Very disappointed in Orvis, especially this store. I traveled an hour to get to this store only to be told, what I believe to be an Orvis insider Secret. I went to purchase the entry level rod/reel combo for my spouse to begin getting into fly fishing. I was told by the store sales associate that the Orvis stores stock the Endeavor entry line of rods, reels, or combos. Of course they tried to up sell me a Clear Water rod reel combo. Not good Orvis. I was told the Endeavor line rod, reels, and combos could be ordered and delivered to my home address. Yeah, I can accomplish that via Amazon or the Orvis web site myself.

This place has a lot of what I need. Its not a big store like the one east of here, but its easier for me to get to. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Would recommend.

I had placed an online order for a gift for my brother in Germany, but unfortunately the German postal system returned it to Orvis. When attempted to reorder the item to be sent to my home, of course the item was no longer available... Absolutely not Orvis’s fault. Today I went to my local Orvis store to see if maybe they had it in local stock, and while unfortunately they didn’t, the sales associate (Jackson) went out of his way to check all open stores to see if they had one. Even after I left the store, Jackson followed up a couple hours later after phoning multiple stores with the bad news that the item was sold out. Even though I didn’t get what I wanted, the commendable customer service was definitely a five-star performance. Thank you.

I can’t believe Orvis does not do any type of military discount on fishing gear and dog stuff. I can go to TCO fly shop and get this same orvis pro fishing vest for 149.00. Orvis stores wants that top dollar even in this plandemic. They said they not match that price. Good luck with your business

This is my anchor for fly fishing gear. You are able to test the rods outside in the adjacent grass. Orvis rods and reels have been the best that I have used so far. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have been coming to the store for several years, and have not had any bad experiences. Orvis does back their products as well, the warranty on the rods do work- this from firsthand experience. I have bought 3 rods from Orvis Woodbridge and all have performed very well. You most certainly get what you pay for, the more expensive the rod the better it performs, but even their cheapest rods seem to outperform the competition at the same pricepoint. There is not an expansive selection for fly fishing gear in the area, but Orvis has met my needs. Need advice about where to go, and what to use? Ask Mark, the fishing manager, or any of the other people that they have working in the fishing section they have always been happy to share some places and they organize trips as well. If you need a class to get you started take their fly fishing 101 class, it’s free!

Customer service issues. Please make sure the staff has been trained on customer service. I highly recommend cultural sensitivity training!
