Not a fan. Took my laptop in, got it back in a week and spent around two hundred. The next day the issue was back so took it back in. After 3 weeks got it back and it worked fine for a couple days then the issue was worse. Sent a text and received a couple responses and then communication ended.

Giving it three stars because Ive worked with Monkey Bytes a few times and theyve been professional, courteous, and skilled in the past. Ive been happy to give them my business. This most recent time, I had a fairly easy ask (update) and it went past the time limit (5-7 business days). I had to be the one to keep up contact just to figure out what was going on. Then I was told to continue communication with text -- I did so and then called them when I didnt hear anything. Was told that they didnt receive a text. Then it took and additional day on top of that. Nearly two weeks for what should have been a week max to do a computer update (that ended up being a simple reinstall). The cherry on top was that the guy I interacted with both times was aloof and condescending. I get that people in the IT industry pride themselves on not liking people, but it was like he wasnt even trying. Im hoping this was a one-off and that things are good in the future.

Left my laptop there and over three days passed before anyone called. Extremely slow service and incredibly rude clerk upon pick up.

I took a pair of Beats headphones to get repaired in August and was told it would be $40 after they fixed them. I would have liked to have known the cost beforehand, but no big deal. The hours that they are open are the times that I work and they are not open during the weekend so I honestly forgot about it and did not pick them up till six months later. A courtesy call to remind me what have been nice but I never received it. When I picked them up I was charged $65 which was $25 more than I was quoted and when I asked why he said he told me he had to replace a part and that they sat at his shop for almost a year. I will never go back.

Took care of my locked up losing data terror! A great guy to do business with and listens to customers close enough to laugh at the right places.

Very good service. I took my computer in because it would not boot up. It had a ton of corruption on it. Matt got it cleaned up and working great. He even put on a free version of Office and Virus protection that he himself uses for no extra charge. Very reasonable and fast.

I finally took back my $500 Mistake. He built me a computer. The hardware is top of the line. The software that he installed never has opened right. He gave me no boot disk. It’s a $500 piece of furniture that basically holds the floor down. My other laptop never did get fixed right either. I have spent about $700 with this guy just to get ripped off. Very Poor business man.

Very nice guys. I need a few minor components (laptop screws) and they didnt have them for sale but helped me search through a bin of loose screws until I found the ones I needed.Overall just had a nice, local, friendly vibe. Would definitely recommend approaching them first with any issues.

I have taken my desk top and my lap top computers to the folks at Monkey Bytes Computer Repair to have some upgrades done and professionally clean the hard drives of any virus’s and malware that most PC users are not able to get off on their own. I feel that they went way beyond the normal to make my computers run faster and better. For the $60.00 they charge for walk in repairs and what little they charged for the extra work that was done, and the time they spent giving me advise, I feel that I got my money’s worth. These folks can be trusted.

I was there when Ashesh took his computer into Monkey Bytes. I loved the service and Chico did everything in his power to work with this customer. He replaced a keyboard and never even turned the computer on. Chico said it was easy enough he only charged this customer half price. Is that service or what? After never turning the computer on and the customer standing right there, the customer said his computer was messed up. Sounds to me like some customer was running a scam. Chico and Monkey Bytes are the best.

I have used Monkey Bites on multiple times now. They do an excellent job of taking care of your laptop/computer. I needed my laptop upgraded before I started my graduate program, and it needed be done by a certain deadline. They had it done when they said they would and they did an excellent job. What I really like about them, as well, if there is a small glitch that still needs fixed after you bring it home, they have no problem following up to fix it while you wait. They are a great place to take your computers!!

Very good experience using Monkey Bytes Computer Repair. The owner and his friendly, honest nature was a nice change from the computer repair place down a few more blocks. We had a laptop needing a software fix after installation of a new hard drive. Monkey Bytes went a step beyond and figured out that the hard drive was defective and installed a new one and fixed the software issues all for a very low price. Much less $$ then the place down the street. An added plus is the great guy who owns the business and his wonderful Welsh Corgis! I trust this business and recommend it.

In September of 2013 I took my laptop to Monkey Bytes after I had experienced some problems. There was a relatively fast turnaround time from when I dropped it off to picking it up; however, when I picked up my laptop something about it seemed off. Fast Forward 8 months later and I finally figured out that my computer had been fixed erroneously. The mistakes they made severely hurt the performance of my computer until a friend helped me amend the problem. My experience makes me question the expertise of whomever worked on my computer and I cannot recommend this business to others.

I absolutely loved the service I got here! I brought in my laptop for a screen issue and they got it back to me in 24 hours and it was super cheap. I also had some other minor hardware issues ( some parts needed to be re-tightened) and they fixed it also with no extra charge. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will come back if I ever have any other issues with my electronics.

Took in an old Gateway Tablet Laptop that I had bought in late 2005. Computer had hardware issues and needed a new motherboard. Monkey Bytes quickly found the new parts required and repaired it. Now, my 2005 laptop works just as well as a new laptop I purchased in the summer of 2012. They charged me a reasonable rate. They are also very friendly and easy to work with. I will use Monkey Byte Computer Repair for all my computer needs from here on out.

Im a retired RVer. Took my old Dell laptop to Monkey Bytes to upgrade the Hard Drive, Prosser and Wireless card. I had already bought the parts. Was charged a flat fee of $69.00 + tax to have the work done. They did a great job on the upgrade. Im very happy with the work they preformed. Laptop works faster and better than when it was new

Took my computer in for a touch screen replacement and they said it would be ready in a week. Since then parts of the touch screen have stopped working. It ended up taking 4 weeks for them to get my laptop back to me. I kept calling over that 4 week period to get a price estimate and they said they would have someone call me back with the price...they never did. Definitely not a good choice for SP repairs.

I took my computer in in July, and they fixed one problem, but caused another. When I took it back in to ask about my DVD drive no longer opening, they looked at it and broke the cover off. They then told me they could fix the problem they created, but it would cost more money. This was July 25th. I conveniently havent heard from them again, so Im using a computer with a broken DVD drive. I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

I had a broken flash drive that had important information on it. He helped me out tremendously. If you dont know any details on fixing a flash drive look it up because it is not easy. He saved all of my info.

My laptop screen got shattered, and, being in college, time was a big issue for me. The first place I went gave me an estimate of 2-4 weeks. I didnt have the kind of time. I found Monkey Bytes online and I was told that they would order the parts and it would take about 3-5 days for them to get there. After the parts arrived, I dropped my laptop off on Saturday and got a call around 2pm on Monday saying it was finished. They even asked if I wanted them to run a virus scan for me before I picked it up. I could not be happier with the service I received at Monkey Bytes! Im sure I will be coming back with any future issues I have with my computer.

The staff was rude to me twice on the phone. It took them a whole week to get rid of the garbage on it. The price for getting rid of said garbage was ridiculous, and its still having the same problems..worse problems actually. Will never go back to this place.

Poor communication and poor attention to detail, but reasonably priced.I brought in a Dell Precision laptop to have diagnosed, because it was un-responsive no matter how I tried to power it on. During the following weeks of the laptop being in their hands, I called to check on their progress but received only minimal information and a promise for a call back that never came. This happened multiple times. After 2 months, and multiple misdiagnoses, they fixed the issue by replacing the entire motherboard.The laptop was a refurb and the motherboard apparently was faulty, so Im glad they were able to discover the root of the issue. The total cost was around $350 (its a high-end laptop), which they had spent much time trying to keep low, to their credit.However, soon after taking the laptop home I noticed that after all of that time and effort they had apparently installed the wrong motherboard in the laptop—one with 1 less USB port in the side! I took it back in and showed Curtis, who only offered to correct it for an additional $60. I opted not to, since 2 months in the shop had been more than long enough for me.Monkey Bytes tried multiple ways to keep the total cost of the repair low, though it seemed to contribute to the extensive time spent. The staff was pleasant to work with, but their attention to detail in the work leaves much to be desired.

They couldnt narrow down to what was wrong with my PC without guessing it might be two things. Which meant I had to buy either one part or another part to determine which part was bad. I could of did that my self.

Their price was the best in wichita. My laptop had a broken power port, and they had it fixed by Monday when I took it in on Friday, If I have more issues with my laptop, I would go there again.

These guys are a mixed bag. First impression is: Yeah, these guys are great, cutting me a deal, giving me free info (most of which you could find with a quick google search). Dig a little more: Bought a custom built computer (Nothing huge 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM Windows 7 Professional), no Windows or Office COA. Okay, little shady, but will let that slide. Whatever software and drivers it takes to run the stupid thing fought with our office programs and our office router, and instead of trying to fix whatever was wonky with their install, their advice was to spend $200 on a new router. Meanwhile we already have 8 laptops and 4 other desktops running Windows 7 with no issues. Figured it was a fluke, give them a second chace (They seemed so nice and friendly!): Family took a desktop with a motherboard going bad for replacement. Begged them just to fix the motherboard, and NOT do ANYTHING to the HDD. Get it back, the HDD was not only formatted, but they had installed a lesser version of the Windows 7 than what we walked in with costing us time and money trying to rebuilt from our previous backup. And apparently installing a new mother board also required a new fan that sounded the equivalent to a jet engine ramping up for flight. They love wowing you on first impression. But when it comes to substance, theyre as clumsy and inept as Ribbit or Computer Depot or Robtronic. This city really doesnt have a fair priced, knowledgeable option anywhere in sight.
