Dr. Farmer and her entire team are the BEST caregivers! They are always professional, the office is always super-clean, and now with Covid, they have the best precautions I have seen anywhere. Dr. Farmer is always thorough with her exams, but at the same time is extremely personable and interested in her patients. You couldn’t ask for a better clinic for all your vision care needs.

Dr Farmer has always gone above and beyond to take care of my family and I. She provides excellent care, and I believe her rates are fairly comparable to others in the field.

Supposed to get a referral sent to another place a week and a half ago call the other place never got it.

Went to an appointment for the 2nd time and staff didn’t know why I was there. Front desk is unaware of customers. It’s almost your job to welcome yourself. Expect a long wait time after your appointment time for service (40min +).

I have worn glasses since I was three years old. For over 55 years, because of my history, I believed I needed to see an ophthalmologist for my eye care. When I returned to Yakima in 2010, Dr. Farmer, an optometrist at Yakima Vision Center was recommended to me. She and the rest of the staff are wonderful. I have received the most thorough exams I have ever had. She has a very personalized chair-side manner and is always willing to answer questions.

Wasnt sure whether or not to give them a 2 or 3. The doctors (prior and existing) are always excellent, but they really need to watch and listen to how their staff (especially the receptionists) treat their customers. Most of the time they are rude, curt, and sound as if they could care less about you as a customer. Rarely are they friendly. Is it that bad to work there? They have little patience, and need to learn phone etiquette. Doctors please train your staff in customer service.

Just the worst! A month to get my safety glasses, two week to get bifocals that arent right. I will never use them again, eye mark express in Union Gap had glasses in two days that were perfect. The only reason I used these guys was because of my insurance. Not a fan.

Got charged a cancellation fee for my first visit as a new patient.

I had a good experience for my exam and selecting new frames.

I have been going to Yakima Vision Center for years. I see Dr Susan Farmer and she always does a thorough examination with thoughtful discussion of her findings. Friendly office staff. I have confidence in my treatment here.

I’ve been coming here my whole life, my parents know Dr. Farmer from residency so the visits are fun and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately on more then one occasion there has been a miscommunication about eye wear being ready when it’s not.

I always feel cared for when I go to my appointments at Yakima vision. They go out of the way to do their best.

So here I am about to run out of disposable contacts during the Covid-19 epidemic and Yakima County has the highest rate of infections on the west coast. I call the center and ask them to order me more contacts and am told Im due for an exam so they wont order me more contacts. Listen, I understand its good practice to check patients eyes to make sure no problems are occurring, but I explain I have an underlying condition that increases my risk of severe Covid side effects so I cant go in for an exam. Im told OK someone in their contact lens group will get back to me. No call. Late in the day I call back to check - told no word from contact group, so I leave them a VM. Days go by with no call so I assume my contacts were ordered. My wife is going into town and can pick-up the contacts so I call to see if theyre in. Receptionist says theres a note in my file saying no exam - no contacts. Apparently nobody there thought to call me (a long term patient). Now Im going to run out! You know, they could have called and explained to me how maybe its state law, or their malpractice insurance policy, or some other reason they are prevented from ordering me more contacts - but they didnt. Instead they left me hanging and now I feel like they care more about getting that exam money than my overall health. Maybe the problem lies more with the contact lens group than the whole center - I dont know, but I do know this was an unacceptable experience and Im seeking eye care elsewhere.

I had an appt to look at glasses.The person came out to my car and took my temp. As I was getting out of my car, the person said to meokay, we only have 20 min.I was there to pick out 2 pair of glasses and I knew 20 min wasnt going to be enough. The person was nice helped me. Unfortunately they wanted waaaaay to much for 1 pair of glasses with Progressive lenses and lenses for a pair I had previously purchased there. I canceled and Im going elsewhere. I will still go to see Dr. Pharmer, she is very good!.

After a bad experience at another clinic and not being able to see correctly for about 3 months I came to the Yakima Vision Center. Im happy to say that Im able to see correctly now. Everyone is professional and it was a great experience. Thanks!

Ive been seeing Dr. Ward for years. I just ordered contacts and glasses plus I had my yearly exam. All the staff are outstanding and very courteous. Within 2 days I had my contacts. Within 4 days my glasses were ready and fitted by a very nice gentlemen. Sorry I dont remember his name. I would recommend going here. Thank you staff!!!!

I have been a patient at Yakima Vision Center for many years. I have always been impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly staff and terrific doctors. Everyone is willing to go above and beyond! If you are looking for a great vision center I would definitely recommend them! I have recommended them to all my friends and family.

I liked Dr Ward, but apparently he is no longer there.. The person who answered the phone couldnt care less about my concern and questions pertaining to his sudden departure. I have never had an issue with Dr Ward or any of the people on the back that actually do the exams. Ive had issues with the people that answer the phone and take your payment. This seems to be a normal thing at medical type places, several that I frequent have equally rude customer facing employees, but I will say that as a customer, I do not have to accept it. I have moved to a different Eye Dr and so far, they are awesome. If you have not experienced this issue, then enjoy your Dr, just remember, you do not have to accept rude attitudes, your are a patient but you are also a customer. And where ever Dr Ward ended up, I hope he is doing well.

Dr. Farmer and all the staff were amazing! They treated my eye condition with urgency and were able to schedule an appointment for me the very next business day. I felt like I wasnt going through anything alone and that Dr. Farmer genuinely cared. All of my questions were answered and everything was done professionally.

The staff were so kind and professional and talked me through everything. The optometrist was friendly and went so in depth looking at my eyes and answered every question I had along the way. They even had an individual help me find glasses! Yakima vision center is so professional, well organized and friendly. I wish I knew about this establishment for my first prescription!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor was very thorough in explaining all my questions. He was very kind and patient. This offices prices may be a little high but, I feel more confident that the quality of the service I received is better than the cut rate prices of other vision places.

I recently went to Yakima Vision Center I was very impressed with their up-to-date equipment and their professional friendly service and as a senior I was pleasantly surprised by their competitive pricing really really surprised by that. They had a wide selection of frames and after my insurance paid I had an additional 20% discount on any frames that I chose. That was an added bonus.

Dr Ward service was fabulous. Billing practices deceitful and deceptive. Went through medical and not vision claiming a condition I’ve had for 14 years makes it “medical”. It’s a VISION appointment. Ended up paying much more than $25 copay and they refused to run it primary through vision insurance. I’ve had the SAME vision appointments for years and never had this issue. I’m looking for another optometrist. Be careful what insurance information you give them.

I have seen both Dr. Farmer and Dr. Ward and found them very professional and personable in their care of me. They are knowledgeable in their areas of expertise as they explained things to me. They and their staff made it a very pleasant experience for me when I was in their office. I have been a client at YVC for quite a few years now. The staff has always not only been courteous, they treat you like family. They take the time to get to know your name and who you are. They remember the little things, like always asking about our fur babies, or how my wifes mom is doing after her stroke. And Dr. Farmer has a way of getting all the exam and tests done almost without you even knowing. Shes easy to talk to, like a big sister that you tell your eyeball problems to.If given the chance, I would shout from the rooftops. Consider this said rooftops. I was disappointed that Dr. Ward is gone. I still had a great experience, however. The final test will be when I get my new glasses and find out how well I can see with them.

I called last week to schedule an appointment with Dr Ward on Tuesday April 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. The problem is that his receptionist did not scheduled it and this morning when I arrived at the office on Lincoln Ave they told me that I didn’t called them because I was not on their computers. Both receptionists were very rude, and the old blond lady was rude also. They didn’t face their mistake and didn’t apologize and I was told that Dr Ward had the day off. They even told me that I probably made my appointment in any other place but theirs, so I called from my cellphone right away to the number I called a week before and, yes, you are right, it was the Yakima Vision Center telephone number. My question is, who scheduled my appointment and made me waste my time. Do not recommend this place.

Amazing staff and Dr.s who always go above and beyond. They handled my accidental last minute contact orders and got me the contacts I needed in no time. Best place in Yakima by far.
