Avoid the big box stores and deal direct with the owner and support local business. Max is a great guy and really knows his stuff. His store is also a treasure trove of older computers

Picked up an IBM thinkpad. didnt have an OS. Max fixed me right up. Great shop, great service.

I got locked out of my computer after a Windows 10 update. I called Max and brought my computer to him same day. He diagnosed that the hard drive had crashed. I told him that was that, and that Id need to purchase a new computer and restore my files from my backup sources. Without me asking him to, and without telling me because he didnt want to give me a false sense of hope, he took the initiate to attempt to recover my data from the crashed drive and installed a new hard drive with all my programs and files exactly as they were before for a fraction of the cost of me replacing the whole computer. He charged me just over $200 total and saved me a thousand in having to buy a new computer and many hours of my time in porting data to a new computer, reinstalling programs, etc. I highly recommend Max at Compumax.

Max has taken care of all my companies systems for over 10 years. We take them in a drop them off, He does the updates, cleans up files. Love his customer service and the fact he is a small business like myself. He knows his hardware. I trust him beyond the big box retailer with guys of 6 months exp and egos the size of Jupiter. There is something to be said for an honest work ethic. I read the poor review, where the gentleman said, He felt like he got swindled... I honestly think he was in the wrong shop, or simply was having a bad day.

My compaq laptop was running slowly and freezing up from time to time, especially when I tried running multiple programs at once. I told the guy at compumax the problem and he immediately had several suggestions for me. He ended up cleaning out my computer, clearing unnecessary files and programs, and installing 2GB of additional RAM for a good price. He was knowledgeable, fast, and my computer runs much faster now with no problems.

Great service and very knowledge on computers

Took in my (still working) computer in for an overheating issue. Got it back totally non-functional- told it needed a hard drive replacement. He also kept the CD-Rom that was in the drive when I checked it in. He did give the CD back after we called and has now offered to examine my hard drive for recoverable data. 10/10 customer service, this may have been a bad circumstance.
