Cooperatively owned grocery store offers outstanding produce, extensive bulk section (& encourages you to fill your own containers), a beautiful selection of delicious cheeses, and ethically-sourced meats. Organic and locally-produced food is the focus but other options are carried as well. Open to members and non-members alike. A Willimantic institution for over 40 years that gives back to the community through events such as the Downtown Country Fair & donations to many organizations.

I love this place, they are well stocked with whatever I need. Great selection of mushrooms! And I love the ‘locally grown’ tags! Really feels like community when choosing how to spend your money! Staff has always been super nice and helpful!

Helpful and pleasant staff. Lots of bulk items not found elsewhere. Weve been members for years; membership entitles you to a discount.

Warm atmosphere, real sense of community that cant be found anywhere else. The co-op is a family. Staff is so helpful and kind. Produce is local, delicious and all organic. They are very accommodating to dietary needs and theres a large variety of foods, natural medicines and supplements. Kids love pushing the kid-sized shopping carts and the fact they can see over the cashier tables. Definitely recommend you come here.

One of my favorite places to shop!A great place to meet friendly people and staff. The staff is always exceptional! They are willing to drop what they are doing to serve your needs. The produce is fresh and often from local farms. There is such a variety of foods, especially for those with special dietary needs such as gluten free, vegan, allergies, etc . A large selection of cheeses and chocolate bars, two of my favorites. Another favorite is a very wide selection of herbs and spices which are very inexpensive compared to those in the most supermarkets. Many Fair Trade items, if you dont know what that is, just ask one of the staff members. I could go on and on. I have been going there and a member for many, many years and it has been exciting to see how it has blossomed and grown. A great Co-operative, please check it out and consider joining. You wont be sorry that you did!

Great place to buy great food! Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff and a clean, organized environment. Good place to look for hard to find organic items and local produce. They even have a little play area in back for the kiddos! Every time we walk in my daughter immediately asks to go play the piano. One of my favorite things is the cooler of premade foods (try the quiche, its amazing!) I dont eat any refined sugar so when Im out running errands its hard to find somewhere to get a quick meal and the co-op is my go to spot for delicious, healthy treats!

Always pleasant - a genuinely good store, doing good for the community while theyre at it! Im a member, and (unlike some co-ops) they really mean it when they say that youre a co-owner.Oh - and lets not forget what they sell. Produce is (as it should be) excellent & local, eggs & dairy are FANTASTIC... and for staples, their bulk section has more than youd think, at prices lower than Id ever expected. Flours of surprising variety, beans & grains of every sort... If youd want it from a grocer, they probably have it, and in high quality.

I love this co-op. You can find some incredible fresh local produce. The coffee is good and they have a decent cheese selection. And nice herb selection too. Dont expect to find much by way of meats here, though.

The bulk dried goods aisle is a good enough reason to shop here. Theres a lot of variety, more than I expected walking in the first time. Its the place to shop in town if youre looking for vegetarian or vegan groceries. They have local produce, kombucha by the keg, fresh roasted coffee, and lots of products made with alternative grains or grain substitutes for those shopping around allergies.

Ive been to many co-ops and this one stands out as a gem. Friendly knowledgeable staff, fresh organic produce and vegetables, wonderful selection of bulk items. The store is super clean and well organized. So grateful for the Willimantic Food Co-Op!

I can most always get whatever I need...and if not, they usually can order it for me.Many local organically grown produce items...wide selection of many bulk staples plus herbs. Great resource..nice people...clean & sanitary environment...local raw milk available...some cheese making supplies...medicinal/herbal pharmaceutical selection is very nice...the products are fresh with good standardized potency.

I haven’t seen another store be so active in the community. I come here for vitamins and every once in a while there’s a function held at the store, so the parking lot is full and families flock. It’s a beautifully warm environment.

I love small businesses such as these. Brings money and support into a community and not big businesses. Great selection of organic healthy foods. I love komboocha by the tap and other bulk items.

Fresh local produce, good selection of the typical organic name brands as well. All in a comfortable neighborhood shop. Seating area for chatting and sharing coffee, too.

Best produce anywhere outside growing your own (and even then...). Always great staff. Great bulk section with top quality consistent product everytime.

I was a child when it opened. people thought it was a hippie store today I bet those people shop there, health is everything you could ask for. look how its grown, nice big store!

A classic food cooperative, combining social justice great products and friendly staff. I especially appreciate that they sell basic food items at cost, you wont find many stores that do that.

Even window shopping is fun. They offer vegan food that actually tastes GOOD.

Friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Been spoiled by having the healthiest groceries and freshest vegetables in my back yard for over 30 years. They always carry most ingredients for all of my unusual recipes. They are a lifesaver!
