Waited over two hours for them to tell me they didn’t have the staff that could do my brakes, needless to say I don’t think I will be going back.

My family and I stopped in after experiencing a problem during our road trip. Richard, Johnny, and Amanda were very helpful and knowledgeable. They got us right in and we were back on the road in less than 15 minutes. Everyone was so friendly!

The actual service work seems to be fine, but just a heads up on a few things: If you book online for a 7:30am appt (which it allows you to do) for some reason they dont have service technicians come in til 8am (even though they open at 7am.). Also, be sure to check your invoice BEFORE you pay. I had an oil change coupon for 21.99, but ended up paying much more than that (Yes, I know shop fees, taxes, etc are extra, but it still didnt add up). The woman at the counter seemed very disinterested in my coupon and didnt feel like explaining all charges. My first visit there last time was much better than this time.

Would give NEGATIVE stars if possible. Dropped car off after explaining what was wrong. Called a few days later to check in and see what what going on. Was told they had to order parts. Ok. Waited a few more days. No calls. Called back. Was told “I was out and you will need to talk to my manager” Called again and spoke to the manager, who then informed me that they had no “Technicians able to perform that type of work” need to take it to the dealer for a break light replacement. AFTER my car sat there almost two weeks, AFTER being told they ordered parts, AFTER I had to keep calling to get updates. Pick my car up, the brake light casing is laying in my backseat, low tire pressure lights on.Do not recommend using this place for anything! Save your time. Rude and needs to learn what customer service means.

Have been here twice now and have been pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied on both occasions. Unlike many other automotive care, repair, or service shops and centers I feel and have experienced that National Tire & Battery is not a bunch of crooks that try to sell unnecessary items or invent issues that need repaired. The service people and mechanics are knowledgeable and seem to be efficient in their work. The service people also are knowledgeable as well as friendly and helpful. They give it to you straight and they stand by their word. I had no trouble and no cost for an unexpected but necessary tire repair due to running over a piece of glass somewhere along the way. Would definitely recommend this location to others and will continue to return for my automotive needs.

Appointment by phone, although not necessary, makes the check-in process flow well. I arrived early in the morning to see there were a few others (early birds) before me, with one opening sales associate, Mimi. Mimi was able to quickly and efficiently handle all customers including incoming phone calls. Wow. I was impressed. She is sharp, and coordinates her post very well. The work to my vehicle was completed within a very reasonable time. Im happy, and I noticed those who came and left before me were happy as well. Thanks NTB and thanks Mimi.

I was fortunate to walk in and meet Chris, the store manager. Chris and his staff took such great care of me and my car that I will now not go anywhere else for service. Their customer service is a great example of “going and above and beyond” for the customer. Check with them before going anywhere else.

I was driving 12 hours to my destination in Virginia. I was only 3 hours away when my tire blew. I stopped at 2 different tire shops but they didnt have my tire size. Thank goodness for Mimi! I truly dont know what I would have done without her great customer service. She got me back on the road with no hassle and a great price. The waiting area (and bathroom) was clean, comfortable and socially distanced. I wish I lived closer because NTB-Winchester would service all my vehicles!

My niece came to the store this past Sunday and the manager Caylin was very helpful and honest with her about the issue she was having with her tire, he also got her in last minute, I myself came in today to get my Subaru serviced and they entire staff did a fantastic job. If they say you need new rotors, then please BEWARE! I took the car in to get new tires and was told that my front brake pads were non-existent, it was metal on metal, and the rotors had hot spots and grooves. I asked what hot spots were and was told, Its difficult to explain. The brake work would have cost $700. Fortunately, I questioned the need for new brakes, as I had not even heard any squeaking from them. My husband got a 2nd opinion later that SAME DAY and, yes, our front pads were getting low, but it was not into the rotors. We were able to get pads put on for $150. Those who know how to do this labor yourself would spend about $30.Smaller inconveniences also happened. I made an appointment online, but that only transfers my name and the time. It did not show which tires my husband picked out. I was told, I need to see if we have these tires after I showed my printout. As others have mentioned, there is no AC, so be prepared for very large and noisy fans.My appointment took 2 hours to get the oil changed and 4 new tires. Within that 2 hours, when a new customer arrived, my cars work was stopped and the newer car was worked on. Therefore, I should have been out of there within 45 minutes. Throughout the 2 hours, I asked about the outcome of the alignment check. I never got that answer until the end. And, of course, they said I needed the alignment. By this point, I was not trusting their opinions.When it was finally time to check out, I had to ask for my car to be removed from the bay and for my key. I never had that experience before where I am paying money and the key is not ready to be handed to me. Also, I asked if they had done a test drive with the new tires and the manager told me, Yes. When I asked the mechanic, he said, Im doing it now. I feel that was another instance of dishonesty.The main thing is please be sure you are not spending money for no reason! Rotors are expensive and if you replace the pads when necessary, then you dont need to replace the rotors until they reach the minimum thickness.

This place is the best. A little short staff but they are honest. They do a great job.

1st experience was great, but 2nd visit estimated $700 back breaks work... well come to find out still had half a pad left. So have them prove it before agreeing to ANY work. Hate it, I was hoping for a trusting location.

This was my first time using NTB for.tire rotation and balancing. The service was great! The technician did a great job and talked to me about what he found. I had always had a little vibration in my Ram 2500 above 68 mph. It is gone for the first time since I have owned it. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that NTB and its affiliates honor lifetime balancing at all of its stores!

I made a same day appointment online and received great service. Caylin was very helpful with assisting me. I’ll definitely make this my go to shop.

NTB - Nothing But Professionals - we were driving with kids on a very long road trip when suddenly a car in front of us accidentally blew out a truck tire which bumped into our car. We had to get our car checked as there were rumbling noises.We took the immediate exit and found this NTB, the lady was happy to see our car immediately and said it was some plastic ripped and sticking out. She set it back again and we were on our way again in 15mins. They didn’t even charge!! This is great sincere service, very thankful and appreciative.

Slowest service in the area. I dropped off my car at noon and was told it would be ready in an hour and a half - 6:30 pm pick up without a call from anyone all day! Unbelievably terrible customer service. I had to just show up because they wouldn’t answer the phone. Don’t go!

So ill start off by saying that I have gone ton NTB/Merchants for yrs and have worked at them before. I have never had any issues and customer service has been always great until today. Took my wifes jeep in for routine maintenance (oil change and tire rotation). About an hour in we received a phone call saying that our brake pads and rotors were in dire need of changing and the pads were at 1/32. Was very unexpected but the vehicle has 60k miles on it so it may have been possible. So about an hour later we drove up there to see if it was done (no phone call saying it was ready) and of course it was done. So as we are paying, nothing was mentioned about our brakes, let alone receiving a quote. So on the way home we noticed the infotainment system was messed with and the tire pressure was messed with (not a big deal, but might be for some). So we get home and i check the brake pads with a brake pad inspection tool i got from matco when i used to be a mechanic. Rear brake pads were at 5/32 and the front pads were at 6/32. All within specs for safety. I will admit the rotors do have some grooves and slight rust. As being up north and driving in the snow and off road, the rotors are not gonna be pristine. Maybe this is a one off incident or this is happening to a lot of people. Im leaving this review as to warn people to always get a second quote and not go off of what is initially told to you if it involves a big job like brakes.

I have tried them with several vehicle almost new condition and have never passed without them making repairs. Very questionable practices to get money.

Went in for a Inspection earlier this week and it was very quick and it was worth the price for driving up there.

Was an awesome experience great staff and excellent service.

I had them fix my exhaust a year ago due to the muffler having rusted out. 4 thousand miles later all the work and patches they did on the exhaust system were leaking. During this I saw a very obvious issue of not standing behind their service. They wanted to charge me an additional $210 to rip out what they had damaged and replace it. The man at the front desk finally dropped the price to $160 after I complained about it, saying another place would do the same work for $140. I don’t understand why I wasn’t given the lowest price to begin with. Also he said he was going to check with the store manager about what they could farther due, after I said I was going to pull my car and take it to another shop. 3 days later I still have not received a call from them about wanting to make the situation right. After I took my car to another shop and they replaced the exhaust system for a cheaper price, they told me that the muffler that was installed by NTB was not even the correct muffler for my car and basically it was rigged on there with bad welding and bending of my exhaust pipe. This is not the first time I’ve had issues with them, when they did work on my other car they caused body damage and refused to take responsibility for the problem. I will absolutely never use NTB again nor will I recommend it to anyone. RUN!!!!

Bought off road tires for my truck about 8 months ago. Were supposed to be fantastic. First snow of the season and sliding across the yard I went. Not impressed with the staff knowledge and suggestions.

Our car cut out right when we got into town and we made it to this service center thankfully. Chris Feaster and 3 other friendly mechanics were so understanding and kept us in the loop about why the car cut out. They managed to fix the car up in 30 minutes and sent us on our way. Definitely a great place to go if you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on your car. What a great Sunday

Had new wheels installed tipped the tech and he failed to mention damage he had caused to new wheel, got home and saw damage store ended up buying new wheel and mounting. Terrible technician no morals or standards held, drove truck for first time today other than bringing home, balance is terrible. Will never go to another NTB again. Will be taking truck to different shop for a rebalance. I have been in this industry for over 15 years and never seen such a low bar for work performance. NTB you should be ashamed of the service you pprovide.

Overpriced.I was charged over $150 for an engine diagnostic scan (OEM II) which took less than 30mins to do but I was still charged for an hour of labor.JiffyLube only charges $45 for a scan.AutoZone will do it for free and give you a document with the error code number, what part is needed to fix it, and some common causes of the problem.NTB did not do any of that and still charged me for it.Back story: check engine light came on so I took my car to JiffyLube to have an engine diagnostics OEM scan. They immediately told me to instead go to Autozone because they will do it for free. Very nice of the guys at Jiffy lube!I then drove to AutoZone where they used an OEM scanner and gave me a document with the error code. While I was there I also bought the replacement part.I was going to replace the part myself but I couldn’t find the part to be replace (even after Googling where the location should be). I gave up after an hour of searching and booked an appointment with NTB.I showed up on time, GAVE THEM THE DOCUMENT AND PART I GOT FROM AutoZone and told them“I already got it scanned so here is the error code and replacement part. Tell me if you guys think this the correct error code and replacement part.”I waited an hour for them to even start on my vehicle then once they did they took about 30mins to work then told me it would take 3-4 hours to fix it. It was getting late so I didn’t have the time to wait that day for them to fix it. I told them no not today so wrap up what he was doing because I needed to leave.Well I got my keys back expecting to pay something for their time but not much. $150+ For 30mins of work and less help than someone who did what they did for free..... They never even told me the error code they got just to confirm what I already had.

NTB has always given me great service. I have been going there for a couple years now and have no complaints. Paul Hysell has helped me out a great deal and he always leads me in the right direction. I highly recommend!

I would like to thank our tire guy at NTB tires. Normally we would go for the more expensive SUV tires, but do to the pandemic causing lack of funds, our tire guy recommended an equally safe and inexpensive tire we could afford. They not only did the tire replacement, alignment, and balancing, they also checked the vehicle over and addressed and fixed issues we were experiencing.

Really helped me out of a pickle with my tire on a busy Saturday. NTB on Adams Dr. earned my repeat business. Thanks for picking up the phone!

Failed my car inspection for wiper blades that didnt even need to be replaced and a license plate light that wasnt even necessary. Wanted to charge me an extra $60 for those to be replaced. Fixed myself for $15 and it took 5 minutes.

Customer service at this place was spot on. Was told a quoted time for replacing 4 tires, balanced and aligned and it was completed in that time.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND NTB OF WINCHESTER!!!!I recently purchased 2 full sets of tires from NTB in Winchester, 4 Tires for our Honda CRV & 4 Tires for my Chevy Silverado. Mimi my NTB sales rep was absolutely amazing!! Mimi helped me select the tires I purchased making sure I fully benefited from their buy 3 get one free sale, She was very professional and knowledgeable! Mimi also let me know about the additional road hazard warranty (without being pushy about it) which covers anything that might happen to a tire. I declined the additional protection. 2 weeks later I ran over a hunk of metal that feel off a trailer in front of me on i81 and boom brand new tire was done. I called Mimi at NTB Winchester and she really took care of me! Tire was good as new and back on the truck at no charge and she let me get the road hazard insurance I initially declined!!!! NTB of Winchester really set a new standard in customer care for me and gained a customer for life!!! Thanx Mimi you were wonderful

Mixed bag. They got me good trailer tires and good price on one trip. No complaints there.God new tires for my truck and found one had a leak the next day, on followup visit the very next evening and though they had 30 minutes left of work day, manager said all they could do would be to make an appointment for another day. On a brand new tire that I was having to fill multiple times a day just to get to and from work. Step up the customer service and youll earn that 5 stars again.

My boyfriend went in to have his 1982 Chevy pickup inspected and have a couple things looked at. They failed his inspection. One of the grounds was that he had white bulbs and not amber. Had they actually bothered to flicker the blinker they wouldve seen that the truck had amber bulbs.The blinkers really infuriated us that was pure laziness. When you look through the headlight cover its hard to see the amber but thats why you actually turn the signal on when you do an inspection. When you inspect a vehicle you actually inspect it and not just assume its going to fail.Not mad that the truck failed inspection, it had a couple small holes on the floorboard, ok fine we can fix that. They said the power steering had a leak and my boyfriend asked why a power steering leak on an 82 Chevy would fail inspection if its working at the moment of inspection just fine. The guy said I dont know it could lock up. Not on an 82 model, you can take the belt off and still have the steering drive fine. He went to tell the mechanic that and was rushed out the door. We suspect they were trying to upsell him a power steering job. Maybe if the mechanic took two seconds to explain Virginia power steering inspection rules on 80 model vehicles we would have understood why it failed but he refused to go over anything. The consumer has the right to understand what type of job they might be paying for.Its quite a shame that they acted this way. Weve moved to this area and really want to find a mechanic to help with repairing parts of the truck that require a shop. We would have given them business. If they were uncomfortable with working on an older truck just say so. We have newer vehicles that we would have brought to them if they showed they were honest.

I have an older car. Love that there are always specials of some kind. Chris, Mimi, and the crew here are very knowledgeable about various cars issues. I would recommend this location, as I have been here several times for different issues with my car. I want to keep her running for as long as possible and Chris and family help with that!

I got a rotate and balance done on my truck. They took care if it quickly and it drove well after their work as I had a long trip the next day. I also had them look a an intermittent problem with a front brake caliber getting hung up. They said it was cycling fine and the pads were even. They also gave me pad thicknesses for all four wheels so I felt confident the actually checked them, not like another shop I used.

Arrived at 6:30 on 2/7/2020 to get tires on my truck but they closed at 7, so I wanted to schedule an appointment for the next day but Mimi talk to the techs in the back, Johnny and the manager Chris stayed late to put new tires on my truck. While taking all my info my fiancé stated that I needed brakes and Mimi asked if I had them, I told her no, but I had already bought them but they needed to be picked up at advance auto. She then said they would also put them on for me, and she left the store and went and picked the brakes up for me. Absolutely excellent service and outstanding customer service. I will definitely use again and I recommend if you are looking for tires or other repairs to go to NTB in Winchester, Va.

Good deals on breaks with $50 back.

I went there not long ago maybe two months at the most. And got an oil change and asked them to check my breaks and asked them to top off my fluids. They said my brakes were fine and left my fluids bone dry when I left. I went back the past weekend for them to check my brakes again because I really felt like it was time for new pads and to see why my maintenance light came in because it was not time for an oil change and they tell me I needed all new brakes and rotors!!! Which would be $800+ So everything went bad that fast???!!!?!! I only have a 10 minute commute to work. My car hardly gets driven. I took the car elsewhere and all I needed was new brake pads and possibly new front rotors in the future. They still did check my fluids which is supposed to be given, right? My coolant was completely empty again!!!They never top off fluids and they try to rip you off. Who knows if they even preform oil changes correctly. I was a faithful customer, not anymore.
