Owner Greg Bernfeld does not stand behind his warranty. He removes parts and fails to reinstall. When asked to correct defective work he gives great resistance to correcting defective work. He says; too busy....try again next week and Ill see if I can repair my defective work.Of course, he was paid in full, so he is in no rush to repair his defective work. Fails to repair work asked of him. He says; Yes, I will repair what is on the punch list. and he returns the vehicle with half of the punch list not repaired. Greg Bernfeld, fails to make repairs in a timely fashion in accordance with his committed date of completion. Dont go to Vautrin Auto Services, Inc., Greg Bernfeld disappoint you. He ought to be pumping gas down the street, instead.

One of the best auto shops out there. Greg is the man. Super nice and is always willing to go out of his way to help. I have a Range Rover and have brought it to the dealership to get different things fixed and they overcharge and do not do as good of a job as Greg does. Highly recommend you go to this mechanic. Greg makes the job clean and simple, great value and fixes the car with no problems afterwards. Dealerships also tend to try and scam you to run up the charges (because all they care about is your money) but this is absolutely not the case with this auto shop. For any problems, questions, or concerns with your car I really recommend you go talk to Greg.

I never write reviews, but this business deserves a WOW for going beyond the everyday expectations of service. Greg and his team have serviced my cars for nearly 15 years. He is a very knowledgeable mechanic. Vautrin’s office manager Denise is patient and thoughtful, scheduling my car to accommodate a breakdown. The team is honest, trustworthy, fair in their pricing and always resourceful in solving problems, even fixing them before they occur. I heartily recommend Greg for consistent and reasonably priced automotive services.

I was recently referred by a coworker of mine; she promised this place was great. Unfortunately, that was anything but the experience I had. I was told I needed a bunch of things replaced after my car was taken for a test drive. I originally brought it in because it had been making these not your normal wear and tear noises. I was told I needed $800 worth of work and it was advised I dont drive around like that as the issue could become worse. So I spent the $800, got my car fixed (the list of things I was told needed to be done) and took my car home. The first problem was I was not notified that my car was all set after being worked on, I had to call the shop twice to find out it was sitting in the parking lot for an entire weekend. The woman who deals with the phone calls and scheduling was very unpleasant and unprofessional. For a new customer, I was shocked how she handled the call. The second problem came not even a week later. My car was making the same noises that I had originally brought it in for. I called Greg and told him I was having a problem and that I couldnt understand why, he said to me he didnt have time to look at it as he was very busy but that he was sure it was normal. So I decided to take it in to a completely different repair shop and get a second opinion. After being charged a $50 diagnostic fee, I was told that I needed the same exact things that I had just spent $800 to have replaced a week prior! I called Greg fuming, explaining what had happened. Again, he had told me he didnt have time to look at it but that I could leave it over a weekend and he would look at then. So once again, I dropped it off only to be told a few things needed to be tightened! The noise went away for about another week only to do the same thing once again. I finally had to pay another shop to replace what I was told was originally replaced. Truly unfortunate that someone would take your money and let you drive around in an unsafe car, after you trusted them to do the right thing. WHAT A SCAM!! I WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE TO THIS PLACE! HE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

Excellent shop. They fixed a misfire that the dealer could not diagnose after several tries. Always thorough, careful diagnosis, with very fair charges for labor.The only drawback is that you need to plan ahead. Theres often a couple of weeks wait for a repair appointment.

It was 2 years before we found Vautrin Auto Service after moving to Westport. We have four cars and were generally unhappy with everyone who had been servicing our cars both in Greenwich and Westport. Then we found Greg at Vautrin Auto. His kind and focused consideration saw all of cars well cared for. Especially for our older model stick shift cars, including our convertible. In an emergency, Greg is fast and responsive. Its an understated facade, no bells or whistles here. But it masks a genuine gem. We are grateful to have someone we trust to turn to.

I never had a good feeling about this place from the start. I know I was given the old you cant drive this car, because its too unsafe excuse because Im a woman, and these guys tried to play off of that in order to get more money from me. They also tried to tell me that aside from needing all new brakes (not just pads like the other mechanics I went to), I was told I needed a complete transmission fluid flush, and basically, if I drove my car off of their lot, it would explode. Not the case. Caveat emptor.

I am so happy to have meet Greg, He has helped me on so many occasions with my cars. A trusted mechanic is a rare find. But dont go there, theyre busy, its hard enough to get my car in there as it is :)

I NEVER write reviews, but I feel I should with this company. I had a problem with a loud noise squeaking from my belt every time I started my car. I took it to 3 shops before Vautrin and the noise would stop for a week, but come back. I took it here and they solved the problem and my car has been running great ever since.
