The reviews about them are correct. We had multiple people tell us to use them for any type of Jeep upgrades. New tires and rims on lifted jeep. Worked with Jon. Super friendly and informative. Helped us narrow down the huge selection to what we wanted. Schedule within a few weeks. Had them put on within a day. No issue and would be back. Will recommend them to all our Jeep friends.
The team at ORI are rock-stars, we had them outfit our Wrangler JL and we couldnt be happier. They helped me in deciding the perfect mix of parts for my use 70% on-road 30% off-road. We had them do bumpers, a winch, tires, lift, a hitch and some other other mods and everything was perfect, we really couldnt be happier. They kept us up to date with parts and the issues that a pandemic brings with supply, and walked us through all of the work. This will be our go to for any work, from more modifications to regular maintenance. They are awesome, honest, professional and the work is true craftsmanship.
Honestly, this is the best service garage Ive ever been to.. John and his crew go above and beyond with their experience and help you make good decisions. This is not a place looking to make a quick dollar but rather make informed decisions. If anyone has ever been there and waited for John to get off the phone with someone you would realize he takes care of ALL his customers. This is a rare thing now. Great work guys and thank you!
No, I would not return to ORI in the future. No, I would not recommend ORI.No, I would not trust ORI.WHY?$3,000 suspension upgrade:· Reused Old Chassis Leaf Spring Bushings (5th photo).· Reused Strut Mounts and Rubber Pad (3rd & 4th photo).$1,000 Frame Rust Proofing:· Shredded O2 Sensor Cable with Grinder (1st & 2nd photo). Tried Hiding Damage. Would not Accept Responsibility for Replacing Sensor.DETAILS:Took my Tacoma to ORI for a suspension upgrade and frame rust proofing. I live in NVA, a 3-hour round trip drive from ORI. After picking up truck on a Saturday, when shop was closed, got less than a mile down the road when check-engine light came on. Pulled off the road, checked the code, discovered it was downstream oxygen (O2) sensor. After looking under the truck, observed visible signs of damage to sensor cable (1st photo). At that time, could not see the hidden damage until I changed out the sensor. Before rust proofing occurs, a grinder is used to remove surface rust from the frame. When I made my initial assessment, concluded wire had been damaged during the rust proofing process. To avoid another lengthy drive, decided to fix the O2 sensor myself. Considered what happened to be an innocent accident. That was until I replaced O2 sensor. After lifting the carpet to disconnect the O2 sensor, discovered there was no connector at end of the sensors cable, only damaged wires (2nd photo). At this point, I realized the damage was an obvious coverup. Sent ORI email describing what I discovered along with the first photo. I inquired about how they would like to handle this episode. At first, ORI denied it was their fault. ORI tried claiming I ran over something on my way home. When I showed them the second photo, ORI changed their tune. ORI offered to reimburse the cost of the sensor by writing a check, or by performing additional labor. Willing to put more thought into giving ORI a second chance, asked for additional time before deciding. After deciding on a “check,” Chris, the owner told me a check was no longer an option. I would have to bring the truck back and ORI would reimburse me in labor for new work. During our conversation, Chris was dismissive of my concerns. Chris talked over me multiple times during our telephone conversation. Again, Chris implied I was the reason for the damage. If this fiasco wasn’t bad enough, after spending $3,000 on a suspension upgrade, I discovered ORI reused the old strut mounts (3rd & 4th photo) and chassis bussing (5th photo). I was under the impression the work would include new strut mounts. I have an email stating the struts should have arrived preassembled, which means all new parts. ORI never informed me they would be reusing old parts. As the customer, ORI should have called; I should have been consulted on the reuse of old mounts.Chris’s request to reimburse me in labor is poor service and unreasonable. After the experience of having ORI:· Reuse old parts without consulting me.· Dismiss my complaint.· Hide damage they caused. Why would I trust ORI? If I had additional work to be performed, I would have to take a day off from work; they were willing to inconvenience me in this way for a $60 O2 sensor they damaged. Also, why would I trust my truck and safety to a shop that doesn’t accept responsibility for their mistakes, hides damage, and reuses old parts? When it comes to my truck, I want to be involved in the decision-making process. ORI shouldn’t make decisions on reusing parts without my input. ORI blew every opportunity to make this experience better. Why would I return for additional work?
Everybody at the shop is very nice and knowledgeable. I have Jeeps and technicians are always very patient listening to me talking about my plans and give me solid advice for my vehicles. I brought my Jeep in for installation of a SafeTCap frame repair job and they fixed it with great welds and timeliness. I also saw their axle, suspension, and transmission/engine work which is also very good.I am from the DC area and I went all the way out to Winchester to get this work done because the customer service, quality of work, knowledge, and price was incomparable to any off-road shop in the DC area. If you live in the DC area I wouldnt hesitate to make the drive to have work done because ORI will give you better service, work, and price than any shops in the DC area.
They were very helpful, available to answer any questions that I had.
I first brought my 2003 Jeep WJ to ORI several years ago. At the time it had a 4 lift on 32 tires, custom bumpers, stock everything. ORI installed my Clayton 6 long arms, 35 tires, Dana 60, RCV front, air lockers front and rear, air compressor, geared to 456, plus full armor underneath. Jeep ran better at 6 of lift than at 4. Since then I have been back a couple of times, service has always been responsive, professional, and friendly. This is a pretty radical build for an East Coast WJ, ORI did a great job building me a high performing off road vehicle that I can drive everyday.
Went to set up appointment to get gears done in my truck. John and John were incredibly helpful.
I had my 18 Tacoma re-geared to a 5.29 ratio at ORI in May of 2020. Driving down the road a few days ago, my rear differential started grinding ridiculously. I called ORI, explained to them my truck was making a god awful noice and could drive it, they said tow it to the shop and assess what was going on. Come to find out, the pinion separated from the ring gear. They fixed the problem under warranty and refunded me my tow bill to get it to the shop. The guys at ORI are amazing people and will take care of their customers. I recommend them 110%. I will be going back for more upgrades.
This review is a bit dated, but the relevancy is current. Approximately 18 months ago I asked ORI to rebuild a T5 transmission, replace a front axle seal and add a heavy duty steering gear box to a Jeep CJ7. When we initially picked the Jeep up the transmission came apart about two miles from the shop. My steering wheel wasn’t aligned and the interior of the Jeep had grease on the carpet. The transmission came apart so bad the rear wheels locked up. ORI didn’t hesitate to repair the transmission. It took an another 4 months to get the Jeep back. When I got the Jeep back the steering wheel was better, but not like I would have expected, especially since they had the Jeep for 6 months and I spent more than $5k.Now to today....I am pulling the front end apart to upgrade the ball joints and I am appalled at the quality of work done on the Jeep. Trying to remove the Superwinch Hubs, I realized all but three of the small Allen heads were stripped. I had to drill the heads off to remove the hubs. I’ve had to replace the hubs, because you can’t get the new Allen screws. The spindle nuts were mismatched and clearly reused (everything published says, do not reuse spindle nuts). The axle nuts washers were not bent over the axle nuts...the PSC steering gear was only secured to the frame with three of the five bolts(the easiest three to access). The pitman nut was rounded off so bad I had to grind flat spots on it to put a crescent wrench on it to get it off.All in all we spent a lot of money, the Jeep sat in the ORI’s yard for 6 months and the workmanship was very poor quality. The Jeep is a frame off restoration and is in excellent condition. I used ORI because we lived in a townhouse with a small one car garage. I would never recommend ORI for any work I couldn’t thoroughly inspect. It is clear to me they are either very inexperienced mechanics or just don’t care about their work.
Offload innovations completed this AEV build back in 2013. Recently they assisted me with a warranty claim on an AEV wheel which developed a hairline crack. Both OFI & AEV helped in the process to get the wheel replaced under the AEV Lifetime Warranty. If you are building a rock climbing jeep...ORI & AEV is the only way to go. Thanks guys! JLB
If you have an off road vehicle, this is the place to go. John is the greatest. These guys really know their stuff. The work is top notch, the employees know their business. You cant go wrong here. I highly recommend them. Stop by and check them out. The prices are reasonable.
Im going to be honest I took my truck in there to have engine work done wind up having to replace my whole engine they did the work said they knew about diesel engines to come to find out that theyre only a cosmetic Body Shop and they Outsource my work and blamed everything on everybody else not to mention they cut holes in my carpets on my F350 Super Duty to take the cab off when they did the engine work instead of dismantling it properly and when that call them on it my truck was referred to as a POS even though I just dumped $20,000 into it did not get treated very well now when I call I get mad attitude dont really understand it when my clients give me $12,000 in labor Im very appreciative and go out of my way to make them happy I guess thats why we are individuals and we all operate differently an unfortunate result of misinformation do your research before you get work done thats all I can say
My experience was fair and so Ill look elsewhere for work done on my truck
I had some pretty expensive aftermarket bolt in suspension parts from California I wanted installed. I went around to several shops in Winchester. ORI did a very good job at a fair price. Camburg has a book hour time for installation of their parts and ORI installed some other parts in the front suspension at the same time they had the front suspension opened up. I know an ASE Mechanic, who looked at ORIs work and said it looked good. I can recommend ORI for bolt in kit suspension work. I dont have any experience with them beyond that but would consider them for other work as it arises. Recommend you consider them for your truck projects. For those in the Northern Virginia Area I would say it is worth the drive to Winchester.ORI also did a lift of on RV too by replacing the axle with a higher lift angle. The axle was received from Dexter Axle and installed perfectly.Recommend to consider for unique work other than just truck or jeep lifts as well.
Helpful with some questions even though I wasnt making a purchase.
Top QUALITY WORK
These guys are great. I trust few people to work on my truck. And I trust this place. I am picky because most places just dont give you what you pay for. Not only have I always had a good experience here, but many people (including family) I have sent here also let me know they were very happy with the service. Very reasonable prices. And they treat you right and take the time to explain any questions you might have. For these reasons I will keep going back. Well worth the drive for me from West Virginia. I wouldnt go anywhere else to be completely honest.
Knowledge staff and can get the parts you need
Good people, good place, very good work
John and team did a great job with my wife’s Jeep. Quality job, done as promised, professionally. What more can you ask for. Wonder what I’ll have them do next for us? Thanks John!
Knowledgeable staff. I will return.
Highly recommend this shop. I had the rear of my F250 bagged and there was some extra work that needed to be done due to a previous mod to the frame. The professional, knowledgeable staff handled the issue with ease. Great customer service!
Awesome place! Totally professional!
They fixed a vibe issue I had in 2.5 hours after I had taken it to two other shops, and fixed a loose SYE yolk the others missed. Should have came here first. Very friendly guys with a well equipped shop. If you need something done on your offroad rig, this is the place to get it done. They do book up quick so call for an appointment before.
If you have needs or wants for your 4X4 these guys are awesome, I would highly recomend ORI above and beyond compare!
Great customer service and follow up. I had a 4inch lift placed on my 2017 Silverado and since it was new truck, I was concerned, however Chris was very helpful ensuring that the lift kit I selected would be sufficient. 4 inch lift on the truck is prefect and just want i was looking for !!! Definitely will return to add a few more upgrades
Extremely displeased with this experience. Took our XJ crawler there on July 14th. I called them two weeks in advance (have phone records showing a lengthy call so no excuses that it didn’t happen) and they said it would take a couple (couple is two) weeks to look at it and they would get back to us. I also sent an email (documented) with all the details of the gremlins of the build. My husband stopped by the following week to go over the Jeep with them. Once again, they said it should be in soon. Fast forward to today. I shuowed up unannounced and it hasn’t moved. Two flat tires, empty fuel cell (we put SIX gallons in to make sure they could move it as needed- cap was not on properly and cover moved aside), car cover was half off letting rain into the passenger compartment, just a complete lack of care for a customers car. Then I have to ask them to move two vehicles so I can get it loaded on my trailer. They did and they walked away. No offer to spot me onto the trailer, no help with the lack of gas no nothing. They wasted 10 weeks of summer wheeling for us and didn’t even bother to offer 10 minutes of their time. Their Moms must be so proud of their manners. Would not recommend to anyone and well, we get asked for recommendations pretty regularly. Maybe if it was easy bolt on’s it would have been addressed.
Great place and clean and employees are very nice.
Almost anything you can imagine, they can create. These technicians, work miricles with Jeeps and trucks !!!!!! A must to at least visit, and ask what they might be able design for you. With your vehicle !!!They took my 1990 Jeep Wrangler and made it look new again. Reworked my rusty frame. All new body parts, including all the interior. Yep, seats, flooring and some needed new wiring. Thats my testimony !!! ORI to me is the Best !!!
Great place to get some work done on your off road vehicle
I went in the guy behind the counter pulled up my hitch that I had been looking every where for.We went out, looked at the truck he said with out any hesitation we can do it no problem. I have delt with them in the past and have always had good service.
Friendly, professional service at a fair price. Work is top notch.
I had off road innovations regear my toyota differential and about a 2000 miles after they put it together I tore it out of the truck to see how things were wearing and every single ring bolts was hand loose and about have were backed half way out
No better shop around. Honest, knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy. From customer service, to turning wrenches this place is a true class act!
I went in and got my torque converter upgraded for my jeep. I also had another request which was to complete an EGR ddelete kit to be installed. They got everything put in perfectly no problem. It costed more than I hope but understand when you have these guys work on your baby your truck they never fail to deliver theres no nightmare situations you drop her off and she comes back done thats it. Thanks guys for the help.
They did a great job on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Purchased it new, but never really loved the truck until these guys finished with it.
Ive dealt with this place a hand full of times over the past 5 years. Prices have always turned me away usually. Well today I had then balance my tires for $100 (lol) Once I finally got to pick my truck up i realized that on my brand new set of wheels and tires, I had about a four inch mark surrounding the whole center cap exposing bare metal. Long story short, I discussed this with ORI management and they had no idea how it happened and there only solution is to get a black satin paint pen and paint it. I dropped these off in brand new condition and picked them up in damaged condition. Last time Ill deal with these clowns. What a joke.
First rate service, excellent prices. Chris was helpful and couldnt have been nicer to deal with - theyll be getting my business again.
I had just finished my 1999 XJ with a 9 inch long arm lift on 35 tires. I had serious vibrations due to such a tall lift. Talked to several off road shops and was being told that the lift was to much and that there was no way to get the driveline vibrations out. I was referred to ORi by a friend of mine. Called and talked to John and he told me to bring it in and let them look at it. After looking at it John told me what they where going to do to correct the issues. I just picked up my Jeep and drove away and drives as nice as I could every imagine. John, Chris and crew where awesome!!! These guys know there stuff. Thanks again to all of youScott Riley
Worth traveling from McLean for excellent service and work. The team at ORI is very knowledgable and has extensive experience on all types of 4x4s. I have been extremely happy with their services and would recommend to anyone I know who needs help with suspension installs. Please take the time to call ORI for any related questions. They will have the answers as they did for me and made me incredibly comfortable knowing that I was getting first rate service. I am beyond thrilled with how well their parts are performing. My jeep feels brand new and the Procal is a great touch.Like I said, I would highly recommend ORI.
Very helpful and honest about things. Not just trying to make a quick sale.
Overpriced please check OEM new before you get a driveshaft repaired here
John and Chris are great guys and can fix, modify or restore what ever you drive .
They were straight up with the recommendations. Can I ask for any more than that. Although I didnt have work perform there, they seem to be very professional.
Response to ownerU told me I pay in full to have the drive shaft done again when I told u wat I wanted it at so on my dime no I should not be u did not want to work with me and there is a sign in there parts and labor one year warranty right
Very pleasant
