Have you ever wondered what makes someone get a tattoo? What about the pain and the lifelong commitment? I did. But then I wanted to memorialize my dog and I felt a tattoo would be a good way to do it. I scoured the internet for a quality shop. I asked people with tattoos for shop recommendations. I ended up finding Art Attack on my own. I liked the clever name, the look of the shop was clean, modern and not scary and they had mostly good reviews. The complaint reviews were handled well. I emailed them with a jillion questions. They suggested I come in, talk with them, look around and if I was still interested I could make an appointment. My husband, the most supportive man I’ve ever known, went with me. We went on Thursday, April Fool’s Day. No, that wasn’t lost on me but I chose to view it as ironic and funny. The shop was clean and decorated nicely. I especially liked the NO CHILDREN sign because who wants a screaming child startling your tattoo artist?! Kaylie came out and I explained what I was looking for and showed her my drawing. She was very sweet and told me she’d be happy to help and gave me the price of $80.00. She had an opening and I took it. I had no clue as to the process. She took my idea and made a computer drawing for me to review. I tweaked it a little, she revised it and I loved it, so she made a stencil. She took me back to her studio which was bright, airy and neatly organized. The tattoo needle head was hermetically sealed and she opened it in front of me. She explained what she would be doing then cleaned and shaved my arm then cleaned it again. She applied the stencil where I thought I wanted it. She told me to get up and look in the full length mirror to make sure. I decided to move it to the underside, center of my forearm. I asked her to start with the dot and the E (Dottie) just in case I couldn’t take it. Honestly, I’ve had wasp stings that hurt worse so I told her to keep going and I’m so glad I did! She applied Saniderm tape and explained how to take care of it. I purchased their $10 care pack that included a small bottle of liquid soap (smelled like Dial), 6 packets of Aquaphor and a tiny bottle of Lubriderm lotion. I chose to use my own Provon soap that I ordered from Amazon. My tattoo never went thru a messy stage and there was no scabbing or itchiness. My only suggestion for Art Attack is for them to update their website to show their new aftercare guidelines and they do not sell After Inked products so I’m not sure why they are listed.I highly recommend Kaylie!

Went on today on a whim for nose piercings about 30 minutes before closing. I was fully prepared to be turned away because they were so close to closing but Lee took us in as soon as she finished with her current customer. She was not only professional but sensed my nervousness and helped calm me down. My son and I both got our noses done today. It was quick but not painless lol. She was extremely clean, sanitizing between each piercing. I plan to go back for another one soon and I highly recommend her! Glad I followed the previous recommendations on Google

We came back at the appointed time and they were ready for us and prompt for the appointment. My husband was tattooed by Nick. Nick tattooed the script Ohio on my husband’s arm. He did an awesome job! My husband was extremely happy with his work. The script Ohio is clean and perfect.Kaylie did a tattoo for me on my collar bone. I told her the design I wanted, as this was a special tattoo to me. She was helpful running options by me and always asked for my input. I am so happy with my tattoo! My wife just received a tattoo on her upper back near the shoulder. It was a quote from a letter which was from her dad that had just passed away a few months ago. She wanted to get it as a fathers day gift and reminder.Needless to say, it was an important tattoo for her. Kaylie P was the artist who performed the work. She was extremely polite, nice, understanding, and also always kept making sure that my wife was comfortable, not in too much pain, asked if breaks were needed, etc.She did fantastic work and my wife walked away VERY satisfied. She was able to make a stencil for the quote, moved some words around to make the quote appear more symmetrical, etc - all while making sure each change was alright with my wife.Also, when she was finished and cleaning the tattoo up, she noticed some lines that were a bit thinner and could use more ink and touched those spots up. I feel that other artists(not at this shop, clearly!) may have just said meh... thats good enough.., but Kaylie went above and beyond to make sure this tattoo looked great and would continue to look great.Afterwards she answered every single question we had(even the silly ones) with knowledgeable responses, and you could tell she knew exactly what she was doing.Fantastic experience, and I will be letting everyone know to go to this shop in the future! Also I will be coming back to this location to get a tattoo for myself in the next few weeks! I hope I can request Kaylie!!Thanks again, Kaylie! You made my wife very happy!!!

I couldn’t be happier with my work. Ryan is awesome. I have had two pieces done with him now and both times he took the time to make sure what he designed was what I wanted. He is so professional and talented at what he does. With my most recent piece I was apprehensive. He re worked the design and wouldn’t start until I was 100% sure. When he was done I was 100% sure he was right in what he did. He sees things as an artist and professional, and he is so very trustworthy. He has done my only 2 pieces I have and truly they are stunning. Ryan is a true professional.

I went in yesterday for a right forearm piece and couldnt have had a much better experience than at Art Attack. My first tattoo ever, so I was a little nervous to begin with but the relaxed atmosphere and down to earth people really helped out. Drew was my artist and I think he did a fantastic job. I’ve been a fan of Art Attack, my family and I have made many trips getting tattoos and piercings, even before the new location. I got another piercing at art attack a couple weeks ago. I’ve had a couple issues with my piercing since and decided to call to get some guidance and advice on how to help it from the piercer. Instead of listening to the issues I was having, (Lea I believe) was very confrontational and rude with the worst attitude. She cut me off many times and wouldn’t let me explain, followed by blaming me for the piercing not healing properly. It was very unprofessional. I was not asking for the immediate fix, but was just asking for tips on how to relieve the pain and help the healing process. I will not be back because of her and I would love to explain this issue further to the owner. After being told to call with any questions or concerns, that was definitely not the response I expected to hear. Very disappointed.

I had a great time at art attack tattoo. It is a veteran owned business that employees a number of veterans . This place is awesome. The price is great and the work that Mike Lamb did for my tattoo was cool. He did a water color tattoo for my wife and I am going to tell you. After almost two weeks her tattoo looks like it was done yesterday. I will definitely be going back to art attack. Good tattoo work is hard to find. I would absolutely recommend art attack. I got a tattoo 2 days ago its my second tattoo n they made me feel at home he make me feel so comfortable he gave me great instructions on what to do after I left the building and I cant wait to take the plastic off today to see my final result. I went to Drew to get my first tattoo. It was an extremely positive experience. He was kind and understanding. He took on a challenge with a really intricate design and did it perfectly. I am so happy with how it turned out. But most importantly, I am happy with the way I was treated. Drew was understanding of my nerves and indecision, eased my worries, and talked me through it the whole time. Wonderful experience for a first tattoo. Highly recommend!

Seriously one of the best tattoo places Ive been in the entire country. This place is legit high class. The place was spotless, and glistening with sterilized cleanliness. I do not have any complaints what so ever. Every staff member had their own fully stocked, and well decorated PRIVATE rooms (yea thats right, you get to be tattooed or pierced in private! Thats so epic!). The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. My artist was Houston, and he is one hell of an experienced and confident tattoo artist. I highly recommend anyone out of state, as I was, or anyone instate to let this place be your next tattoo/piercing shop. I already booked another tattoo session, due to how amazing everything was. A+ on service, art quality, staff and environment. This is THE best shop Ive ever been in! Cant wait to visit again soon and get more tattoos! The staff here are all friendly from the time you walk in for any appointment. Jennifer has done two tattoos for me so far and I plan on many more. When she did my sternum, she made me feel comfortable during the process. I get compliments on her tattoos all the time, and I personally love them as well and am happy to have them on my body for life.

This is the best tattoo/piercing place around. I have got a Tattoo on both my feet and a huge memorial for my grandmother on my thigh, also my lip pierced. My husband got a huge memorial chest piece for his grandmother. The staff is friendly, upfront, and most of all clean!!! Marc is such a pleasure to let him tattoo on people. He talks you through the entire process and makes sure you are okay. His love for animals also makes a statement of his personal side. He has a huge compassion for sheltered animals. Great staff and service! We took our 6 year olds for ear rings and they were so great that my wife got a nose ring and I hot my ears reguaged.

I have gotten my cartilage and thirds pierced here. When I got my thirds done Lea lined everything up according to my other lobes. My second hole on my left ear is a little low and Lea lined my thirds up perfectly and she explained everything to me as well. I have recommended this shop to several people. The staff is so nice as well as professional and everything is very clean! I will definitely be coming back in the future!

Best tattoo shop in town by far. The shop is owned by Marc Rainville, an extremely talented artist in his own right. I have had more than 20 hours of work done here and am thrilled with the results. All the employees are veterans, which is a great bonus. Piercer is great as well. Shop is extremely clean and well-kept. Jennifer is amazing with vibrant color. Call early for appointments as they book up weeks to months in advance, depending on the artist.

An amazing experience. Today was the first day open since Covid-19 shut it down and the shop was even more hygienic than usual. They seemed extremely orgiastized and prepared it was very reassuring. I had my Septum peirced by Lee as well as us talking about a future piercing of mine. Wow. I knew though chatting though her Instagram that she was very knowledgeable and kind but let me tell you I swear she could explain brain surgery to a toddler and make them smile. She explained why one peircing wouldnt be possible on me because of risk of nicking a blood vessel and we talked about similar peircings that would be possible. Kind thorough and super hygienic. I cant emphasize how easy to talk to and ask questions Lee was. Will definitely be coming back in the future.Also the price is very reasonable for the service. $40 for my septum which included the jewelry. Cant wait for next time!

Had to call multiple times when I got to speak with someone he was very short with me. When I pulled up no one outside other people pulled up and went straight in with the piercer. This is the second time will not go back.

Drew is phenomenal. We just clicked, which is important especially when getting your first tattoo. I had a discouraging tattoo artist consult with me from another tattoo shop, and I almost gave up on getting a tattoo. Then I messaged Art Attack, and immediately I heard back from Drew. He consulted with me the same day. He genuinely cares about his work and is incredibly skilled and good at his craft. Even when I was worried or freaked out with the details and struggled with letting go of my control issues, Drew went above and beyond and was patient, kind, and way fun to be around. Recently went in for some birthday ink. They have gift cards which is SUPER COOL! Mark was my artist and he as fantastic. The needles really tickle me and I have twitchy tendencies and Mark was firm enough to keep me still but gentle enough that my tat healed fully with in four days, and it is not small either. The prices were MORE than fair considering the excellent skill demonstrated by the artist. Also, he had me in and out! It is refreshing to do professional business in a industry that can sometimes leave a lot to be desired within that realm. And as a side note to the ladies, Mark was such a gentleman. Im a bit of a nervous nelly when it comes to direct physical contact with men. (My tat was on my upper thigh, bordering on the no-fly zone and Mark made me really comfortable.) Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience and my ink looks freaking fantastic! Im just so pleased and I cannot say it enough to cover it, so you will have to go in and check it out for yourself!! Thank you Art Attack, and especially Mark! Outstanding quality from highly talented artists. Atmosphere is welcoming and the shop is beyond clean. For anyone who is serious about their body art you will find none better. Well worth the over 4 hour drive from central Virginia to get my work done.

I went in today and got a daith piercing on both ears. Lea was absolutely amazing! She was very professional, everything was extremely clean, and she was so friendly. My mom and I went in to get matching tattoos almost two weeks ago now. It was both of our first time getting tattoos so we were both freaking out.
