I have never in my entire life have had a Doctors visit as horrible as what I experienced at this office. If youre someone who is on medi-caid, I do not recommend you come here because it was made CLEARLY obvious that the staff at this office hates poor people or people that are struggling. The staff (besides one person) was extraordinarily rude, and the Optometrist is possibly one of the most judgmental people I have ever met. When I was in her office, I was trying to let my husband know about his appointment that was right after mine and she told me to text him, I said my phone was not on at the moment and she laughed at me. Like most people, the pandemic has severely effected my families financial stability, and to have a Doctor, of all people, laugh about it was a huge slap in the face. She judged me for being Indigenous, and then essentially said that my husband and I shouldnt have children because they would have horrible vision. Who does that? She had absolutely no right to tell me whether I should have children or not, this particular comment left me feeling disgusted and completely violated. The uncomfortability of it all went on for my entire visit, I wanted to leave a review sooner but my husband and I both had to pick up our glasses so I decided to hold off. Today when we went to pick up our glasses, they just handed them to us at the door without a fitting, and when my husband got home the lens of his new glasses popped off of the frame! Like literally just popped right off. I am appalled by this Optometrists office and will never be returning, I advise for people to stay far away from here as well, especially if youre a family that is financially struggling or youre on medicaid. The staff and Doctor should be ashamed of themselves for providing such an atrocious experience.

Dr. Chan and the staff are amazing at what they do. Their policy and protocol really makes you feel confident when you’re going in for a check up, especially during these times. Love this place and I recommend it to everyone.

The staff are courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this place. The appointment was quick and the office maintained a high level of cleanliness. Very efficient !

I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend their practice to anyone!! Dr. Chen was awesome and her staff was super good with my daughter who can be very invasive!! They were kind and patient and I will be going there for the foreseeable future. I had an extremely positive experience and my daughter really loved all the ladies in the office.

My whole family have been going to Dr. Chan for years. Everyone is so friendly and I feel like our care is very individualized, like an old school family doctor. We drive across town to see her and its worth it. Her staff is always so friendly and have been there for years. Definitely recommend!

Its a small office and out of the way location. I like that theyll work with you, and have a lot of patience. Dont like that they close at noon on Fridays.

This was my first optometrist and I thought their high quality care was standard until I tried 3-4 other optometrists in town...they were subpar to the attention and care that Dr. Mamie and her staff give. I am very glad to have her back as my optometrist and highly recommend her!

Have been going to abq eye care for years has always had great service.

There are at least 20 closer eye places to me(I live on the west side by Rio Rancho), but I drive all the way to ABQ Eye Care. Their staff is just so friendly, and Dr. Mamie Chan is so enjoyable and great with the children. I will never take my daughter anywhere else. I highly recommend this place to ANYONE and everyone I know!

Dr Chan and her staff are vary friendly and patient. I went in for my first exam visit last November and decided to try contacts for the first time. I went back for a fitting and decided that even though I struggled with the contacts, I would order a supply. The staff was very patient in trying to help make everything work out, and accommodating if I decided otherwise.As it stands, I went back last week to order glasses - contacts didnt work out - no ones fault, just gave it my best shot. I ordered a pair of glasses for reading only and then brought in a pair of glasses I wear for riding and ordered the prescription for long distance to be replaced with the current prescription in these glasses.Through every step of the way, the staff made me feel like they truly cared; taking whatever time I needed to make things work.I would definitely recommend Dr Chan!

With the whole SARS-CoV-2 pandemic that has been taking its toll on the U.S. I needed an update with my eye prescription. I just didnt feel quite comfortable about very many places. I was saddened when initially trying to make an appointment with Dr. Chan, that they were closed. Dr. Chan and her staff have always been professional, courtesy, and caring with me. I have noticed from previous visits to her office, that it has always been very clean. So once I found out Dr. Chans office would be opening back up, without any hesitation, i set up an appointment. When I got to her office for my appointment, I already have faith that her and her staff wouldve been prepared and went above and beyond to make sure their patients safety was well thought out first. As for safety wise Dr. Chan and staff not only met my expectations for safety and NM requirements, they have surpassed them. I commend you and your staff on the excellent job you all have been doing. Ill continue to see you for all my eye care needs in the future. Thank you all.

Not happy about the prices of frames and service! Dr Maimie was super friendly and nice and I appreciated that, but the examination overall seemed real quick and not real thorough, a few of her staff members were friendly but the one I got was not and she was not helpful to explain the pricing (especially the price of the frames). I was not pleased with the lack of explanations of my service and when I asked for the glass prescription so I can purchase another pair of glasses at Sams Club (which have a bigger and more reasonable price frame selection), I did not receive a statement but it was mailed to me, along with the prescription and that is when I saw the break down of pricing, but even then it was hard to understand... and the prescription they mailed me lacked the PO distance, which is necessary to get a pair of glasses ordered. I asked them to mail the over-PRICED pair of glasses I purchased because I didnt have time to go get them and I was pleased they were willing and able to do that. I did ask to talk with Dr Maime so that I could get some clarity of the prices being so high along with the other concerns I had, but she was gone for about a week after I called, she then called while I was working and couldnt answer and just a series of events prevented me to ever get to talk with Dr Maime. I originally went to Dr Maime because of her high ratings, unfortunately I dont give my experience a high rating.

Awful experience, they cancelled my appointment and didn’t even tell me, I drove all the way from out of town to come here not once but twice .
