Good luck ever getting your items sold here. The owner/buyer doesnt even look past the first couple items you buy. Ive tried to.sell three times and never have luck, even when I bring good items that they are listing they need. (H&M, forever21, j crew, Tommy Hilfiger.) She just has the same excuse, their inventory is too high. Well maybe if you lowered your prices to actual resale prices, people would buy. The owner here clearly just buys new wholesale items and resells it like shes running a boutique. If youre going to be a resell shop, then maybe you should focus on secondhand items instead of trying to be something youre not.
Each and every time I’ve been in this store I’m always pleased with the amount of variety and styles offered at reasonable prices. The store is clean and bright and the staff is always friendly and prompt to offer assistance. Grateful for this location being close to home!
Took clothes to sell matching their current criteria and they didnt offer to buy any. I had brand new jeans with tags still on them. Boots that had never been worn. I just lost weight and never had a chance to wear any of them. Not sure what they meant by condition because I browsed while waiting and there were shirts with holes and armpit stains.
Trendy stuff and very reasonably priced. Store was super clean, well-lit and adequately staffed.
I have been going to this location for years. However, I will not be going back after today. The new manager/owner is extremely rude and their pricing is awful. Super overpriced for resale. It’s disappointing that this location has changed so much and the manager/owner needs to know she cannot talk to customers the way she talked to me
I would not recommend this place to people looking for thrift stores to go to. The prices of the items are almost the same as buying it straight from the retailer. The staff was very rude and had a lot of attitude. A positive attitude goes a long way in customer service.
My daughter loved all her new shirts. Staff was super nice & place is adorable. Will definitely come back again.
A little pricy but not to bad for name brand stuff like lulu, but Other brands shouldn’t be so high, you can just buy it new. Also, I found holes in some clothes. The store makes the clothes smell weird, had to wash the shirt I bought a couple of times.
This is my favorite thrift store it is very well kept and the staff is very polite and helpful. They also carry items that are new which i find nice. I recommend this store to everyone looking for a good used clothing store
The store was well organized, but customer service was lacking. The girls working were rather short when talking with me and they had a bit of an attitude. A smile and a positive disposition goes a long way.
Always clean, and always new selections of name brand clothing to choose from, it’s a staple for any closet
Staff was nice and clothes were amazing! Incredibly affordable!
My sons love shopping and selling here. Staff has always been friendly to us.
I purchased here, they have a good inventory. Selling was a very easy process as well, the girls working there were great at their job and finished my buy very quickly!
Very organized! Tons of great clothing!Owner is up to par with website options!
Uptown is an amazing place to shop. They have a friendly staff and are so helpful. They always have the new styles for cheap prices, and is always my go to store when i’m in need of something particular. 10/10 recommend
I love this Uptown! Amazing selection of clothes, always clean dressing rooms, and the staff is amazing!!!
No good prices for your used clothes and some of the clothes they had especially shoes looked overly worn
This store is amazing for growing teens! We always find great deals on brand name items. Kendra Scott, Kate spade, Nike, LuLuLemon and so much more!! The staff is always helpful in finding exactly what we need.
Usually the selling is quick and friendly, today felt extremely disappointing with the wait and also I followed their criteria but still they didnt took a lot of good clothes ! Dont expect too much or maybe sell online instead for whats worth !
I came into sell some clothes and knowing it was the holidays was very courteous to staff but after waiting over 45 min and noticing that the staff had not even looked at my clothes and they were on the other end of the store talking with each other I asked how much longer it would be and he glanced at the bags (the other 2 employees there turned their backs totally ignoring me) and said oh that’s t-shirts we’re not taking those right now despite many of those were actually not t shirts but denim and dresses. I took the clothes somewhere else and am very disappointed with the bad and frankly unprofessional service I received here.
Love this place! Great bargains and cute clothes for everyone!
My favorite local thrift store! Ive had great experiences both selling and buying. Ive been here quite a number of times and the store is always clean and usually quite organized. Nice dressing rooms, generally a good selection of items. Sometimes the prices seem a bit unreasonable for secondhand items but all in all, Im usually quite happy with the money I save shopping here vs. shopping new. Plus, its more eco-friendly to shop secondhand so I cant complain.Only 4 out of 5 stars because while the selection is good, I do feel it can be better. Its a lot of casual items that only teenagers can get away with wearing, its been hard finding clothing suitable for work sometimes. I also feel like the selection for men is disappointing - Ill look for pieces for my fiance and usually come back empty handed. Ive also seen store employees be a little distracted by their own conversations behind the counter but hey, most of them are just teens themselves so I give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, love it here.
Can’t say enough good things about this store! Everything they sell is super stylish and great quality. The staff is absolutely amazing and above all it is so clean and organized! 11/10 would recommend shopping here for all of your clothing/style needs!
One of the best places to shop at. the people there are always welcoming.
Uptown Cheapskate is a cool place to buy and sell gently used items like clothes shoes watches, purses, etc. I was a little disappointed that they dont buy or sell 3X shirts though 😔
Ive seen cheaper used clothes in other stores. Nice used clothes but almost same price as buying it retail/new.
Great place to shop! Very clean and well organized. The employees were very helpful and efficient. Prices are great with a lot of name brand items. Time to clean out the closets! We will be back for sure!
I was standing there watching from a distance and they didn’t even go through my stuff they open the bag which was a big bag and then looked on top and that was it what a waste of my freaking time!!
Cute store. A tad disappointed they dont offer plus size 😕
Dont go here please !!!!Wont recommend at all 👎
Do NOT waste your time here.I worked at an upscale consignment store for over five years, so going into the store I (thought) I knew what to expect. However, I was very wrong.I brought in many nice and current articles of clothing (Kensie denim, Altard State, Gap, and Tory Burch) and they did not take a single item EXCEPT my like-new Tory Burch crossbody that they were willing to cough up $20 dollars for. I knew not to expect to receive anywhere near what I paid for the clothes, but to not take any of them? Needless to say, I grabbed my things and left.I simply do not understand how they take items from Walmart, but could not accept any of my items. Absolutely ridiculous - - - I will never be going back nor referring them to anyone.
Love this store! Found exactly what we wanted! Workout clothes for strength and conditioning camps and the perfect shorts for summer! Oh and I will add I found the perfect beach bag to make everyone jelly! 😂. Thank you Uptown Cheapskate!
Worst customer service ever by the owner. I was going to buy a dress it had a spot she was so rude to me making me feel as if I was the worst person for asking if it would come out. Her employee was nice saying I’ll hold it and try to get it out. She grabbed it from her and said no someone else can buy it this way and put it back out. I was in shock and she called us difficult in front of customers. Their faces everyone was shocked. She should not be a business owner. Period.
Dont bother. I just left there. I had my eye on my things i brought in to sell the whole time and the lady didnt even bother to go thru it, and called me and said they werent able to take any of my items. Not 1??? Out of a big tub that i brought in, come on just say you didnt want to look thru it.
Nice, clean store with lots of choices and latest brands. Took my granddaughter shopping there today. What bargains we got!! Great personnel! They were kind, friendly and personable. It was altogether a great experience!
Clean, tidy store. Good middle-of-the-road selection of brands. Not a very high ceiling for what you can find (you wont be finding high-fashion pieces), but you will almost always find something decent. Basing my review on the mens section, since that is what I browse.
Hit or miss. They buy stuff but rarely do they take much. The bag sales are good sometimes. They dont sort by style, its by color so be ready to dig around for what you want.
Everyone is so helpful and always greets me as I walk in the door! I always find something awesome that is one of a kind!! I go in about once a week to see whats new! Yeah its one of my favorite stores
They have a great inventory and their employees are wonderful. Way better than Plato’s.
It was too expensive. And staff not very friendly
Similar issue I had with the Lewisville location. Went in today and I made a note to check to see if the woman would even go through my bag and low and behold, she took out one top, placed it back in and then called me. This is ridiculous that you would have someone wait in store for almost 30 minutes to not even go through their items. Take your money and business elsewhere.
Great place to get some new clothes. You can trade in your own clothes for some cash or even store credit with 20% more.
Great place to sell back those quality clothes the kids out grew. You wont get rich but it helps pay for the new stuff. They also have great used stuff for the bargin shopper in all of us.
Horrible customer service. Girls are snotty and disrespectful even when your just paying for your items. So uncomfortable.
I love this place. I found a bunch of things I liked and will definitely come back for more. I also love that the Kid to Kid opened right next door, so you can shop cheap for your kids and yourself.
Not that many clothes for anyone bigger then a medium and mind a expensive I so a jacket from Walmart that is originally $7 at Walmart that was listed for $20 at this place
Great little thrift shop! Clean, bright, and well organized. Ill definitely be back.
I took quite a few new clothes to sell because I have lost a lot of weight, theyre not even a year old, they tell me they were outdated! But as Im looking around its nothing but young and skinny people shopping. Thats why they did not want my clothes because its for older people… really?! theyre still new clothes, hardly worn. I take care of my clothes. They didnt want them because young generation dont want them!
I found the cutest boots at uptown! Everytime I visit the store, it like having my own personal shopper. It has become my go to spot ❤❤❤
Store is in great location and is setup very well. We were greeted immediately, offered a mystery coupon for use in December on our next visit and coached on the ongoing deals/sales. Very friendly and merchandise selection was great. Prices are good too!
I consistently find great clothes here. This store is one of the best thrift stores I have been to. It is clean, the employees are nice, and the selection is great.
Great place to buy clothes. I bought all my kids clothes here once they hit adult sizes and were out growing their clothes every other day. Still one of the first place we go. Name brand clothes, shoes, and purses for a fraction of the cost of the mall. Sometimes still brand new. Dont carry plus sizes.
Clean store, decent selection of very nice clothing, shoes and purses. The staff were professional, helpful and courteous. Will definitely be back.
Another version of a Platos Closet, but I thought it was much more organized and had a lot bigger selection!! I needed to buy solely business casual clothes, and I had no trouble finding lots of them - in fact, I had trouble because I had to narrow down my choices! Got some nice Banana Republic, Tory Burch, and other grown-up womens brand-name clothes. ALL of my clothes are in like-new to brand new condition (where the tags were still on some!!). Will be back soon!
This place has a great selection of men’s items for you for professional and casual use. Very trendy and the staff is so nice and helpful! I enjoy selling and buying here
Good quality used clothing my teenager loves. Affordable pricing.
AJ and Emma and team of staff are amazing. So helpful and kind. No wonder the customers keep coming back!!🙂- John B.
If you’re trying to sell, don’t waste your time by coming here! I’ve tried 3 times to sell really good quality, newly bought items (J-Crew, Charlotte Russe shoes, etc) and they don’t buy because their stock is too full! If you’re buying, they do have cute things, but be prepared to hunt for it!
First time here. I wish i knew the red head cashiers name she was polite and informative. Good selection and got a discount! I will be returning
UPDATED: Their return policy stinks. Store credit only. And the prices werent even that impressive. Stick with Clothes Mentor instead. They at least give you a week to return an unworn item for a full refund. My experience: I sold them some cowboy boots, and I opted for the store credit, since it was $7 more. Bad decision. I couldnt find anything I wanted. I finally purchased 2 items for a little more than the credited amount, but I immediately regretted my purchases. So I returned them and was at least able to get store credit that wouldnt expire. But now I was out the extra cash, too, if I couldnt find anything to buy.A few weeks later, I took my daughter with me. I couldnt find anything for myself, but she managed to find a cardigan and a pair of shoes she liked that didnt have any stains or anything (you have to watch out for that because nearly everything I even considered was stained or damaged and thats why I couldnt get anything for myself). I still had a few dollars of credit left, though, so I decided to spend it (plus extra, again) on a hat for my husband, because that was the only other thing we could find that we liked. I should have just written off the $4. I would have come out ahead. It doesnt look good on him. But the store is 30 minutes away, so I wasnt able to make it back in within the 14 days to try to exchange it for another store credit. Now Im stuck with a hat no one will wear. I tried my whole family. If I had taken the $25 for the boots, I would have only been out about $2 extra for the usable items my daughter came away with. Instead, Im out about $12 total... Because I went with the store credit. My advice... Dont take store credit if you sell to them. UNLESS you first find something you absolutely love and youve tried it on and its perfect and doesnt have any stains or rips or bad seems or anything. Otherwise, youll spend a few dollars extra every single time you make an exchange...Store credit.... Purchase for a few dollars more.... Returned for new, higher credit.... Purchased for a few days dollars more.... Should have returned one item for another store credit. Now just out that money because its been over 14 days. But at least the cycle is broken and I wont lose any more. But, after everything, I ended up making $20 for the boots when I would have gotten $25 if I had walked away with the cash instead of the $32 credit.
The clothes were decent but the prices were really high for it being a “thrift” store!
This location has a nice selection of clothes and a non-judgmental attitude...which is nice. Their prices are competitive, but keep an eye out for the new items, as theyre mixed in with the pre-owned ones...and the price will tell you that its new. Dont get me wrong, the price is less than what youd pay at a department store, but its quite a bit more than what you would expect from a place like this or Platos Closet.
This place is clean and tidy. Looks like a high end boutique but has prices like a used clothing store (which it is). I will do more shopping here.
My daughter loves coming to Uptown Cheapskate to find her favorite pieces to wear. The store is always clean and smiling faces to greet us and help are nice to see when shopping .
Not impressed. High prices for used clothing. Wont go back
Weird people currently working here. Customer service is nonexistent. Wasnt greeted or asked if we needed help. We were just looked at suspiciously like they thought we were going to steal or something. Then all the employees gathered at the other end of the store and appeared to be gossiping. I went closer to where they were and then they dispersed. Bunch of snobby kids. Will not be coming back here. 99% of the stuff in there is junk anyway.
Awful. Brought a bunch of cute stuff. Maxi dress, party dress (Romeo and Juliette Couture), a bunch of fun spring skirts from the Limited and only 3 items got priced out for $16. I was told Maxi dresses werent selling (its the end of April) as well as business skirts (um). Dont waste your time. Sell it online. Terrible business model.
Pricey
Nice stuff, well sorted. Friendly, helpful staff.
This store has a better selection for men compared to the others. Clean inside and quick, friendly employees
Very good place to buy nice brands and use and new clothes
I was only given 6 dollars combined for a PACSUN shirt and a Vera Bradley purse that was was in excellent condition (originally it was $40!). The staff was not welcoming nor clear in their instructions, and it felt as if they were bullying me into donating the items hey wouldn’t buy. I had brought it a $100 never used Dooney and Burke purse, just for them to throw it down in a pile of donations with just one glance. I could have sold that on eBay! I have come here a few times hoping I would get more each time, but every time I’m left disappointed and angry by their attitude. Never coming back.
Not impressed with employee here. Seems to hate their job and take it out on customers. Also they didn’t even look through my things. I drove to this location bc Dallas wasn’t in need of things i had to get rid of. I specifically went through my clothes to see what was relevant to this locations Needs (according to site). Totally understand if it really wasn’t stuff they needed, however Literally my stuff hadnt been looked through when i picked it up...(could tell by looking at the basket) also they called me 15 mins after i dropped off after they told me it would be 2 hours. All other locations I’ve been to have been pleasant, this one is mediocre. If you’re going to blatantly waste my time, I’m going to blatantly leave an honest review of my experience. Thanks
Amazing, good quality clothes at a low price! Best resale shop in DFW!
Visted for the first time and loved it! Great selections, great staff, and gorgeous store! It was nice, clean, and organized!! I will be back!
Wonderful employees, amazing prices, trendy clothing, and all in good condition! I find amazing deals here every time I come in.
Lauren was a sweetheart and the store is extremely well kept! Definitely doesnt seem like thrift shopping! Awesome experience!
Friendly... And lots of great stuff.
The name fits!! worst place ever to sell clothes to. My husband took in 5 pairs of Dockers jeans with the tags still on them(theyre 50-60$ jeans mind you)THEY OFFERED US 20 DOLLARS!!! HOW CHEAP CAN YOU BE? 300$ in brand-new jeans that they would upsell like crazy. This place is a joke.
Love UC!! My two daughters and I shop here all the time!
Great shopping and great staff. Enjoyed shopping there.
I got an Altard $30 tank top for $3 but then with a sale $1.50 ! Same with some $40 shorts that were so cute! I am coming back tomorrow for a 15% off sale!
Good selection of all types of clothing!
GREAT DEALS clean organized sir and remind me of the Platos Closet concept with a much better appearance and staff (customer service)
Wonderful ppl working here
Way better than Platos closet with a huge selection and great sales!
The mens selection can be a little small at times, esp. for my size... but what they do have is in good shape and still trendy.
Some a bit pricey for used but found some good seals
I love this place, staff is always friendly! And they have so much variety of clothes and shoes !
Very nice and organized thrift shop!
Wish they had more selections but the prices are good.
They have amazing deals for young and hip clothes! I tell all my friends and family about this place!
Lots of nice clothes and at a good price. I love the place.
Always great clothes at good prices. Clean and friendly atmosphere.
Super clean. Friendly staff
This is a franchise similar to Platos Closet and Clothes Mentor. The merchandise is not as outre as the former. Uptown Cheapskate seems more geared toward good, basic name brands at decent prices.
Nice stuff. Well organized.
They have good clothes here.
