Friendly staff and great service. They always do a good job and give straight up feedback.
Pick up husbands vehicle. Good so far.
They have helped me out twice with my daughters car once with the starter when a mechanic stayed late to get it done on 4th of July weekend so she would have her car the other was fixing the air conditioner when again they went above an beyond to get it done before she went back to grad school they have all my business forever
These guys are great! Very fast and professional and a great value. They break down all the charges and clearly explain whats going on with your car. They definitely go the extra mile to make sure your vehicle is in good shape.
Excellent service and great people
My family and I were driving from Nebraska to New Jersey and suddenly heard a very loud noise. We were on route 80 and our tire tread came off. We are pulling a travel trailer in the tire was on the travel trailer. By the grace of God he led us to this amazing tire facility.Being in the middle of nowhere far from New Jersey we were desperate and Scott could’ve charged us any amount of money that he wanted. He took care of us within 15 minutes after we got there even though he was so busy he put on four brand new excellent Goodyear tires. For anyone in the area of freedom tire’s you’re crazy if you go any place else and for anybody traveling through Altoona Iowa don’t even bother looking for another place because they will not have the professionalism the quality the kindness and integrity that freedom tires has to offer!!!!Thank you again Scott Aaron and Beck!!!! Bless you and your family’s!!!!
I made an appointment on their website to get an oil leak fixed but they never responded. I thought this might have been a mistake so I emailed them and they still never responded. Its been more than a week so I think Im just out of luck and should just go to a different service center.
I once asked a retired auto mechanic if he could refer me to a good mechanic in town, or tell me the best way to go about finding one. He answered, Good luck. How encouraging. Finding a good auto mechanic is no fun, at least in my experience. Having been to several, I think I have a pretty good sense of the ones who are affordable but dont seem to fix the problem, and the ones who can fix the problem but will charge you a small fortune. It took a little shopping around but I found a place that I trust and will never go anywhere else. Ill spare you the story, but Ill just tell you that a recent experience proved to me that Scott (the owner?) values the integrity and customer service of his business above all else. He went way above and beyond making everything right... and get this, he wasnt even in the wrong, I WAS!!Outstanding service, fair prices, friendly people. Solid. I hope this helps.
My husband and I have been going to them since we moved to the area a couple years ago! We are always so happy with our service here! Whatever our need is (tires/oil changes) they are always so helpful and friendly! We have mentioned multiple times how we would not go anywhere else!
The best will recommend to everyone!
This a long overdue review. I was traveling through IA early February with a 29 foot trailer loaded with heavy maple bowling alley flooring. I was alerted that one of my trailer tires was blown, I got off the interstate immediately and found a tire shop. Freedom Tire in Altoona was the closest to my location. I called to make sure they had the size I needed in stock. Scott the store manager assured me they had what I needed. I slowly made my way to his store, it was tricky getting my trailer into their lot but once I was in I was quickly and professionally taken care. Was back on the road with four new tires (couldn’t say no to Scott’s offer) within 45 minutes! Hopefully the time I blow a tire I’m near this location and Scott is still there!
Around a year ago, I had slow leak in a tire. I was looking for a place very close to home (I didnt want to drive far with a slow leak) so I took it here and they fixed it for very little money. I was pretty impressed. I then decided to start using them for oil changes, and finally all my car maintenance. I wont say where I was going before, but the difference in service and price is night and day.Just today, I had my rear brake pads replaced in one of my cars. They actually charged me less than the estimate. This has never happened to me at any other shop. I always would be charged the estimate, or even a little over.Granted, I could change my own pads and/or do my own oil changes to save money, but I actually dont feel like Im being overcharged when I take my cars here. Ill gladly pay someone to take care of these hassles for me, especially when they do it for a fair price. A+
We were on vacation over 600 miles away when our RV had 2 flat tires on I80. They were so helpful and fast in repairs.
Pulling a truck and trailer, found screw in tire. Stopped to get fixed and turned us away.
We were 4.5 hours away from home with something huge hanging from the bottom of our car & they got us in right away (even while busy). They got our problem fixed in 20 minutes & we were on our way! Very friendly & quick & we are very grateful for their help!
These guys are great! Not only do I love the location, as its so close to my home, but they are honest and quick. I never feel they are telling me to fix something that does not need fixed. In fact I come in wondering about things and they say its fine. Highly Recommend!
I have had both my vehicles serviced here for tires & was impressed both times. They will give you multiple quotes if the service you are looking for has those options (tires) & are genuinely looking to help you out & get you back on the road. I was so impressed I am now looking into what other services they provide so I can help out this local business.
The guys at Freedom Tire are always very helpful and professional. I think they do a great job of assessing the needed repairs and explaining the work and costs to me. I will definitely go back to them for service.
Friendly staff, seems very knowledgeable. Have gotten a few oil changes here. Main reason for 2 stars is the over charging in services...$406 for a new alternator ?!$160 for a new battery ?!$40 for an oil changeI will not return here.
Great customer service! Might be one of the last places that truly focus on making sure the customer is happy and provided great service.
We were traveling through Iowa and had a hole in our tire... Making us stop every 45 miles for a tire fill up. By the time we got to Altoona we knew we needed a repair... The people at Freedom Tire were SO FRIENDLY and got us right in, which was a huge relief since we still had 5 hours ahead of us. The price was reasonable, and we were impressed with their level of customer service. Even small touches like having an inviting atmosphere: a nice mix of magazines, comfortable seating, and clean restrooms in the waiting area. I highly recommend.
Theyve been taking care of us for years. Unlike McManus, they diagnose the problem and present you with options.
We brought our 2008 Ford F-350 in for a tire rotate and balance. We took our lunch early at 11:00 to bring it in. When we left we got 1/2 mile away and the weight fell off. We turned around, picked the weight up out of the road and took it back. When we got there, they told us we had to come back at 1:00 because all the techs were out to lunch. I said no, I already took my lunch early to bring it in, you need to call him back here to fix his mistake. He proceeded to tell me he could not do that. At that point another man came from the back and told me they would refund our money because they should not have done any work on a truck with our size tires on it anyway. I said you mean to tell,me you worked on a truck you were not equipped to work on, AND screwed it up? He said well I would not have done it. At that point I walked out and they gave my husband a refund!! BAD BUSINESS
Get my oil changed here frequently. Kind and professional staff, great service. The first time I changed my oil here, they pointed out a problem they noticed under my car. I knew they were being honest because they were unable to do the repair and the problem was visible. Thanks a million!
Im from out of town and had some car troubles. I stopped here off the interstate and they fixed it promptly and at a reasonable cost.
Today was the second time my husband has stopped in there just to be treated terribly by the front desk staff...never again will we be stopping in here for anything as simple as a leaking valve on a tire! Absolute terrible customer service! It doesnt matter how busy you are it doesn’t take much to be a decent person. Dont bother responding back..thanks
Have lived in Altoona for 3 years and have for a while taken our vehicles here when needed as well as family members in town. Up until now it has been fine nothing extraordinary but got things in and fixed with no problems. I recently had my chevy truck towed in for repair as it did not start. It was towed and dropped off and spent the next almost 5 weeks, YES 5 weeks in the same place not being moved, not in the shop to try and repair. I stopped a few times and called a few times to find out the status. I was given so many excuses and the same excuses each time. First going to borrow a tow strap from an employee. then the had to order a tow strap which after they told me that and i stopped in almost 2 weeks later was told it just came in. OReillys 3 block away. Was told time and time again that the see the truck every day and they want to get it back to me and they need to get it in the shop. No apology, seemingly no concern that I had been without it for almost 5 weeks and only we need to get it in the shop for you Finally one of the last times I was in and they said they would get it in and it still didnt happen I HAD to have it Towed again to another repair shop to be fixed. It was towed on a tuesday to another shop and they said they were busy but would look at it as soon as they could that thursday they looked at it and found out what was wrong with it and it was fixed and running by friday and I picked it up on Saturday. That new repair shop has some new customers myself and my family members. I will never go back to Freedom tire again. I really dont understand how a business would keep a vehicle for almost 5 weeks and never even get it in the shop. I WILL NEVER GO BACK and if asked where i go for repair I will let people know where I go and where I would not go. I rarely do reviews and have waited a while to give this review as I was very upset about the lack of attention to my vehicle so wanted to remain calm and only relay the facts about my experience. I know things can happen however 2 tows and 5 weeks with nothing being done does not in my mind deserve a second chance
I was driving from chicago to Phoenix when I hit something on the road and then the light on the dash saying the tire pressure was low came on. I quickly looked to the closest tire place which was this location. Once I walked in the manager greeted me and I explained my crisis. He then said I cannot help you until Tuesday. What I thought it’s saturday????Then I returned to my car in the lot to find my tire completely flat.Next I called a roadside service for over $100. Then I began to empty my car. Like most people when traveling I had packed quite a bit.A worker inside came to ask me if I was told that they could not help. I told him yes and he began to get my spare out and take off the flat to replace it. A bit later the manager came out to tell him they had too much work and would be there past 6. He then looked at me and said they charge $10 to change a tire. REALLY???? From the man who could not help me and now he wants $10. I told him I had called roadside service and it costs over $100. He asked what he was supposed to do? I told him it was called being a human being. It was only taking his worker 10 mins and he said he could not help. He then told his worker never to do that again. This man is a sad representation of a human. All he cared about was getting to go home at6pm. I say thank you to that kind gentleman worker who took the time to help me.The manager for this store will some day get his kindness and generosity right back at him. When he least expects it.
Always friendly service!
Very friendly, helpful and quick.
I had bought in my tires there I didnt get their warranty but they charged me $30 to fix a flat
I just want to say Freedom Tire in Altoona has great customer service, they are fair and fast and treat you like a person and not a wallet...thank you to them for helping me and making it a great experience
They let you know things what will need to be fixed in the near future and give you estimates on them.
Latest visit 12/18/19 no sticker for oil change, maintenance light was on, mileage wasnt documented on receipt.
Always have great service here!
Great customer service.
Great service
