Needed a part for my electric dryer so gave Modern Home Services a call to see if they could help me out. The girl that answered the phone was very helpful and the gentleman that waited on me in store knew exactly the problem I was experiencing & was very knowledgeable & friendly. The part was in stock thankfully & reasonably priced.
The two staff members behind the counter were considerably rude. I didnt yet leave the property with my purchase and realized the part was incorrect. They chose to enforce their no return policy on electronic parts. First they said it was a 20% restocking fee and then indicated that the policy is no return on electric items. Totally understandable, but I didnt even make it to my car before I realized my error! Not the way to ensure repeat customers. Very disappointing.

Contacted Modern Home Services on 12/26/18 at approximately 5:30 PM, the answering service had a technician contact me within 10 minutes. The technician from the onset was polite and informative. An appointment was scheduled for the following day. 30 minutes prior to the appointment today, the serviceman Stan called to confirm the appointment and state that he was en route. Stan arrived, assessed my furnace and determined he was able to complete the repair. Stan was extremely communicative during the repair. Lastly, the repair worked and my heat has now returned. Stans work was professional, efficient, and cleanly!
Although Modern Home Services retail space may not feel all too modern, the customer service is fantastic and that is what truly helps get our projects done at the end of the day!They take the time to ensure that they understand the problem your appliance is having, and if its DIY-able they can walk you through step-by-step as to how to fix the various things that could cause that issue. Great customer service, I hope that Modern Home Services will be here for years to come!
Wast of time! I was told someone would be at my house on Thursday between 2:00-4:00. No one every showed up, no one ever called. When I called the office I got no answer. This is the first time I’ve ever given a local business a bad review but people should be warned that this company doesn’t value their customers time.
I highly recommend Modern Home Services for all of your appliance needs. Wonderful customer service, attentiveness, and honesty. They provide competitive sales for over the counter parts for the Do It Yourself person.. definitely reasonable and dependable!
Poor customer service! I was told Thursday ( 4 days earlier ) to expecting Tim between 12 to 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. I received a call from Tim around 1:30 saying he was running late closer to 3-3:30. I called the office at 4:30 to find out he wouldn’t be coming! I took the day off for this, I can’t earn that money back. For your sake I hope this is not typical. I will not be using MHS or recommending them in the future.
This was The worst experience I have had with any company. They sold me the wrong part and when I called and told him it was the wrong part the guy argued with me on the phone and said it was not. I had to buy a new appliance because they were closed and I couldn’t go back. He refused to refund the money even though he sold me the wrong part. In the middle of our conversation he hung up on me and refused to answer the phone when I tried to call back. RIP OFF company with poor customer service. DO NOT BUY from them
