Been here a few times now over the last year. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. Glad I found a place I can rely on to help me keep my gardens healthy and looking great!

Excellent selection of vegetable and herb plants for very competitive prices. Some special indoor plants too. We arrived close to closing time so we limited browsing to only what we needed. I think I could spend hours and a bunch of money there!

My favorite place for all my plant needs. The employees are so knowledgeable. I wanted to purchase a plant that was just not able to survive in the environment I wanted to put it in. Instead of pushing the sale or convincing me to purchase they were very honest and suggested many other options. I also was looking for a rare flower and they were able to suggest much more affordable options that would last longer. I appreciated all of their honesty and knowledge for their products. I cant wait to go back and buy some more ☺️

The inventory is lower than usual because they will be moving up the street soon. Still, I was able to find a tomato bush and 2 perennials AND all outside plants are 25% off and 5 gallon and larger plants are 50% off! Most of the hanging baskets are only $30. I am very glad they will still be around! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful 👍.

I usually find what Im looking for and always pick up something I didnt know existed. The butterfly enclosure is my favorite area. Ive come here a few times just as an excuse to get out of the house during quarantine and safely spend some quiet time in nature. Theres a great selection of any type of plant (including vegetables, fruits, and herbs) to fit varying sun, soil, and moisture conditions. They also carry different types of planters in earth tones, and all sorts of soil, soil amendments, plant food, fertilizer, worm castings, you name it. Prices are higher than big box stores, but the advice and experience in caring for your new plant that the staff is always willing to share is well worth the purchase. I hope theyre able to stay for at least a while longer! Spring is a great time to visit.

Last time we were here there were store closing signs, and were very empty, so we havent been back in a long time. We drove by today and they were obviously open, so we stopped and bought some vegetabe plants. They had a good selection and everything looked healthy and strong. So happy they didnt close after all!

An amazing local greenhouse. Huge selection of hot peppers, tomatoes, and herbs - along with all the normal flowering plants, soils, etc.

I love coming to this Nursery Weekly, even just to walk around. Everyone is welcoming and destress. Of course always purchase a plant. Lots of beautiful assortment of indoor, outdoor plants. As well as many decorations.

This place has been around for years but it looks like the pandemic is taking a toll on it. They have plenty of of awesome plants, flowers and yard decor. The folks are friendly and knowledgeable, I hope you can swing by and support them if youre looking to spruce up your yard 👍🏻

This use to be a great place to shop and to visit/browse. But as the years have gone by, I can only guess that sales have gone down.. leading to less and less money to buy inventory that they can put on the shelves.Inside is huge, but there is no order to it. Old marketing signs still hang (where the merchandise is no longer stocked), old vendor-supplied displays (for product no longer carried), merchandise is spread out and makes the place look like a desperate attempt to look fully stocked.The store needs a major reworking to reorganize and condense the merchandise (to make everything easier to find) and use the old empty shelving as a temporary wall that will condense the sales floor and make Blue Hills feel more like a fully-stocked store rather than a near empty warehouse.

Majority of plants died that I purchased. Poor return policy.

The staff is friendly and helpful. I went looking for a pesticide for my vegetable garden. The man that helped me explained which pesticides were good for the different types of bugs. A little expensive, but well worth it.

Best nursery in SoCal. Lots of stuff nobody else has. If you want a butterfly garden, make this your first stop.

This is by far my most favorite place on Earth!This shop has the most gorgeous plants, the best customer service, and not to mention the cafe they have is AMAZING! I have bought over 5+ plants here and my family keeps coming back. Thank you so much to the people who run this establishment. You do an outstanding job.

Having been in business since 1950, Blue Hills is a Whittier icon. The customer service is awesome, the nursery itself is a great place to just go and visit. They will be sorely missed when they close later on this year.

Variety of plants, pots, waterfalls. Very unique items, plants that you would have difficulty finding at other garden shops. I also found, and purchased N Corinthian Chimes, key E. Best purchase Ive made for myself in years. Even my neighbors come by to see, and touch the chimes. They even have been photographed by family and friends. They are so beautiful and melodic. Attracts birds too. Staff very helpful, knowledgeable. Also send help to load car. Very nice touch. Beautiful nursery.

This place is amazing, they stock some cool plants that you cant find anywhere else.

They have a nice selection of healthy plants. One of the owners greeted us, my mother had a question and he was very helpful in his recommendations.

Initially i went there to get a tomato plant thinking they were open well the nursery closes at five and the deli is open till seven, i was a little hungry so got a hot dog and fries.The dog is a grilled all beef on a toasted bun and the fries are seasoned both very tasty with a classic bottle soda and a classic candy bar for dessert witch they also have. I will be going back to try something else off their menu.P,S. The service was very good!

Very good nursery！ they have the famous rose “the eden” ，bigger and cheaper than that I bought online. I bought three trees this time. And the shop assistant helped me a lot to arrange the trees in the compact car. Thanks！

I have been a customer since 1981 and only shop for nursery items here. I was sad to hear they will be closing in August. Another family owned business goes down.

More expensive but more mature plants than Home Depot and Lowes Unfortunate they are closing st the end of the summer

We have been a customer of Blue Hills for over 10 years, we went in yesterday looking for fruit trees and their selection was huge. The staff was extremely knowledgeable taking the time to explain how to plant and soils to useGoing back today for flowers !
