Really impressed with the service level and value from custom distributors. Courtney was so knowledgeable and fun to work with, and kept me in the loop every step of the way. The delivery drivers even spoiled my dogs with belly rubs. Highly recommend relying on CD for your appliance needs.

Custom Distributors disvalues customers. On Tuesday, I contacted Custom Distributors in Worthington with a specific request to get a price on specific Subzero/Wolf appliances. Id already done my research and been to 2 other high end showrooms in Columbus and Cincinnati. I knew what I wanted. I had to make an appointment and come in to the showroom in order to get a price here and see if they had an advantage to order here. So I took the first available appointment on Friday afternoon (3 days later) and took a half day off to go.I arrived to my appointment on time. Walked in the showroom. Didnt see anyone. Start walking around. No sales people. No customers. Then in the very back, I see some workers through the glass in the back office and conference room eating. I tried to get their attention but they never looked up. So I kept walking around looking at the appliances.While walking around and waiting I could help but take notice that all the appliances, glass tops, and control panels were full of fingerprints--not reassuring during a pandemic when every other business is meticulously wiping down surfaces as new COVID cases are at an all time high.Seventeen minutes later, a man comes out and the first thing he tells me is he had three back to back appointments and didnt get his lunch break. He never introduced himself nor called me by my name but later I figured out this must be the man who I had been emailing to set up the appointment with me.From there, it went downhill in slow motion. He told me hed been selling Subzero for 15 years yet no demonstration of expertise on the ability to compare and contrast different brands--just tried to hand me the plastic card out of the fridge with the same information that I read on Subzeros website. I came here to get a price on multiple appliances and validate my choice to go with Subzero/Wolf. I asked about delivery and installation fees. He rattled off it would be extra for all that $300 or $350 for the fridge, extra $350 for the range,....wasnt totally sure. I asked about promotions, he said the price is the price. Meanwhile Wolf/Subzero and every other authorized dealer is running promotion of $1,000 cash rebate or 3 year extended warranty. They must not being doing that here. Shrug. I walked out.No one was wearing a mask in the entire place even though many cities are under new indoor mask mandates. Every other high end appliance showroom that I visited in the past week was fully masked, plus they were encouraging their customers to wear masks. The other showroom salespeople had their acts together, giving a deeper level of information and advice to the savvy, prepared buyer. And all of their appliances were without a single visible fingerprint nor requiring an appointment to see.Who wants to spend $40,000 on appliances here? Not me.

Fantastic service. Went in because our stove died. We looked at several options and chose the one that best suited us. They did a pre-installation walkthrough and told us what needed to be modified for the new stove. They came to do the installation without any issues. It was a great experience.

Im floored. Absolutely stunned. What started out as a fantastic experience quickly declined once full payment was received. We purchased our stove for over $1600 on February 15th, 2021. Courtney Shannon, our sales rep, advised us that they had some units in stock that could be installed sooner, we picked our unit along with a microwave and paid in full. She advised us that we would be receiving a phone call as soon as they were available to get us scheduled for a delivery date. Meanwhile while we waited, we had no stove at home as our current unit was inoperable.We waited 3 weeks for a return call to get us on the schedule for delivery, called Courtney twice and left voicemails both times with no returned call from her. I then contacted a different person and advised we had no delivery date and they AT THAT TIME put us on the schedule, another 3 weeks out. More waiting. Stove and microwave were eventually installed on March 29th, the installers were very professional, did a great job, answered all our questions, we were happy.We used the stove for the very first time, gas top, and immediately the burner grate started chipping black paint onto the stove surface. Just the right side, the left side didnt chip. Instead of bothering our sales rep knowing we probably wouldnt receive a return call, my husband called Frigidaire to inquire about a new grate since its a brand new stove. Or so we thought. Frigidaire asked for the model number and instantly told us our unit is a 2019 model and that nothing is covered as its outside of manufacturer warranty. Interesting, as we purchased what we were told was a brand new unit.I then called Custom Distributors and requested Courtneys extension and she actually answered. When I told her my name she sounded a little uneasy to hear from me. I said that she needed to speak with my husband regarding the situation, he proceeded to tell her what had happened and she hung up on him. The phone was just silent, no return call, nothing. Just dead air. So I called and left a message with Ginger Birkhimer and advised of the entire situation. This all happened this evening, Im currently waiting for a response.To say Im disappointed is an understatement, Im disgusted that ANY employee of a company would treat customers this way who give more than $2300 (including microwave, installation, etc) to their company, of which Im sure she enjoyed her portion of commission, for a stove that was manufactured two years ago, already outside of warranty. And to not return the calls of your customers to even set up a delivery date and to HANG UP when confronted with such an odd situation is beyond comprehensible. My husband was very nice to her on the phone and assumes innocence. I however would like answers for the misrepresentation and utter unprofessionalism that has occurred the past two months. I do not want a run around response as any response will be copied and sent in with my complaint to the attorney general tomorrow. I need nothing less than an immediate explanation and resolution to this. Im praying this is all just a misunderstanding and that we do not have a two year old stove in our possession for which we paid full retail. As a business owner myself I cannot imagine representing my company or hiring individuals to represent my company in this manner. Truly unbelievable.

We contacted them back in September to replace our dying cooktop. They have a great showroom. The staff that we talked to were knowledgeable about our options and helped in getting the right replacement cook top. That is where the good experience ends.The cooktop took weeks to come in and fortunately was able to be installed before thanksgiving. We paid them the full amount. We did not get the full equipment. A burner was missing and the knobs on the gas controls are bent so they don’t line up. The installer told us he would contact them and let them know. After a week we had not heard from them so I called.Their advice was to push the knobs back in alignment and they’ll order the part.We spent a considerable amount of money on a premium cooktop and it comes incomplete and damaged. We are now approaching February and we still don’t have a complete cooktop. In addition to this we’ve had to follow up with them. There is no proactive follow up, no one to inspect the unit. No attempt at customer service.I would not recommend them at all given the experience that we’ve had. At this point I just want a working complete cooktop. If this had been a “refurb” I can see where this would be expected but it’s not!I could have gone to Big Sandy or somewhere else and at least there would be some sort of recourse for this. Custom Distributors has been a disappointment. So before dropping 2500.00, 5,000.00, or even $10K on a kitchen update from them shop around. If something isn’t right you’re probably stuck.

We had a wonderful experience working with Custom Distributors’s on purchasing our new appliances. Their prices are comparable with the “big box” stores, BUT here you actually get Customer Service and people who know their products.We initially work with Mike who was very efficient and knowledgeable about the products. He sent us quotes on everything we were interested in purchasing. When we were ready to buy he was out of the store so we worked with Ginger, the General Manager. She was extremely knowledgeable and efficient, from the purchase to the delivery. She helped me with every detail. The delivery guy were outstanding.They were friendly, cleaned up everything, and knew exactly what do with the installation, and how to use the products we purchased.We will definitely be back to purchase appliances in the future. We would not go anywhere else!
