Best bike shop around! Professional, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Every time I have been there the owner is there! Bought a new Cannondale bike from them. Needed a couple very minor adjustments. The owner took care of it right away when I went back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. They really know how to fit a bike and take the time to be sure you get the right bike for you!
Ordered the bike on Monday. Was estimated the bike would arrive by Friday or next Monday. The bike arrived, was set up, and in my hands on Wednesday! Friendly service as always from Doug and the guys at the shop. I ordered the Cannondale Trail 8 and absolutely love it. Definitely my go to place from now on!
Terrible service and expensive, they dont really fix your bike and always delay a few extra days on returning it back to you. You will find much better and reliable service just a few miles from here in Glen Ellyn or Winfield!
Really easy to work with, came in and got my freewheel replaced after numerous failed attempts by myself. Charged a good price as well. I’ll be back to look around.
I needed a small adjustment on my bike that I could not do myself. I knew that this is a very busy time for them, but nevertheless they did my repair. I am very grateful for their expertise and surpassing kindness.
They are always nice, knowledgeable and all around helpful.
Great service .fair pricing. Recommended for Quick repairs thanks again
Great reviews online however my experience was subpar. Waited in line for 30 minutes just to have a cranky man tell we can’t help you. I get that part because I was looking to repair a fat tire which is not typical in I guess. Looks like their practice is busy so they have no time or place for customer service. I know they could have acquired my needed part. Just an FYI unless u fit the customer profile....ull b disappointed
Great store. They do excellent repairs in a timely manner. We have bought a new bike here and it has been wonderful. Excellent service and helpful and kind. Thank you!!
This is the best bike shop in the suburbs. Ive been taking my bike here for over 12 years. I bought a bike a Dicks Sporting Goods and after multiple trips they couldnt fix it. Those guys are horrible. This was in 2008. They gave me the RUN AROUND and didnt let me know I could replace it with the warranty that I had purchased.I decided to take it to Midwest and the owner, Doug, is a GD magician. Not only did he fix my bike, but he got me a NEW bike through a warranty (around $550!) and I only had to pay a sliver of that.Ive gotten this same bike tuned up multiple times, derailers/spokes fixed, and even pumped up my tires with the air pump outside.I dont know what I will do if this place ever closes! Its worth the trip!
Excellent service for bike repairs, reasonably priced, and, knowledgeable staff.
Excellent service, they will help you out!
Midwest Cyclery helped me out with an honest diagnosis, plenty of support, and succinct bike repair. The cost was fair and affordable, and the work was spectacular. I would recommend Midwest Cyclery to anyone, from professional riders to chumps like myself. Really appreciate the chance to keep riding around.
I recently bought a bike from Midwest Cyclery and the experience was great. They won’t try to push a carbon super-bike on you if that’s not what you need or want. Not only have I been extremely pleased with the bike itself (a Cannondale Quick 7), which is perfect for the type of riding I do, they provided some free maintenance “tweaks” during the break-in period. Since we now live in the era of online-shopping, it is worth mentioning that I paid the same amount I would have paid online, yet by purchasing at a local shop I had a store standing behind my purchase. Overall…a great experience.
Very unfriendly and unhelpful each time Ive called for a simple question.
Ive purchased about 8 bikes from Doug at Midwest over the years. Midwest always delivers honest advice, fair pricing, and excellent service. Whenever people ask me where to go for a rock solid local bike shop, I steer them here.
Bought my son a bike and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. reserved the incoming bike for me and everything was perfect when i picked it up! Free check up in a few months and next year! They were happy to let me ask questions and were patient. Going to start bringing my bike in for maintenance here.
I had a great experience buying my first road bike. The staff was on point, very knowledgable and pleasant to work with. Great prices. I highly recommend checking them out.
Midwest has been great through the years. Weve gotten a lot of bikes from them, and they are always quick and friendly transaction. Service on bikes is good too, usually the turnaround is a short. Lots of styles available, and good biking gear as well.
I went see Doug about a caliper alignment issue and he was very accommodating and treated me with respect like I was a good freind. I will drive the extra distance to support his store from now on. Very Happy
I purchased bicycles here for my kids. Nice Shop. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I will return in the future.
Called to see if they could do a quick spoke replacement this afternoon. Sure, come on in says the service guy. Drive 20 miles, incur tolls, get there in in 30 minutes to be told I would have to leave the bike because they cannot do it today. Knuckleheads.
I received a gift of a Fuji bicycle from this store. Everything including service was top rate. Would not have any problems recommending this to anyone.
Brought my daughters bike in on Sunday and they had it ready today for her.
Great bike shop with great service. I dont go in often, but when I do, Im always satisfied.
Unfriendly staff. Greeted by kid who told me they didnt have bike trailers in the store. I walked back and saw one. I then remarked how expensive it was, and was told that is actually quite cheap. So, I wouldnt recommend this place. Snobbish and they dont rent trailers to hook kids while you ride. Waste of time to go to this place in my opinion.
(Many google reviews are fake, but I am a real person) I had Midwest Cyclery install a bearing race on a fork, an easy job for a real bike mechanic. And they got it on, but they also massively damaged the crown race by hammering directly directly on the machined race (a very serious mistake). I am an experienced bike mechanic and knew this was wrong. I pointed this out to the owner and he just shrugged and said, that it was normal. But, of course, it is NOT normal. Then I had to go and buy a new a crown race at my expense and then went to a truly GREAT bike shop (Prairie Path Cycles in Winfield) to have the damaged crown race removed and then a new one installed. So do yourself a favor and AVOID Midwest Cyclery and their UNACCEPTABLE and sub par so-called service.
Great service. Friendly staff. Walking in is like going to your house. Came in today and bought Cannondale Advature 3 Im super happy with my new bike and the costumer service that I recieved there. Doug was helping me and went extra mile for me and gave me super great deal. Thanks Doug I will definitely shop here again and refer my friends to this bike shop.
Midwest Cylcery really takes the time to find a bike that suits yours need. Im really appreciative of the help!
Im a bike enthusiast and I resistor bikes, when Im in need a apart, tool or advise the staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable.
