I had the best experience at Jcpenney Optical. The people that work there took their time and explained everything to me in a way that I could understand. The doctor is funny and easy to talk to. I got my glasses back in about 7 days which is quicker than what I had expected. I definitely feel like I got my moneys from this company. I would recommend them to friends and family.

Never open. Go during hours of operation to pick up your glasses or contacts and its a gamble whether or not anyone will be there during their posted hours of operation. Also they overcharged me $125 and had to give a refund. Basically something that should take one trip for an exam and one trip for pickup turns into four or five. Nice people when theyre actually there. However, place is a trash business.

Dont buy any glasses from this place. The quality is the worst I have ever had. I have been wearing glasses all my life. The quality they offer is bad. This was my second pair and I should of known better. The coating wears off after 6 months and by the second yr I can even see with them . Since my script doesnt change I usually have glasses for two to four years. However with JCPs glasses this isnt the case. As I said I have worn glasses my whole life and these are just junk.

I ordered 4 pair of no line bifocals, took forever to get them, ordered in March was still dealing with them in July I never had bifocals before, but I complained vision was distorted, round objects were appearing oval.finally they said it was the frame, I changed frame ( I dont like new frames) still a problem.saw 2 different eye doctors in a 3 week time frame (not their doctor, thank goodness) and had no idea 1 dr. had astigmatism the other not, how was I suppose to know rx was different, they blamed me and said they filled accurately. I said how come I can use over the counter readers with no distortion when they arent specially made for me, they said I dont know, not our problem, nothing we can do. Im out $200, have 4 pair of glasses I cant see out of and they wont give me original frames I chose.I told them I will never be back.I shop JCP every week, I know they arent owned by JCP, but I wouldnt let them use the JCP name with this kind of service.Live and learn, DONT use JCP optical for any reason!!!!I now use 2 pair over counter glasses 1 for reading 1 for driving what a shame!

The last several experiences I have had with JC Penney Optical have been disastrous, so I will be taking my business elsewhere. To sum up my history with JC Penney Optical, I patronized the company when I was living in Florida a couple years ago and really enjoyed the attentiveness and promptness of the transaction. When I moved back to Pennsylvania, I decided to continue my business with the company. Every single time I call, I am unable to connect to an agent at the store (Wilkes Barre, PA location) or reach a voicemail service. In fact, the first time I went to the office, I hit major traffic and called the office about 6 tines to notify them that I would be 5 minutes late. No one answered the phone. When I arrived, the receptionist and the optometrist both rolled their eyes at me and gave me attitude.I later learned that they billed my insurance almost $400 for an eye exam, which I had already paid the $80 total for out of my own pocket. I had to spend more of my time calling Aetna to confirm that they werent paying them twice. $400 for an eye exam? After you tell me it is $80? Doesnt that seen shady? After the eye appointment, I waited for several weeks past the date I was told my contacts would be ready in the summer. I called about twenty five times. No answer. I drove to the store twice. They said they would call me when they were in. For vacation, I did not have the contacts I had expected weeks prior to my departure date, which was disheartening. After several calls to the hotline and emails someone got in touch with me and told me that they didnt carry my prescription and there was nothing they could do. I explained to the supervisor the awful experience I had at that time, and clearly nothing changed.I then took the time to schedule an appointment elsewhere, and in the interim, was called by JC Penney and was told that my contacts (the ones that werent possible to obtain) were ready. So, I then took the time to cancel my appointment at the other optometrists office. After much more difficulty in connecting with the shop, I picked up my trial version from the doctor and waited in the waiting room to order my supply for 45 minutes before telling the associate I was leaving. Not surprisingly, I could not get in touch with the shop again to order or get my prescription information.Months went by after this before I complained again because I undoubtedly knew I would not be helped. Last week, I emailed JC Penney Optical (because no one answers their phone at the office) and received a letter ten days later with my glasses prescription and a post-it note from the shop manager that says my contact prescription is unavailable because it needs to be verified with the doctor. What does that even mean? My prescription isnt in their system? The doctor wasnt available in that week and a half to say, Thats OK?I emailed the contact at the hotline again and said I needed to speak to a regional manager. She said that I needed to call the doctor. Did she not understand that the office does not answer the phone? And they expect me to do all this legwork for $80 worth of services?I am a very reasonable and patient person. I am a former manager from a customer service division of a major corporation and the way this business is run is deplorable! This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. How much of my free time, time from work, gas money, and energy must I spend to get the most rudimentary service?Do yourself a favor: avoid this company like the plague.
