Would highly recommend Apex Coins. We have been cleaning drawers and had a collection of mixed gold jewelry we didnt have a need for any longer. We had never sold scrap gold before so was leery. Looked at reviews and went with Apex for that reason. We dealt with Danni (..sorry, I think that was her name..). As so many other have said, she explained everything step by step and gave us what we believe was a fair price. We will return to Apex when the time comes...or, if we try a service closer to home, Apex has placed the bar that any other will have to meet, and I think it is rather high. I had a fairly substantial amount of silver to sell. I went to Apex after a discourteous experience and attempted swindle at one of their competitors. Jeff was forthright and honest with me about his buy and sell practices, and even though he had several other customers, both buyers and sellers, he and his wife were extremely attentive. Apex will give you the best price for your rounds, bars, and gold. If youre in the Raleigh Durham, Greensboro, Winston-Salem area, make the drive, this is your guy. I came into this shop with negative expectations. As in the past, most all Ive come across are shops that are trying to low ball me for my scrap. At that point its either leave feeling sellers remorse, or walk out. Most of the times I just walked out. However at Apexs Gold and Silver I had a unique experience. He offered me a very reasonable price for the scrap I had that day. Next time that I require a service, like this, I will be coming back. He was very courteous and friendly, and I felt like I was in good hands as soon as the conversation began. He didnt try to encourage me to spend the cash on coins, instead he knew my purpose of the trip. He just politely asked if I needed anything else. Jeff is great guy. Thumbs up! I could have saved a lot of time if I came here first.We went to three places as we had my uncles watches and some coins to sell. Okay my fault I went to a pawn shop first they offered us $1200. Then we went to a coin store, they were friendly and offered us $1740.We almost took it but my friend at work suggested APEX, he got a good deal from them.Jeff was the guy we saw, he was friendly and knowledgeable on watches and coins. A watch was worth $2100 alone, I couldnt believe it. In total they paid us $2653.29 that is more than double what we were offered the day before by a Pawn shop.At a time when we are struggling to get by, its nice to know there are still some good businesses out there who do not take advantage of you. We recommend them.

They paid me 75% of the value on my gold the guy down the road offered me 50% after i did the math very honest. After reading the reviews about Jeff I decided that Apex was the place to go for my 90 year old moms outdated collection of costume, silver and gold jewelry that she never uses anymore.Jeff does everything in front of you--from sorting out the junk metal, to weighing, and using his phone app to determine the current value of the silver and gold. I felt totally confident that Jeff was being fair and honest.There were only about 7 or 8 pieces of jewelry that had any value, but boy was I thrilled to be able to take $450.00 back to my mom.

I am not going to give a bad review at all because things happen in life that can not be helped...But I agree with Ryan Jones a little about what he said...I go to Cooks Flea Market to buy some silver almost every weekend...last weekend on Sunday I made the 45min drive one way to pick some up only to find out the stand was closed but no big deal...Today I did a google search to find silver dealers in Winston and found Apex Gold and Silver so I made the drive to Winston and pulled up to the store and there was a sign on the door Had to close early today because of a house call and also on the door I saw that the same people own the stand I went to last weekend at cooks lol but I understand things happen in day to day life...And I know that the $60-$100 I would have spent wont make you or break you but I would have liked to be able to know you were going to be closed without having to make a 45 min drive to do so...But Super nice guy that I I have bought my silver from at your stand at Cooks and you dont try and rip off people with crazy prices way above spot...so I will be back...I just hope you are open next time :)

I stopped by the store I learned a lot about coins and collectible things in the store. I never know much about coins but Jeff took the time out to tell details about the different coins. Next visit I will bring so coins by to let him see; he wonderful deals on coins.

Drove an hour to this store after checking all local stores, and determining this looked like the best option. Arrived at 1 pm Monday at their store, during their posted business hours, only to be met with locked doors. I called them, only to have them tell me they would be open Thursday. I took about 85 coins with me, my entire collection of silver coins included. If you change business hours like that, you should at least have a sign or a post somewhere on the internet detailing this. Wasted $10 in gas trying to make some extra money. Waste of time.
