It is free to get into this museum. They only suggest to donate $5 per adult if you would like. My kids loved the lower level, which includes a beautifully done railroad exhibit. The detail they put into it is amazing! It must have taken a very long time for them to put that together. There is also a room with toys for kids to play (which the lady in the front desk claims was sanitized). The main and second floor showcased historical items that were geared more towards adults. Overall, this museum was nice. I would take the kids again another time.
Didnt really know what to expect when we went to the museum. Its a nice place. I love the train exhibit. Everything is well marked. Did get to meet one of the employees by the name of Zach. He was great. Really knew what he was talking about And made us feel very welcome. Kind of a small place but very well put together.
Nice staff which welcomed our special needs adult group. We enjoyed our sack lunches in the third floor ballroom.
My family and I like coming to this little museum. It is free but donations are appreciated. They have rotating exhibits so we go 3-5 times a year. It is a beautiful building and the staff is always nice. The train and kid playroom in the basement is my 2 year olds favorite!
I give it a 5/5 star rating because it is always so quiet unless there is lots of little younger kids in the downstairs train play area! I also love this place because the scavenger hunt for the museum book is always so very fun!
So cute that they have a kids area in the basement, the kids always are so excited to see the trains and to play dressup
A unique building with neat exhibits including an operating model railroad layout that displays historic buildings and towns in the western suburbs . A must see for folks living in the area.
The train set in the basement is amazing, it features models of various historical places on the union pacific west line. I liked coming as a kid and now I like to take my own kids. The place enchants the kid in everyone.
I so enjoy volunteering there, and the information shown within the sections of the museum delivers unique insight to the historical past of DuPage County and neighboring areas. Definitely worth a visit or two!
Neat pocket of local history combined with a very neat surprise. The basement has a humongous working miniature trainyard with a small portion of it running and the full thing up and going on a posted schedule, Underappreciated part of the town right next to a great deli
Very interesting history of DuPage County.Historic building and great exhibits. Going back on Train day!
Museum itself is small. There is a fun play room for young children and a model train/town in the basement.
Very small museum. Some Wheaton history. Worth to stop by. Sometimes they organize some activities for kods.
Its a small museum with very good stuffs. Loved the trains and the old cameras wow!
My son love to go there often.
Amazing visit! We loved it! Educational and fun!
Train day on certain Saturdays are a favorite for model train lovers young and old.
Im not a museum fan to start with, but it was decent, fun and free.
Love the trains
Great little museum with 2000 feet of HO model trains downstairs
Five stars to any museum. Preserve history.
In only about an hour you can see many artifacts of the county history that connect well to Illinois and USA events and Patriots. Volunteer run and free admission - but a donation is worth it.
Kids love the trains and play room
