Came in late one night after being referred to from advanced auto parts. Super late. he was finishing his last car for the night that needed to be done the next day. Short on cash, far from my home town, diagnosed a serious problem that would have had me stuck for a couple of days AND fixed it all in less than 2 hours despite the entire thing being a inconvenient situation all together for both him and I. Definitely worth 5 stars. Genuinely felt like he cared about me getting home safe and was super honest.

We were on vacation in Charlestown, RI (we live in CT). My sons girlfriend drove up in her Audi A3. The next day the EPC light came on and the car was running with greatly diminished power. Not knowing who to call, we looked for a couple of local shops and found South County. It only had a few reviews which were all very good so I decided to call Phil there. He was very pleasant on the phone and said he would be happy to take a look that day and diagnose the problem. We dropped it off and just a few hours later Phil called and told us that an ignition coil was shot. He also told us that since he had the car opened up it actually was overdue for new plugs. He also noticed that the tire pressure light was on and he checked and redid all the tires with the proper pressure. We got the car back the very same day we dropped it off and it is running beautifully. Not only that, but we were pleasantly surprised that the bill was much lower than we were originally expecting. It turns out that Phil is an Audi/BMW master mechanic. It is great to know that there are still honest, reliable and very pleasant people like Phil out there. It certainly help salvage what was a short one week vacation at the beach!

My first experience here was due to proximity but I went back come inspection time based on the service and overall good vibes I was given by Phil. There was opportunity to take advantage of my desperation but they seemed to go out of their way to meet my time restraint and I dont feel they charged me excess. Its refreshing as hell to find a mechanic that wont add left and right for anything they can tack on. They certainly care about customer satisfaction and repeat service.Also kudos to the way they tetris their small parking area to make room when they know youre dropping off.

I heard so many great things about south County Auto. Today was my first visit and I wouldnt take my car anywhere else. They went above and beyond and even shuttled me home for free! Highly recommend.
