A blast from the past! A hardware store of a type I fondly remember as a kid. Incredible selection of useful things, and helpful people. No need to wear yourself out by wandering in a big box store (and hunting for someone to help you). Chances are this human-sized store has what you need.

I love this store they always have what i need from hard to find to oh thats cute. And the gentleman who rung me up today was so nice to offer me the new layaway plan after the young man who assisted offered me to try and apply for the 💳 cause at 11cents a piece for the 3 washers i needed to finish the fur babies stroller i wasnt sure if i could afford it. Thanks guys i needed that laugh today. You guys are great. I always have a nice experience there.

I was looking for some flanges for a shower and bath faucet that I couldnt find anywhere else including the large hardware stores. I was told to try this store, I have never been there before. Its not as big as the other store, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in service and personality...I observed the young staff helping customers and they were all willing to please and very helpful...They were polite, friendly, they said please, thank you and make me feel like my business was appreciated...I was helped by a fellow called Stefan... He searched and searched for the items I was looking for and wouldnt give up... He went as far as to cut a length of pipe fitting to the perfect size...I will definitely shop there again...

This is a great hardware store - excellent selection including some hard to find things. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Fairfax is my go-to for key copies, they carry a much better assortment of blanks than the box stores.

Personal attention and expertise. Nicely stocked with just what you need, without having to go to the big guys.Many of the staff seem to be the very best that local high-schools have to offer. I really appreciate the effort made to employ these young people. Good on you Fairfax Hardware.

Always friendly and have the things you need

This is hands down the absolute best hardware store for hundreds of miles. Great advice, decades of experience. These guys know thier stuff. They hire local students, and train them really well. The prices are comparable, if not better than the big box junkers.

Fairfax has been the best hardware store Ive been to. Very knowledgeable, polite, and helpful staff, willing to sell you the right product or recommend a place that has it. Will offer thoughts on your project. Variety, quality, and a great credit/refund policy. My only complaint is made with wishful thinking: I wish he had another store, and that it was right near me!!! (But worth the drive)

I needed a replacement head for a watering wand and couldnt find it at the big box home store I stopped at. I called Fairfax expecting they would probably have it. The polite and helpful associate was very helpful. I went to the store with my wand and sure enough they had it and the associate attached it for me and disposed of the broken part. Why throw away a perfectly good item when all it needs is a part? All of the staff at Fairfax are amazingly helpful and polite and they always have what I need. Ive been a customer since 1985 and my experiences are always the same. If they were a little closer to where I live now, they would be my first stop for any and all hardware needs. In this day and age it is so refreshing to have such fantastic and reliable service!

I went to Fairfax hardware to find a older unique tub fixture. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They had the part, and even gave me a mini tutorial on installation. Really enjoyed my experience, and will use in the future. Thanks guys for all your help.

Places like this are almost non existing today. A true gem in the neighborhood. Where else can you walk in and immediately be greeted by how can we help you today? I avoid the big box stores as much as I can to go there. It is worth a couple bucks here and there to be able to find exactly what you want with their help. Please never change!

Ive been coming here over 25 years. They have an amazing selection of products for a relatively small store. The best part is the service. Just tell them what the problem is and they will take you to the product and then explain how to install it. And if they dont have it, they can get it or tell you where to find it. I always start here when Ive got some household item to fix or a lawn/yard problem. Not just best in Delaware but the best in the region.

An incredible hardware shop in a state filled with amazing hardware stores. Very helpful sales people that really can help you, I spent a lot of time going there for parts when I was working for the state parks, they always seemed to have the strange piece of hardware I needed for my projects. It is the hardware store your grandfather would have loved.

Staff is extremely helpful, so much more than the box stores where we had just come from and left because we waited for help that never came.

I like shopping at Fairfax Hardware there are always people to assist. If you have a question the staff actually know the answer. If they are not able to supply what you need they guide you to a place that might have what you are looking for.

GO HERE FIRST!I, too have gone to Fairfax Hardware since the 70s. I will say ditto to the other top reviews.its nice to still have a simple hardware store in town. They always have exactly what I want in a high quality manufacturer. Plus Artie (Arty?) Pleasanton, the owner and all his help are among the best, most knowledgeable and courteous people I have dealt with. I refuse to use any of the discount coupons because I want them to make good money and stay in business here for as long as I live nearby.They always have that odd piece I need for some old faucet or garage door and know what I mean even when I cant describe it well. Sometimes they disappear into their back room and come out - almost like magic - with just the right part.May they live long and prosper.

These peeps are always super helpful. The staff is mostly young high-school age teenagers, dressed in collars and ties. The adult staff are extremely helpful with every home repair project Ive brought to them. They are not shy about recommending specialists when they cant handle something.

These guys are great!!! After numerous trips to a big box hardware outlet, I was directed to Fairfax Hardware to get wall anchors the big boys didnt have. Not only did the nice people here make sure I got the right hardware, they also lent me the tool I needed to to drill into the brick wall for the anchors. Thats right, they lent it to me. They didnt rent it, and they declined my offer of a security deposit. I highly recommend Fairfax Hardware, I have used them from time to time, and I will continue to patronize them.

Its always a great experience coming here and my trips take one 10th the time of going to big blue or orange. They always have an abundance of young teenagers there to show you to the correct isle. And if you need someone with experience, there is always at least one older gentleman around that knows WAY more about the products than the blue or orange people. They have helped me problem solve several home issues with confidence.Despite their small size, Im very impressed with the selection and in some cases they have more than the big box stores. One example is they have a whole tray of loose drill bits. Just buy the one you need and your in and out in 60 seconds and spent less money.Thanks for keeping the ma and pa shops alive!

After going to 2 big box stores and 2 plumbing supply stores in Wilmington, I landed here. What a difference! All I needed were 2 replacement faucet knobs and no one else could help. The gentleman who helped (he is an experienced senior-should have asked his name) spent close to an hour fitting different parts until he got the right fit for us and then instructed us as to how to do the job.
