Incredibly rude to customers. I had my car fully serviced a month ago and yesterday the light for low tire pressure went on. I checked them myself with no issue so I wanted them to reset the sensor for me. They wouldn’t let me in the building to ask my question unless I made an appointment and told me i could make an appointment over a week away and it would take a few hrs and cost over $100 to reset the sensor. They then rudely told me I knew nothing about cars. Not the first problem visiting, I will not be returning.
I had the pleasure of working with Conor today. He was up front with me about how crazy the car market is and didn’t pressure me at all. We ended up being able to work something out and I can’t wait to drive my new Subaru at the end of the month! Balise has not taken advantage of the current market and has not increased their prices on new vehicles like almost every other dealer has. I highly recommend Balise and will be a customer for life!

Promised by my salesman, Andrew, a car within a week IF I put money down. No problem, swipe the card. A couple of days later: no such thing as a Forester. They will not be seen for at least 6 weeks. Told him I dont want it. He proceeds to get snappy. Our call drops. He does not return my calls for 6 weeks at which point I still do not have a car or my money. He then tries to convince me that my car is sitting on another car lot with my name on it, but I insist on my money back. Then he tells me that hes having trouble finding the transaction and am I sure that I put money down with him? I wonder just how stupid they think I am? Filed a dispute on the transaction with my credit card company. Let them sort it out. Update: added a star because the sales manager, Scott, handled this quickly-once I thought to get his contact information.
I chose a Forester because they are the only mid size SUV that still comes with manual transmission. I bought a 2014 Forester from another dealer and was sent to Balise in early July 2021 by them to have a rear spring repaired as it was under extended warranty. To be fair, my experience with that was top notch. The assistant service manager Ben Rickard was professional, efficient and courteous.At the time of the spring repair I mentioned to Ben that the car had been consuming oil. He said there was another warranty extension that existed to correct this known manufacturing defect but the car would have to undergo an oil consumption test. They performed an oil change (at my expense) and instructed me to return after I had driven 1200 miles so they could check the oil level. I took a number of long drives dropping off and picking up my son to/from summer camp in Maine. After about 900 miles of driving while about 200 miles from home my oil light came on.I pulled over and called Balise immediately to have them advise me so I wouldn’t mess up their test. The woman I spoke with told me to pull over, wait 20-30 minutes for the car to cool down and add oil as needed. She also instructed me to write the mileage on the oil bottle and bring it with me when I came to have the oil test read. I did as I was told. Upon arriving at Balise, I was told that because the car was bought second hand, was not purchased at Balise and I had added oil, the test needed to be redone. They performed another oil change (at their expense this time) and off I went to drive another 1200 miles. This took longer than before because I have a short commute. I brought it back September 3rd and it failed the test which would’ve made it eligible for the warranty replacement. Shortly afterward I was informed that the warranty had lapsed in mid-august while I was driving through the second test and that they would provide the parts but I would be responsible for the labor to install (aprox. $2500.00).It didn’t seem fair that the car would not be covered because I had to repeat the test because I did WHAT THEY TOLD ME TO DO. I attempted to resolve this with Subaru of America but was stonewalled by them as well. The experience felt shady, like they extended things so they wouldn’t have to honor their warranty. It’s a shame because I like the Forester and will miss driving stick. My plan was to purchase a new Subaru in two years (because theyre the only manual transmission SUV left in the US apparently) when my son starts driving. I hope whatever they saved by denying my warranty claim by the thinnest of technicalities was more than the opportunity cost of losing a potential customer who will vocally share his deeply disappointing experience with Balise and Subaru of America whenever the conversation turns to cars.
Horrible experience at this dealership. I went in trying to get my mom a Subaru Legacy premium because I received a price over the phone for 25,600. I was very specific about what I wanted in terms of color trim features and price. I was told no worries as long as we come into the dealership it was a done deal. The persons name was Jessica Martinez, well surprise she lied or can’t read emails or is clueless. We get to the dealership after driving an hour to get here. Than to be told she meant the base model and now it’s 28k for the car total up charge. Now after waiting over an hour back and forth while stating the price range we want to stay with we left without a deal. They wouldn’t budge on the price and wasted 3 hours of my time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a car and get everything they claim in writing because they will simply lie to get you to the dealership. Beyond aggravated so beware before coming to this place.

I bought a Crosstrek at Balise Subaru in December. It was my first time buying a car and I wasnt sure whether I wanted to go with a new or used vehicle. Conor helped me through the process and made sure I was 100% happy with my decision. Chris in financing was easy to work with, and Jeremy made the insurance process simple and found us a great deal. Yesterday I ended up with a flat tire and the service team was able to replace it quickly and complete my oil change & tire rotation at the same time. As someone who doesnt know much about cars, I trust the team at Balise and 100% feel that they have the best interests of customers in mind with all their recommendations.

Absolutely wonderful experience from the time I called for a test drive up to purchasing my vehicle. I had been to multiple dealerships and Balise by far blew the rest out of the water. Rachel assisted me with my purchase and I couldn’t speak more highly of her. She was very knowledgeable and so laid back, no high pressure sales whatsoever. The test drive was such an easy process, they let me take the vehicle on my own and even allowed me to have my mechanic look at it. The price was beyond fair, the best I had found, and the vehicle was in near perfect shape. I traveled an hour and a half just to look at the car as I’d been to many local dealerships and let me tell you it was absolutely worth it. I couldn’t recommend Balise more, thank you for such a great experience!

Bought this certified preowned outback. In Subarus checklist, it clearly stated that there should be no scratch longer than 1 in, no dent larger than 0.5 in per panel. I trusted them, so did not take close look of the car when bought it. Found dings and scratches all over the place after I got home. Went back to ask them to fix it many times, They first told me I bought the car AS IS, Then got a paint person to tell me that they cant fix it, and finally found a dent repair who turned a dent into a small paint crack. I came back four times waste too much time, they basically did nothing. Its my fault to trust their words and not check the certified preowned car carefully. But still want to give them 1 star review. I like Subaru, but my experience with this dealer is terrible.
My recent experience at Balise Subaru was to lease a 2021forester in place of my current 2019 forester. I am a cancer patient who has had a stem cell transplant with limited contact. The staff could not have been more respectful of my limitations.We communicated by phone,through email and in the parking lot. I can’t thank you enough for making this so easy for me. I moved to Rhode Island from California, it’s my first time living and “adulting” on my own. Connor in sales, Jeremy in insurance, and Lauren in maintenance have of course performed exceptionally in their respective roles, but more than that, they have really helped me adjust from one coast to the other.Conversation fell on my housing plans, they not only stopped me from moving to a bad part of the neighborhood, they provided the contacts of owners for places they have lived in the past to help me out.Even though a week had gone by before I noticed an issue with the driver window, I brought it in and was not charged for any of the three visits it took fix it.Connor specifically stood out in all of the above. Yeah, he sells cars, that’s his day job, but you can tell he genuinely cares more about the people he sells cars too. From when I first walked in, he took into account my situation and didn’t prioritize his commission over my needs. He gave me the lowest price he could, patient with all of my many, novice, questions, and consistent in the follow up to ensure I was satisfied with my new vehicle.They have great people at this dealership. I will always speak highly of the service team but shout out to sales for helping me buy my new car this past weekend! I worked mainly with Joe C. He was more than patient throughout the whole process and always knew when I was getting a little overwhelmed, its a big decision. I never felt pressured and anything I didnt understand was explained in full detail and sometimes twice just to make sure there were no surprises. From sales to setting up payment, and the insurance, they made the whole process as easy as possible!
Henry was very helpful with finding us just what we were looking for. Knew all the answers to the questions we had about the vehicle. I would recommend people stop by and check out the inventory at Balise. Marcus was very quick with getting the paperwork and agreement set up. Great dealership to purchase a vehicle and Joe Cukier is the guy to work with. As a rule, I don’t like sales people but Joe isn’t a typical car salesman. Joe was upfront and honest right from the start and worked hard to get my business and get me the fair deal I was looking for. I reached out to several other dealerships on this purchase and they just didn’t come close to the service or the final price.

Balise had a good deal on a certified pre-owned Outback that was exactly what I was looking for in my next car. The salesman Conor was extremely helpful and the antithesis of the stereotypical salesman. He let the car sell itself. I’m in a wheelchair and he even knew all the steps of getting it customized for me to drive. The title was delayed but when it came in he delivered the car to my house and has since checked in several times to see how I enjoyed the new ride. Great experience all around.

Amazing experience for someone who is a first time car buyer! They let me test drive the car before talking about prices because they wanted to make sure it was something Id like before hand. After we talked about my budget and they did everything they could to try to get it as close to it as they could!They are super kinda and caring there!!!Defently better at explaining everything you need to know about buying a car than some other dealerships I went to before them.
Everything during the initial process was easy and great. It was only until 4 days before my temp registration expired did I have to call and figure out they didnt tell me that there were a few things that had to be done on my end to get the car registered. Even when I asked if there was anything I needed to do, all that was said was just wait for the new registration in the mail. Buyers beware if you are living in CT and are getting your vehicle registered in CT. They did end up letting us use one of their loaner cars, but only after fighting with them tooth and nail to be able to get it. However the service staff was excellent when we dealt with them.

Dealership was clean, fair, and reasonable. Salesman Henry, and Marcus in finance, were straightforward and easy to work with. Prices and service made it worth the 40 minute travel from southeastern CT.Update: Just a few weeks after spending over 15k on a used vehicle the heater is not working properly. Am told it is not covered under their warrantee and it won’t be covered by the dealer. Will see if Sales Manager Scott and General Manager Justin are able to do the right thing and make the repair, which was an issue at the time of purchase but not realized at the time of purchase. Experience has been good thus far and hope it continues and made the drive from CT worthwhile.Will update the outcome...

To start with, when I first walked in I to the showroom the salesman Moises, did not pressure me. He saw me looking at the finest car in the lot and asked me if I wanted to test drive it. I was wearing old clothes looking pretty grungy and there was not a second of judgement unlike the last dealership we had just been to. The process was a little tricky with obtaining the bank loan because I had to prove my employment and wage before we could complete the transaction, but once proven we were out of there in no time with the car we’ve been dreaming to own. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Rachel. We have purchased and leased so many vehicles throughout the years but this was our very best experience. Rachel is so down to earth. Shes not pushy at all. They gave us time to process and decide what we wanted. We have twin babies during a pandemic so being out and around people has been super tough. Rachel helped everything go so smoothly and made us feel comfortable the entire time. She was very patient, kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Anyone else wouldve been annoyed by us having to switch constantly so someone can stay in the car with the babies but she was awesome. I had a million questions between two models and she went above and beyond to answer everything. We dealt with Chris (?) in financing which was also a breath of fresh air. He disinfected everything which put our minds at ease. He explained all of our options in depth. Lastly, Rachel continued to help after the purchase. She wanted to go through all of the options in the vehicle and in the app. She even texted some days later to check on us 💕 spectacular customer service. We will be sure to send everyone to her. What a great experience!
My sales person was Rachel Gilbert. She did a great job, I would recommend asking for her when you so in . Not pushy very informative and friendly demeanor. I asked her about 1 thing as a discount and she came back and said it’s all set. The trade on my car was fair, and the list price of the car was fair . Only reason it’s a four star is just be careful on how they change your numbers around . Tell them your bottom number, and stick to it because it seem to change multiple times ... but they did meet my final price I wanted . That wasn’t Rachel changing things it was her managers ...

The finance team was very patient and understanding and helped me understand the process a bit better than I thought coming in. This past weekend, I upgraded my 2015 Crosstrek to a brand new 2019 Crosstrek. This is my second Crosstrek purchased from Balise Subaru in West Warwick, RI, and both times were great experiences. Scotty Wirta took great care of me on Saturday, and I appreciate his informative, no-pressure approach. Its a good thing when you feel like someone in sales has your best interest in mind. This was our second purchase from Balise Subaru and we were happy from start to finish. We had received a notification from them that our vehicle was eligible for an upgrade which was the first step in good communication and sales. We let them know we were interested (via our maintenance rep who we were seeing that same week) and were subsequently contacted by salesperson, Andrew Tumber. He was very patient from the outset as it took some time to follow through to actually come in to discuss a trade. He was terrific. He listened to what we were looking for in a vehicle, what we were open to spending and financing and when we could not find exactly the same match of vehicle upgrade on the lot, he helped us to think outside the box and get into a larger car (which we actually needed) that was the same age as our trade in (just three years) and in the end it ended up saving us quite a lot of money annually on financing. We are thrilled with the new (old) car. It is in great shape and drives beautifully. We ended up with an upgrade after all and saved a lot of money. The insurance agent there also helped us to change our policy as we realized that we had recently been paying too much for the insurance we had. So, not only did we get a larger upgraded vehicle but we also saved money on financing and insurance to boot! Thank you AGAIN, Balise and especially to Andrew Tumber!
