From the first time I walked in the door, they were warm and helpful and obviously love seeing people find a passion for sewing. The owner takes the time to start a conversation. I love this shop.

Mr. Hayes always does a great job of servicing my machine which I purchased there in 2004. This last time in August he did all the regular cleaning and lubricating, etc, but did not charge me because he couldnt get the stitches perfect. I was amazed and so thankful.I do have a complaint however regarding notification from the staff that my machine was ready. I had been told it would take two weeks. I kept waiting to hear that it was ready, but didnt. Because I had seen about 40 or 50 sewing machines lined up in the store when I dropped mine off, I waited until three and a half weeks before calling. The lady I spoke with told me it was ready after 1 week, and that they tried to call but because of a storm couldnt get through. I just couldnt believe that they had not tried to reach me again. I was kept waiting an unnecessary extra 2 1/2 weeks when I really did need my machine.

I just needed to leave a glowing review about Mr. Hayes! I called the shop today because my machine was having tension issues. I explained what problems I was having and asked about bringing it in to be fixed. Mr. Hayes spoke with me over the phone and walked me threw the simple fix that my machine needed. He knew what the problem was right away and how to fix it. I appreciated his help so much and expertise and I will absolutely be bringing my machine here for its regular maintenance!

I went there for the first time today and an so glad I did. The shop is great and the employees are helpful, friendly and very willing to share their knowledge. I struck up conversations with several of them which makes the store seems like a caring, supportive place where the people care about you as well as their products. Thanks for being there!

This is the best place ever to get a Sewing Machine fixed. Mr Hayes does the repairs he has been doing it for over 54 years he sure knows his stuff. They have a wealth of parts for newer and older machines. He will even look at your machine for free, if you bring it in, and give you an idea what is wrong with it and how much it will cost to fix (Almost unheard of-most repair people want to charge just to look at it). The store is neat well stocked with new machines, parts and A great selecion of fabrics for quilters.

They give classes that teach you all the little stitches that your machine will do. They have even helped me repair my machine over the phone.

Wonderful shop and people there! I had a sewing emergency and needed to finish something before I could get my machine repaired. They were so nice as to let me use a machine in the store the day I dropped off my machine for repair so that I could finish a project. You can tell that they actually care about the customers and take pride in everything they sell and offer in the store. Sewing machine repair was quick, and I am already signed up to take a class here because I had such a great experience with the service. Highly recommended!

Our Bernina 350 PE was having issues with the bobbin mechanism. It was a stressful event for my wife (getting the machine serviced) for fear it would never operate like new again. Mr. Hayes assured my wife and expressed confidence the machine would be fine. Our machine was serviced in record time, a part replaced and it operates like new. Maybe even better!! I want to thank Mr. Hayes and staff for the excellent work provided. My wife commented, the store is filled with new and exciting things to sew and quilt. Most importantly, the staff takes the time to talk to their customers and art lost in todays retail businesses. Per my wife - stop by Hayes, you will not be disappointed.

Great little quilt shop. The Hayes family runs the shop; every family member is very friendly and knowledgeable. My mother bought a sewing machine from here and they offered free classes on how to use it, which I thought was very nice! A nice selection of fabrics as well as sewing machines, new and used, and gadgets.

I took my mothers oldest sewing machine there for servicing. They fixed the one issue, a slipping bobin, then created some new issues, by over tightening the thread dispenser. Furthermore, they removed the original, metal, address label plate from where my mother had purchased the machine...and stuck on a cheep paper on e of their own, in its spot. Without bothering to ask if I wanted the old plate removed or not. (It took me a little time to figure that one out.) My mother has been dead for a few years and I moved a couple of times since then. That little piece of history that I grew up with, is now gone forever by someone who didnt care and just wanted to make money, not build trust with a customer. Also, the wait time for the simple tune-up took twice as long as they said it would, and as I found out later, was way over priced for the bother. I felt like my mothers machine did not receive the care and respect that an older machine should have received. Myself included. Such carelessness has turned me off and away from this place. I have no plans to return...for anything!

I am a custom tailor in West Chester, Pa. Over the last thirty years I have purchased a dozen vintage Singer Touch & Sew machine from Mr Hayes. I like the old Touch & Sew machines because they are simple to use. Time is money so stopping to thread bobbins is a time waster for me. The Touch & Sew threads the bobbin right down in its nest below the needle. The machine itself is also easy for me to maintain with a blast in the bobbin nest now and then to get rid of loose pieces of thread. Hats off to Trevor Hayes! He has helped keep my business humming for over 30 years.Jean Swisher, Fabric-Flair Tailoring, West Chester, Pa.

I purchased a babylock sewing machine from Hayes and I’m so happy that I did. It’s a family owned business Mr. Trevor is so nice and his daughters are nice also. If u purchase here they give u free classes on how to operate ur machine I LOVED that, my first class was yesterday with Loretta sp sweet and she is a really good teacher she made sure everyone in the class was comfortable since we all had different machines. So with all that I would HIGHLY recommend if ur looking for a machine this is the place. 💜💜💜

This is the only place I go for sewing materials, machines and advice. I have been a customer for years and purchased at least 7 machines from them. Service is great and so are the classes. My only complaint is that despite spending well over $20,000 on sewing machines and sergers in the last few years and purchasing fabric almost weekly, they do not recognize me as a repeat customer or even know my name. I know that sounds petty, but really, its important. When one offers a local merchant repeat business, its important to have a relationship. They know my name at Stoneybrook, down the road. I bought a machine there about ten years ago, and I think the most expensive thing Ive purchased there since is thread.
