I used to love Fox Bldg Supply. Bad experience today with a return. Check-out person was very nice and helpful, but policy was to take a 20% restock fee after 45 days (long story). After talking to a manager, he couldnt do anything because of store policy and had no desire to apologize. So much for small town benefits. Items were unopened and still had price tags. They were purchased this summer.All I can say is buy there if you want but dont wait to see if youll need it without marking your calendar. Nowadays there can be lots of wait time between projects if you cant do-it-yourself.I have spent a lot of money there but I wont go back the way this was handled. That wont put them out of business, but Ill feel better about sticking with my principles...all this over $30. I went and bought 5 gallons of paint elsewhere, happily paying more for better paint at a business that appreciates their customers.

Very nice yard. Inside everything a builder needs and hardware that is hard to get anywhere. They still have the old school things not much different from years gone by, along with the new that has been as current as it can get. The drive through lumber buildings are very nice in protection from heat and rain for the ease of your loading with plenty of yard help to get you loaded. Very nice run yard. Well stocked store and very helpful staff. Ive seen negative reviews about prices being to high or staff being unhelpfull, neither are true. The prices are comparable to home depot or lowes (prices are high everywhere unfortunately) and the staff is very helpfull. Try getting help loading (or finding a staff member for that matter) at home depot. Im in this store 3-4 times a week and ive never had a bad expierence.

This places is consistently overpriced, but shop local so it’s expected. But the customer service is ALWAYS Slow, and the cashiers are rude. Half the time they’re on their phones or eating something while customers wait on them to check out.

Bought a chainsaw and got great help from the guy who works that area. He went above and beyond to make sure it ran before I got it. I would recommend that store.

Great lumber and hardware selection as well as lawn and garden goodies. Very reasonable prices and very friendly and knowledgeable employees. A refreshing difference from the boxer stores!! I bought a new hot water heater $65.00 cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot stocked. And it was a name brand unit. Im super impressed !

The store is organized. The staff are nice. The way they have tape down at the registers is a little complicated - having two seperate lines for each register. Nice store though - for gardening supplies, plumbing, carpet and vinyl. Almost like a miniature home depot.

Very kind and courteous customer service the employee she went over and beyond the call of duty thank you again.

Always a good experience and folks work hard to help you.

I work for a livin. I make decent money. I go in this place and have associates follow me around. I dont care for that. Having someone come up and ask me if I need help every 1.5 minutes is quite irritating. Look I understand loss prevention and theft are important. But what am I going to steal in a tight pare of wranglers and a tucked in shirt that fit. Come on. Leave me alone. Great product though. The lumber is the best. This rating is for the harassing nature of the environment.

Love shopping local! Yes its a bit higher BUT if I dont support the local economy, this place will be gone along with those jobs and then ANOTHER empty building. The good thing is that if they dont have it, they will be happy to order it!

It was difficult at 1st to find someone to help me. Everybody working there seemed to have something they needed to do 1st . Once I found somebody I received the best helpful service that Ive ever gotten at a hardware store.

NOT an Ace Hardware Store, and will not honor Ace membership, regardless of the big ACE sign on the front of this building. There is an Ace a couple miles away that also has free fresh popcorn and coffee. Fox employees are not welcoming, but store is big and had lots of products.

The only reason I go there is because it is the only place in town to get some items. Very few of the employees will help and less know what they are talking about. It is quicker than driving to Lawton though.

So are you a feed store or a lumber yard? I really know the answer but business would be better if you focused on one thing and did it well. Also something needs to be done about the lazy yard guys!

Its not Lowes or Home Depot but its what we have here. Pretty good as far as Im concerned however anxiously awaiting the ACE to have competition. 6 2x4, a 4x4 sheet of plywood, 1 lb of screws and some wood filler was almost $60. Factor in gas to Lawton I suppose thats a steal!

The store workers are excellent. If you cant find something, they take you right to it.

Convenient to have if you need something immediately but the pricing is high compared to the internet. My example a garbage disposal the three they had displayed in the store, Amazon had the exact same three model numbers, and all three were exactly $20 higher at Foxs then on Amazon.

If you think this place is high....drive to Vernon. 37 bundles of shingles cost $678 in Altus.... identical shingle....name brand....everything will cost you $1,147 in Vernon.Thats a hard dose of medicine to swallow... get you some of that and you will be happy to deal with this hardware/lumber yard. No, I dont like paying $8,50 for a 1x4....no wonder houses are costing so much.Just a reality check, I will drive 43 miles to Altus just to close the doors in Vernon!!!!

A real hardware store that proves Lowes and Home Depot are not hardware stores. Every item we needed we found. The staff is very friendly and helpful and know their hardware.They staff lots of employees so if you need to find one you can within 15 seconds find one. Not like Lowes or Home Depot where you cannot find help very easy and often they cannot help you anyway.In addition you have employees always coming up to you offering help. This store spoiled me and unfortunately is 1,000 miles from my home.Ron

These guys wont run when they see a customer like alot of Lowes employees do. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, which is all I can expect from someone that works at a hardware/building material store. I ordered some lumber and it was delivered the very next day. But they did make a mistake on the order and brought single well cinder blocks, the kind no one ever uses, instead of the double well cinder blocks that I ordered. At first the guy in charge that delivered the goods tried to say I ordered single well cinder blocks, that he was standing right there when i ordered them, then when I said no I did not he looked at the invoice and rolled his head back in defeat. And Im glad it ended there. Screwing up an order and trying to convince the customer that thats what they ordered because the employee cant own up to making a totally careless mistake due to total laziness is the bottom of the barrel of business practices. But thankfully he had the invoice handy so there was no angry outbursts with me asking him if hes calling me a liar in my own backyard because he cant own up to not doing his job and making sure his subordinate grabbed the right items by double checking the invoice before leaving the lumber yars, and then calling the supervisors back at the lumber yard and giving them a piece of my mind, which they in turn would have given him a piece of their mind for screwing up. They sent one employee with the cinder blocks I ordered. The guy in charge didnt come back with him, and probably blamed his subordinate for the whole thing. On second thought Im taking off 3 stars for that incident. The materials were good quality for the price, and delivery only costed 65 bucks and I live 35 miles away from altus where home depot wont deliver to. Other than that incident I was happy with the services I paid for. But that incident was a pretty big deal.

Its the most diverse selection in town but pales to other big box hardware stores. Prices are average.
