The online photos did not do this board game store justice for the size selection they have, which is very big. This has been the best board game store I’ve been to, we have been to handfuls of board game shops across NC. I would highly recommend this place for any level of board games you play, children, entry level to high difficulty games. Has Warhammer, card, dice and many other accessories. The back has lots of disc golf supplies and next door you can currently reserve a table to rent and play board games, the cafe part seems to be closed.The staff are abundant and knowledgeable, helpful, asks you great probing questions to get a feel for what board game would work for you or what your looking for if you’d like and gives their opinion on their game play experience. The store is well organized by category/style game, clean and well stocked.Husband was able to find a couple new games for two players, one that is new and upcoming in popularity and fairly easy to play, we found a board game that a friend has been searching for a long time and got a couple games as gifts for our friend’s birthday.

Super nice store! Stopped in to pick up some MTG cards. Had a great selection. Wish they had binders or cards we could’ve gone through but other then that great experience. Made a card order in store and got it in less then 5 minutes. Also love the little goblin mascot. Got a sticker, super cute! Also love their dice selection and that you can pick through it!

Amazing game store. They have everything you could possibly want or need as far as board games, strategy games and card games could go. Perfect for gifts or any game lover. They even have a sale section. I could literally spend hours in here just looking at all the different games! A must see for sure.

This was such an awesome stop on our trip !! The store is so well put together and the sheer volume of board games was incredible! It is so much fun searching for that perfect game. By far the best board game shop I have ever been to. I went here because I am visiting from out of town and there aren’t many shops around me so when I travel I always like to check out the local shops. Not only did they have a game I have been looking for over a year, their sales manager Mike took the time to give me recommendations that would fit in perfectly with my group.I also want to make a note that I did walk in about 15 mins before close which I know people are trying to go home and so I was going to be quick, but the made me feel right at home, didn’t rush me and went the extra mile.Prices were more than fair and the selection of games was the largest I have ever seen.

The best Board game and gaming store ever. Try out 100s of games in there board game pub and then go next door and buy the ones you like. Also the staff knows everything there is to know about every board game and card game genre. Very impressed! This has become a destination while on vacation!

This place has an amazing selection and amazing people to help you navigate the treasure trove of games. Michael and Micah helped my wife and I with several great suggestions for new games. We were also able to playtest a game in their side bar area before buying it. Everyone was incredibly nice and we will be coming back again for all our games!

I have been here twice now, and I plan on coming back as often as possible! First of all, the store is amazing and I never knew one place could have so many different and interesting things. Just the contents alone would justify a 5 star review. However, this review is for the awesome people that work there. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do, and they want to make sure every customer finds everything they want every time. Like I said, I have been here twice now, at different times of the day, and have been helped by different employees each time. Both times I felt very welcome, and my excitement from seeing all the awesome games, and puzzles, and art, and statues was only increased when an employee got involved and started explaining different things. Yesterday, I met Dylan who answered all of my questions about a card game that I had started playing. The first time I went, my wife and I were just looking for a new board game to play, and an employee didn’t just ask us what we were looking for, but she asked us what we liked in our games, how creative we liked to get, how long we would want to play for, and other questions like that. Then she directed us to a few games, but we fell in love with the first one she mentioned called Betrayal. Cape Fear Games has exceeded my expectations in every way, and they’re not even fully open yet, as they are doing their best to be conscious of the community’s health. Amazing place and each time I leave, I am immediately excited to go back!

Stopped in today to get some help with MTG. Dylan was there and answered all of my questions, for probably about 30-45 minutes, as I had a ton of questions and am new to the game. He was incredibly knowledgeable and focused on excellent customer service, making sure I had all the answers I needed and even took the time to look up a couple he didnt know off the top of his head. On top of that he was very easy to talk too and made the experience enjoyable. From what he described it sounds like they have a great/friendly community there as well. So Im even more looking forward to my next trip there and maybe now playing a tournament sometime in the future now that I know more about it. Our classroom took a field trip today to Cape Fear Games. We had an AMAZING time and our kiddos cant wait to go back! Heath was great about accommodating all of our wishes (food options, educational games, time frame). The kids pre-ordered lunch before we arrived, and the food was healthy, and they offered gluten free and vegan options. The staff were super friendly and helped our kids learn how to play new games. The kids enjoyed the staff members and said they were a lot of fun to play games with! I felt like a kid again. All in all, it was an amazing trip and I personally cant wait to go back and enjoy a night of game playing with my own friends!

Not seeing this place is a MISTAKE. Best LGS Ive ever been to PERIOD.The perfect business doesnt exist, because people arent perfect. There are bad days and good ones, but the staff at Cape Fear Games will ALWAYS try to help you out. I came to this town wanting to see a cool store. This place isnt just a store, its a community of genuinely good people. Not a soul on staff is a bad person or lazy worker. They want to find the right solution for you and make your day. Even if they dont know the answer off the top of their heads, they will do what they can to help you find what you need. With a crazy large board game, disc golf, miniatures (like 40k) and TCG stock - they have almost everything a nerd could dream of.There is no store in town I recommend more than this place. It is a special, one of a kind experience and I cant wait until Im back in town again to see it!

Let me preface my review by saying I have never been here in person before.I have been searching for a reusable D&D character sheet and I found one on Kickstarter that I really liked. I spent about 3 days searching for anyone who had some in stock. I decided to see if the manufacturer had a list of retailers, which they did. One of them was Cape Fear Games. I reached out and spoke with Daisy who was very polite and pleasant to speak with.I was informed that they did in fact have what I was looking for as well as one of every color. Daisy told me that I would need to order them a special way because they were not listed on their website. This was okay with me because I really wanted these. So she took my information down and said they would be ready to order in the morning. I get off the phone and about 10 minutes later, Daisy calls me back from the store to let me know that they actually have another website that the books I was looking for were listed on. This made life super easy and I ordered them right then and there from my computer.This morning, bright and early, I got an email saying that a shipping label has been created and they were shipped a few hours later. I cant wait to get these reusable character notebooks! If I lived in North Carolina I would definitely stop by regularly for any of my D&D needs. If the rest of the staff is as professional, polite and helpful as Daisy then there is no reason for anything less than a 5 star review.10/10 from Colorado! Awesome place to go to for just about anything. Youre able to rent rooms for whatever needs as well. First time going as the search for pokemon cards lead me here. Wasnt dissatisfied or disappointed. I would however advise looking at prices online and comparing them to their asking prices. They had a couple of box sets/cards that seemed to be over valued but they said were the correct price. All of which could be found cheaper online. But they had what we were looking for and they are very friendly.

Great game shop and cafe! Came in with a local friend with our kids, we got some GF chicken bites and some pizza rolls and played games together. The staff was friendly and welcoming and also clear your tables so you don’t have to while you are playing games and make room for your game play. One young man on staff came and showed our boys how to play one of the games they picked out. They have a very large selection of games to play and try out for free.

My family drove about an hour and we were not disappointed! We spent lots of time here and the neighboring Cafe. Extremely helpful and nice staff. I found it affordable, I was able to get some dice sets that would’ve set me back way more if I were to buy them online.

A great place to get old games through the estate sale

My wife took me here, its AWESOME! They have everything from dice, cards,figures and games! Love this place, wish I lived closer.

Great selection, great people. Its a given that they are all knowledgable/helpful, but the layout and selection is vast, making this a great location for veteran tabletop gamers and new. Be expecting to pay base prices however with sales and deals being rare. Overall, 10 Shiny pieces of paper out of 10!

I love Cape Fear games. Hands down the only place in town that has obscure boards games, cards and disc golf! What a combo. The staff is always helpful and courteous. Our son enjoys Yugi-Oh and Pokémon tournaments they have every week. Looking forward to going back more often after the pandemic ends.

I really like CFG and they are my go to spot for Dnd/tabletop games. I put my rating as 3 because every single time I go and look at dice, employees try to sell me completed unrelated very expensive stuff and it always feels like theyre trying to guilt me into buying. I understand upselling is a thing, but I go to CFG and know what I want to buy. It bothers me that everytime I go in, an employee will interrupt my conversation with the person Im there with and then spends at least 15min telling me about a vaguely related product. Really makes me question going back sometimes.Beware when you go in: if you look excited/interested in anything, employees will grab anything vaguely related to what youre into and try to sell it to you via guilt tripping you. And they do not care that youre having a conversation.

Lost my sons treasured Pokémon binder full of cards he had traded all year during Covid. Didn’t know a thing about Pokémon. Manager gives me a binder of cards (free) out of compassion for my mama guilt, cashiers spent so much time teaching me about Pokémon, one walks to her car outside to give me cards from her personal collection. Needless to say the customer service and care was amazing and the heart and love the staff have for the kids is so genuine and joyful. The selection, cleanliness, organization and location were also top notch. Couldn’t recommend more highly

Love this place! Staff is super helpful in helping you find what you need. They are a bit pricey, but they carry a selection of things like dice, frisbees, and board games that you would have otherwise had to buy online since they are not very common around Wilmington. Sometimes you really need to touch and see with your eyes before buying and other times you just need to browse and find those specialty items that you didnt know you needed.

They are proof that people actually play games offline. Nice helpful staff there to answer any questions..they have a game room in the back where people gather to play card games. People have real person to person social interaction and have fun! I definitely recommend it!

I ordered a very rare card from here. On average I couldve been easily scammed. Instead I recieved my card authentic and not fake within 3 business days, quadruple wrapped. I couldnt wish for better service.This is the store we all hope for and believe in.
