I went in to have my A/C checked. I was told it was the seals that needed replacement. $471.00 later and 2 days pass and it’s not blowing cold air, plus Freon is ALL over my engine and I can also smell it when the vents are blowing. I called and told them it’s doing the same thing (not blowing cold air) and was instructed to bring it back in. 24 hours pass and Joseph calls me and says it’s the lower line that’s actually leaking not the seals and it would cost $680.00 to fix. I already paid $471.00 for you guys to find the problem and fix it. So I asked for my money back. He told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to pay yet again. What kind of business tells you they fix something, when they didn’t, then tell you to pay again after they unprofessionally and unsuccessfully failed?I recommend people stay as far away from this place as possible. The manager wouldn’t even give me the owners contact information. My wife and I are also looking into legal ramifications as well.

Its a hot mess Express happening at this location. Very bad management. Very pour communication skills. My car was there for 3 hours. I had an appointment. They did NOTHING. Then told me my job wasnt getting done today anyway. Not reliable. Not dependable service.Suggest you go somewhere else.Pretty sad. I was just getting an alignment.Cant call me to say something else is wrong with my car. When I got there I felt like the guy was giving me a line.To that tuffy store owner: Dont book appointments if you cant keep them.I still have to get an inspection to find out whats wrong with my car. Since I also did not get a report on what they found wrong with my car when they returned my car.

Went into this tuffy store on a what I thought would be a busy Wednesday morning to find out about financing an all new brake job on front and back asked what it would run me as I am a delivery driver so having good brakes was a must! Well after getting the quote and the approval I made an appointment for the next day however I made 1 delivery and my back brake locked up. They were able to get me pretty much right in the same day and got it done in 2 hours! The people at this location went above and beyond! So thank you!

My fiancée went to get the A/C in our truck fixed. When we got it back it worked for maybe 2 days. After that it went out again we took it back. Just for the manager to tell us they fixed the wrong part and that we had to pay to get the right part fixed. No negotiation no reimbursement nothing. Then we called for days to get the owners contact information and got the run around. Horrible place manager not professional at all. If I could rate 0 stars I would.

Had an appointment for a Wednesday to get a rough idle and battery light checked out. After not hearing anything all day, I called close to their closing time and they said that they looked at it and nothing was wrong. Why wouldn’t they have called me l? And why was my car sitting in the exact same place seemingly untouched? I asked them to take a further look while explaining what exactly was going on, and requested at the very least an oil change which was needed. The next day I hear nothing. Friday I call again and was told that they replaced a battery terminal without my consent, and did an oil change. They stated that the problems were fixed. Fine. I went to pick up my car. Besides the fact that there were no company floor mats to protect my carpet like most places use, I now had two additional warning lights on my dash, including one for the convertible top which should not have been touched at all! The rough idle was not fixed and the battery light came on. I WAS WITHOUT MY ONLY CAR FOR A WEEK WITHOUT THE PROBLEM GETTING FIXED, IN FACT GETTING WORSE, AND OUT $70. WORST AUTO SHOP EXPERIENCE OF MY 30 YEARS OF LIFE.

I was sure it was going to be a pricey fix but it was just snow under my tires next to the brakes and I kept hearing a hissing noise in my vents when the air was on low which turned out to be leaves in the cabin filter. Thankfully nothing major was wrong but Im so grateful they removed all that for free and assured me nothing was wrong on the front end which I was worried bout. I brought my car in because I thought I had a simple issue with my ABS system. Turns out I had a lot of alignment issues and needed a lot of things fixed and replaced. Sean and his team were able to look at my car within two hours of me dropping it off. It ended up costing me quite a bit more than I anticipated (due to the number of issues). Sean sympathized with me and after he was done fixing my issues, he gave me an alignment for free. My car was done within 24 hours of me dropping it off and Tuffy offered me some great financing options to make it easier on me. I would recommend this Tuffy to anyone needing a quick fix.

Listen to the reviews, and do not take your car here! Theyre either extremely incompetent at even the most basic of repairs, or just trying to shake as much money out of you as they can. Either way, you will want to avoid this place at all costs. They charged me over $600 to put a new alternator in a ford escort. This is a very simple and basic repair that is not complicated or difficult. A good shop will charge between $100 and $200 in labor to replace an alternator. A terrible one like Clyde Park Tuffy will charge you six times as much. In addition to this, they charge extremely high prices to order parts for you. The parts they ordered for me cost over twice as much as they do from any parts shop or online.I strongly suggest you go elsewhere because this place is a rip off.

I feel slightly conflicted about my experience. My repair cost were exorbitant but desperate times call for desperate measure. However, after a nearly 1200 bill i came back because one of my brights was out and was told that i would need a multifunction switch replaced and the part alone started at 500 dollars. Now after the first time I knew well enough to go online and try and locate myself and couldnt find a single one over 40 dollars. I also called another mechanic who requested I bring it in and come to find out I had tried replacing the old bulb with the incorrect bulb. A second opinion literally saved me more than 475 dollars. I really hope it was unintentional. On the plus side all the guys are extremely polite and personable

I brought my 2010 Mazda 6 in for a brake job expecting at worst to be in it for around 400-600 bucks. Being that it was December and Christmas was looming close with 2 small children the lure of tuffys no credit payment seemed like a great way to avoid shelling out the lump sum right off the bat. After waiting around a half hour or so the desk worker came back and informed me my entire brake system from the master cylinder to every brake pad needed replaced and also told me the master was a special order which wouldnt be there for 3-5 days. He then showed me an outrageous quote of 1,800 dollars!!!! Almost 2 grand for a brake job? Incredibly disheartened I relayed to him I couldnt afford that even with his offer to spread that amongst 3 months with a 600 dollar down payment. Even with what seemed like a genuine diagnosis I had major doubts about its accuracy so I began to look around for a smaller locally owned repair shop and came across one with great customer reviews. After dropping my car to one stop auto I quickly received a phone call with a 600 dollar quote and the great news that basically everything tuffy had told me was either misdiagnosed or a flat out lie. My vehicle is now braking beautifully and Im still able to give my kids a great Christmas. So in conclusion unless you wish to spend 3-5 times more money and be completely lied to you should avoid tuffy like the plague.

STEER CLEAR!! ENTER THIS TUFFY AT YOUR OWN RISK OF FACE LACERATIONS!!! Possibly by the protection of a higher power, I was able to leave this Tuffy with both of my eyeballs unscathed! Here’s what happened. On the morning of July 25th of 2012 I turned the key to my car. It turned over but refused to start. I called various garages gathering diagnosis quotes. I eventually spoke with an employee of Tuffy. The employee told me diagnosing my car would be free as long as they found the issue to be with either the lack of spark, or bad fuel pump. He disclosed beyond those two specific things, a $38.00 charge would be applied for detecting the car’s problem. To me, that sounded like a fair deal. The next morning I dropped the car off to this Tuffy. To avoid any misunderstanding, I double checked with Tuffys employee about their diagnosis policy. He assured me that the estimate would be absolutely free unless it was a problem other than the two aforementioned issues. I then returned to my job. An hour later I received a phone call from Tuffy informing me of a broken fuel pump. I took this as good news. At least I didnt have to pay for the estimate! He gave me a repair quote of around $730.00. I notified the man that I could not afford that price at this time. Later that afternoon, I returned with a friend to retrieve my car. When I attempted to gather my key, the employee declared I owed $38.00. Since this had directly contradicted his previous affirmation, I rightfully questioned the expense. Bless his heart, he tried his hardest to emulate a genuine professional. He said lots of words, desperately attempting to construct an appeasing explanation. Alas, his valiant effort to provide justification of the $38.00 fell short. Still leery of the specious charge, I repeated my inquiry. Exhausted after about a whole 2 minutes of struggling to legitimize the fee, he aborted. Frustrated and befuddled, like an angered primate, he ripped my key from his clip-board and flung it at my face. “HERE! TAKE YOUR KEY! IM NOT GONNA ARGUE WITH YOU!” he exclaimed. I believe aggressively chucking car keys at customers heads fails to comply with Tuffy’s mission statement, ” To Provide the Best Automotive Repair Service in the Industry Through a Continuous Commitment to Quality and Customer Service” But I digress. Thanks to my highly honed car-key deflecting skills, I was able to avoid injury to my head. I couldn’t help but feel pity for the disheartened highbrow. I abstained verbal reply, realizing its fruitlessness. I simply regained my key from the floor and proceeded to relocate my car. In conclusion, directly related to the dazzling display of barbarism, I will not be returning. How disappointing. I was very much looking forward to a long lasting relationship with this Tuffy. Because of their close proximity to my office, I had planned on using them for all of my future repair needs. Oh well, there are plenty of local competitors we can relinquish our money to. I will dutifully update this review as soon as I locate an authentic auto repair business.
