We found a vehicle on Car Gurus that linked us to Patterson Auto Sales. I spoke with them sometime after lunch and explained we were an hour and one half away and were super excited to see the car we found online but it would be late before we count get there. Josh Patterson assured me that would be no problem, even on Halloween night!!Arrival was sometime after six p.m. The car (Toyota Sequoia) was just as pictured and we were relieved that the trip was justified. Quick test drive, couple small items and paperwork, of course. Josh was pleasant and knowledgeable. The establishment was clean with plenty of other eye catching vehicles. Well definitely look to Patterson for our next vehicle and can recommend them to all who are asking.

I was interested in a car they had but it was about 600 miles away from where I live. Hesitantly, I called and got a real person right away,. This guy was knowledgeable, patient, and seemed to have a great amount of integrity. I further explained that I might be flying in to pick up the car and it seemed like it was no big deal as if people do that type of thing all the time with them. All of this on my initial call made me feel very comfortable. I ended up flying in to close the deal and the guy came into the airport to greet me! I could not believe it. We continued to their dealership where the car was parked out front, ready for my inspection and test drive. We went for a test drive, did some paperwork, and I was on my way home in about an hour. This was mid august and the car has been flawless since. These guys are the real deal, buy with confidence from near or far. Buyer Beware!! Bought a car from Jay Patterson 4 years ago and had a good experience. So we came back last week when we needed to buy a truck. Jay was away this time and his son Josh was minding the store. We found a truck we liked, that was clean with low miles, was still under warranty and according to Josh, priced 4K below market value, cause they needed to sell it since it had been in their inventory since late last fall. Josh also repeated numerous times the truck had a clean carfax and 1 owner and with 18K miles on it that made sense. We decided to buy it and brought it to our personal mechanic for a check, to which Josh stated well you know the warranty is still good so anything that might go wrong is covered. I replied that we always have our mechanic look at any vehicle we are considering to purchase. Once the truck was looked over the exact words of our mechanic were did you know this truck has been wrecked and the brakes are shot? The front end of the car had been in a very bad accident and sloppy mechanics had tried to put it back together. There were dangling wires, misaligned body parts, wrong replacement parts had been used in the repair and there were missing pieces that were clearly visible once the truck was up on a lift. In reviewing the maintenance records, Patterson had this vehicle since Nov 2018, and it had been serviced at by a local dodge dealer 4 times in the time Patterson owned it. So it is unclear who did the sloppy repair, the previous owner or the local dealer. When we went back to Patterson we relayed this information to Josh, who appeared nonchalant and told him we would take our business elsewhere and left. Josh actually called us after we left to ask for further info about the crash, REALLY? Youre the car salesman, and you cant figure out how to put a truck up on a lift to see for yourself? Typical millennial, gotta spoon feed them everything. Wonder if he told Daddy or not? The truck remained on their website for sale through the weekend. I am concerned they sold it to someone who believed Joshs misleading sales pitch and they have made a big mistake - the factory warranty wont cover a vehicle that was wrecked and a Carfax isnt worth the paper its printed on since there are so many ways to circumvent a carfax report. If someone bought that truck they just bought a bunch of trouble! We have since bought a vehicle that checked out completely and are very happy with our purchase. Our mechanic saved us from making a 30K mistake!! Watch out for this business!!

Great buying experience! They were very friendly & accommodating throughout the whole process. Test drove the vehicle then took it to my local mechanic to have inspected. Came back with a list of items that I would like to have addressed. In the back of my mind I was half expecting the same old treatment where they would talk away most of the list as being insignificant and rig the others that they could fix quickly & cheaply (it was a 7 yr old vehicle with 100k miles), however they fixed everything on my list to my satisfaction. Dont think they ever once asked me about buying any warranties or financing etc. and were patient while I used an out of state credit union for financing (never even asked for a deposit). I would def go back as they made the entire experience a pleasure. Thanks Pattersons!!!

On July 20 i traded my prius for a 2011 Jetta wagon TDI, all the people there were on top of every thing, got ever thing done in a timely manner, i wish they were in Carteret county, ever thing they said in the add was true. Oh yes that was the Friday that it rained so hard you could almost see the road the still went out and changed the tags and every thing, Yes i would buy a car there again!

It seems I had the exact same problem as another lost Patterson client. My father and I were very interested in 07 ford expedition base model. We drove it multiple times and were prepared to buy it. On our last test drive it started making a ticking noise. He told us he would get it fixed. We waited a week for a call and never got one. We resorted to calling the salesman and got some excuse about it not being done yet. Long story short this went on and on back and forth for weeks. I know for a fact that the work had either been finished or not done at all because I saw it on his lot multiple times during that period. We finally gave up due to impatience. Just as another review said, it seemed like he didnt even want to sell us the vehicle. Im confused as to why he wouldnt be motivated to return our calls considering its not a terribly desireable car. It was still sitting on their lot nearly two months later. Completely unprofessional. Their response to the other review concerning this issue was that theyre not a high pressure dealership. While that claim is true, it does not warrant their unprofessional behavior. Be warned. Dont spend weeks waiting for the phone to ring.Response: 2/23/16After reading the dealer reply to the first part of my review I cant help but be upset. First of all since it was deemed appropriate to bring my age into this matter (I am 16), I will say that the fact that a 16 year old even feels the need to write a review for a used car lot says something. Secondly, yes I did prove that you dont use strong arm tactics. In fact it seemed that there were no tactics at all. After leaving multiple messages with the receptionist, there was not one returned phone call in the weeks following our test drive. I should not have to stop in and inquire about the vehicle in order to get your attention. I realize from a business standpoint that responding to negative reviews on google can make you look better, but I would have been a much happier person reading a response that said we are sorry to hear that your experience was not the best that it could have been, and we will definitely take this into consideration than reading this one in which my father and I were blamed for not being more interested.

Bought a 2010 chevy Silverado from these guys. In a months time the tires were almost blown in the front come to find out I got a truck with a broken axel and two busted ball joints called these guys and they did nothing now the truck is sitting cause I cant afford to put tires on it I cant believe what these guys did. Watch out for these guys.

Couple weeks ago i had purchased a used, 2007, vehicle from them with a 1K mile/1month some kind of warranty. After i had purchased it i had noticed that there was an issue with fog lights, 2 days later after i bought it i went back to them and talked to owners son, he said that they cannot do anything about but he will talk to his mechanic if they can help me out and they will call me back. Two weeks later, still no call. In the mean time i had taken that car to the professional dealer for professional check up and they had found couple things that needed immediate attention: broken hose from oil trap to cylinder head and faulty starter. I had broken hose repaired ($299), waiting on starter. So, i went back to them and spoke with a son of the owner, again. He said that they will not reimburse me for anything and will not replace starter. I had asked him if he is willing to have a very unsatisfied customer who spent X amount of money 2 weeks earlier at his place walk out from there over couple hundred dollars, his answer was : YES I AM...so, i just walked away. It takes months to find a customer, seconds to loose one.
