. Up until a few weeks ago. I have everything i need to do my install, but i need information to complete paperwork for my permit i need from the city. I have emailed them 4 or 5 times. I tried their internal messaging system, and i have tried calling the number but it just rings and rings.My shutters are useless without the permit to install them. I cant believe they have just seemed to disappear!! I would be glad to change this 1 star rating if I were to hear from them.**UPDATE: After I posted this, I was promptly called, and the simple issue was resolved. Matt provided me with all the needed info via email within monutes. They are understandably busy during the hurricane season. Would have given them a 5 star were it not for the above issue.

HSW has SO many sizes to select from - its simply like you are getting a custom job for your house. As for other hurricane shutter companies, I found that HSW beat them in pricing every single time, usually by at least 10%, often more.Service: You cant beat Matt. Although hes busy and may be hard to catch on your original call, he always responds quickly to your message or email. He reviewed my entire order of 80 panels to ensure I had the correct sizes (I was off on some) and the correct hardware. When I asked him to hold off shipping them for a week longer than their usual fast (1 week in my case) turnaround, it was no problem and the panels were delivered when I needed them. For FL, shipping was free and they used a top tier LTL carrier to deliver them.Quality: All sizes were accurate, properly stamped for the Building Inspector and well-protected when shipped. I had one or 2 of the Lexan panels that seemed to have a keyway slot that was a little short, but a Dremmel tool adjusted that in 2 minutes. All hardware and the driver tool were great. Just plan on taking 30 minutes before you start with a rag and some degreaser to wipe down both sides of each panel to remove any machine oil from the manufacturing process, or your house will have a lot of oily hand-prints when youre done.Overall - you save money, get a custom fit of a high quality shutter, and get great support from Matt. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them and would use them again if I ever needed hurricane shutters.

HSW has contacted me and has shipped the proper panels, all items came in and the order is complete.Just wanted to Thank HSW for making it right, and this may be a learning point for HSW and their Internal Controls.I placed an order for these shutters for my Florida home. The price is better than local HD or Ls, so I chose to purchase, then the communications stopped. The delivery came in damaged, the driver was upset I made him annotate this on the invoice. Then upon taking inventory the order was wrong on 4 line items. I never received all that I ordered, I got pieces I did not order. I have sent emails via their webpage, I have called the phone number, left messages, NOTHING. This is a very poor way to operate a business. It now has been 3 weeks and notta from HSW. I have had to stop payment, this still has not woke up this business to make the order right! I am attaching a picture showing what was received for 8 panels that were supposed to be 80. & came in at 60 and one at 59, no way to even try to make them work! I had to give it 1 star just to be able to post this.I am a business professional, I would gladly retract this review if and when this company wants to make it right!

Easier Than You ThinkIf you can read a measuring tape and drill a hole, you can install your own shutters. H.S.W. has the instructions, and everything you need to do it yourself. H.S.W. has a better selection than my local Lowes at 30% less. Don’t believe your neighbors and friends, when they say you need a special installer. Follow H.S.W. Instructions and you will be at Miami- Dade code, I did, and cut my homeowners insurance in half, plus my home is protected. Fast shipping, and easy to purchase from H.S.W.
