Ace is a good hardware store. The people are knowledgeable and respectful. They arent as big as the come Depo butb thats ok. If they n funny have it most of the time they can order it for you.

The guy working the lawn and garden parts department was great. A very knowledgeable person who went over and above to be helpful and do a great job. It was a pleasure to see someone who clearly enjoyed doing his job well and helping people.

Tryed to get assistance for a lawn spreader. Went to the counter and asked. Went back to the item I was interested in. Waited a good 10/15 minutes. No one came to assist me. So I left, wont go back to Ace Hardware in Wis. Rapids.

As always great staff! Always very helpful. I often choose to drive to this location verses others even though it is further away from me.

I can find almost any nut, bolt, washer, light bulb, adhesive, sealant, etc I need here. But when it comes to getting service in the hunting & fishing dept, there is usually only one extremely slow snail working there, and by the time you get service, the season is almost over. What they need is either two people working back there, or ONE...good person who wants to work and help out all the people standing there waiting to get service. It is seriously lacking in that dept.

As always I wont shop anywhere else for my hardware needs. But I wont go the to get a copy of a key made. I waited for 5 minutes and no one even greeted me or asked if I was being helped. I didnt expect my key to be made right away but it would of been nice to be at the very least acknowledge by an employee. I am still over all pleased with Ace hardware

New ownership has continued the friendly enviroment. With the addition of the sporting goods sales. It is a main staple in the community. I continue to see shelves being cycled with new products. As with any businesses, I hope ACE continues forward with more American made merchandise. It would be a nice addition if lumber for small building needs would be included.

This particular Ace Hardware store is comparatively larger than most other Aces I have shopped at in the past. The internal layout is very simple and easy to navigate. Every aisle is clearly numbered and has a short 3-4 word description alongside to help you find whatever item your looking for. The aisles were very clean and kept clear of any obstructions. For an Ace store it carried a very wide selection of items which was nice. However it took me over 15 minutes to find the item i was looking for, the lack of any real customer service didnt seem to help matters much. Every associate I found always seemed to be too busy to acknowledge me. The 2 associates I was able to get to stop and answer my question didnt seem to have any more knowledge of where to find things than i did. I eventually had to rudely interrupt another customer to ask the only manager on duty where the garage door opener remotes were. Once I had what I came there for I checked out and was on my way out the door. Overall Id say this store wouldmt be my first place to shop at again, but if it was the only place available it wouldnt bother me too much to have to go here. If they trained employees a little better and made items easier to locate this could be a great store!! Until then 3 stars is all its really worth giving.

I asked a guy named Rex about the deer stands they had out front, and was just kinda rude and didnt even have his mask over his face. U guys put a big dam sign out front about wearing a mask while you are in the store, and your employees cant even were the dam thing.

Alexis nailed it! I procrastinated long enough on deck resurfacing that product was no longer produced. Had to try one more place and, amazingly Ace had one gallon, just what I needed. Alexis greeted me at the paint counter and eagerly searched for tinting recipe. Computer tinting machine software had been updated and no longer had formula. Alexis kept working and came up with a hack that looked promising. This coating is very thick and the several year old paint was very hard to mix, but she kept at it, despite uncooperative mixing machines. I followed directions and mixed this can with the others I had, but I am not sure anyone would notice a difference. Thanks, Alexis!

I go for the fishing and firearms. Back in that area, they are educated in their respective fields. If they dont know the answer to something, they will do the best they can to find out for you.Edit: 06/16/2021Dropping one star. Although they still maintain a wonderful rating, they cannot seem to mount a scope properly. On several occasions, both my friend and I had poor experiences with a scope on our rifles. If you need anything besides basic hardware install, I would try to find someone with more experience.

They have a good selection of hardware but the prices on a lot of the items in the store are pretty steep! But I guess if ur the only place in town that carries certain things other stores dont u can get away with it!

Been happy with finding unusual pieces I need for projects, and getting keys made, screens repaired, unless you need those corner tabs or spring locks.. DOWNSIDE IS THE RIDICULOUSLY SHORT RETURN PERIOD OF 30 DAYS WHICH IS NOT EVEN PRINTED ON THEIR RECEIPTS!

None of the cashiers nor employees could be bothered to put a mask on. Since I can get a better selection and lower prices at home depot and Lowes AND they wear masks, I will not be returning to Ace.

Lots of stuff at this store. Nice gift area but very expensive. Staff was helpful to find what I needed. Checkout was very distracted, didnt talk, just handed me my receipt, no bag. Then I asked if I could bag it myself. Sure. In all fairness, maybe many people dont want a bag. They just take their purchases and go.

Like the normal hardware store than the big box ones. The gift area in this Ace is fabulous! Not the run of the mill gift items that can be found everywhere.

I like going to Ace: I can explain what I am working on (home ownership means keeping on top of issues) and they always give me options as to what I can do to fix my problem . You dont have to buy a box of nut or bolts when you only need a few for your project - this can save you money. Their staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable as to what they carry.
