We booked a sailing charter for six days out of Annapolis. Dan, the base manager, was very upfront and transparent that we would be on an older 42.5” Dufor which was much appreciated. The sail itself was fantastic! Our boat was comfortable and sailed smoothly. Dan was very helpful in going over all the equipment and inventory beforehand and making sure we had everything we needed. He also had us make a running list of anything we found amiss during our sail to make sure the company could address it after our charter. We ended up coming back a day early due to weather which was no big deal. All in all we had a wonderful time.
We chartered one of their power catamarans from their Nassau base.Although the charter got off to a rocky start, due to the owner bending the rudder a couple of days prior and the mechanics still working on it when we got there, the rest of the trip was fantastic. The boat was in great condition. Yes a few minor things were not working or stopped working while we were on it. But anyone who owns or owned a boat knows that with boats it is inescapable to have things break. The refund process, for time lost while waiting for the rudder to be fixed, was quick and painless. Thank you DYC
Ive chartered 20 bareboats from varying companies...twice from this company. Take my advice and DO NOT swallow the beautiful marketing pics. Theres nothing beautiful, professional or honest about this charter company.
Ill make this straight to the point. We booked a Yacht Catamaran Charter, we received confirmation email, John and Juliana emailed me indicating our Yacht was reserved with all the details of what will be provided and additional costs. 5 days prior to setting sail they indicating they gave away our reservation to another party and apologized for giving our yacht away and ruining 9 peoples vacation. They didnt even try to help. There are other charter companies, who are now aware of this, and are working to help us as this reflects badly on the entire yacht charting community. There are much better companies who dont lie and I see I am not the first person to run into such egregious issues.Beware, they lie, and there are better companies. To the comment below:This is unfortunately once again, a lie. I booked the boat on Friday, and received a confirmation email with my confirmation number and all information pertaining to my boat. There was in fact no way to make a deposit. I reached out to speak to someone and obtain more information so I could make a deposit to secure a boat and sent emails over the weekend. Keep in mind I was told my boat was secure until Tuesday, but I wanted to bind it. With no replies Monday morning I sent a follow up email to call to move things quicker. Several hours later I received an email saying they gave my reservation away. A mixture of lies and incompetence was the result of this, and reading reviews this is somewhat common with this company. There are a lot of companies that do the exact same thing, I would highly recommend going with one of them.
Dream Yacht Charter is an unscrupulous entity and you should not trust them. Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 we entered into a negotiation with DYC for the charter of two catamarans in Greece in Sept 2020. In anticipation of a successful negotiation surrounding the terms of the charter contract we provided them with a $6,300 deposit. The COVID19 pandemic hit which obviously makes it reckless to get into the tight quarters of two catamarans with 16 people. On top of that, Greece will not permit Americans to enter because the virus is not controlled here. This would obviously make it impossible for us to travel to the port of embarkation. Further, in the middle of the negotiation, DYC swapped out the contract on the table and replaced it with one that essentially makes us their pandemic insurance policy. The new contract would leave them with no risk and the right to keep our money. We advised them that we could not sign either contract nor could we pursue a charter with them in Sept or any other time. Their response was it is their policy not to return money. These people are thieves and stole our money. There are lots of trustworthy #charter companies out there. DO NOT USE DREAM YACHT CHARTER, THEY ARE SCAMMERS.#sailing #catamaran #bareboat #Caribbean #BVI #ScrewedByDYC
After using Dream Yacht Charter for a few consecutive years, we have decided no more. We booked a trip with them last Fall to do a charter in Sardinia in September 2020. We paid the required deposit and noted that should we need to cancel, if it was 120 days or more out, we would receive our deposit minus 500 pounds. Unfortunately 3 of our group had to cancel (1 due to illness, and 2 due to a family crisis). Regardless of why, the contract says we could get our deposit back. Now, its not so. DYC is refusing to return the deposit and says we can only transfer our money to another trip. They are trying to use the current pandemic as their reasoning. But our cancellation has nothing to do with the pandemic -- we had other legitimate reasons to cancel and requested the cancellation within the 120 day window. Now, all of us are out over $600.00. I am astounded that DYC would so blatantly ignore the terms of their contract and treat returning customers this way. We will now be forced to take legal action to compel DYC to abide by the terms of the contract. We will be spreading the word of this via social media with an extended outreach.
Our charter on aquatopia was not the best to say the least. Nothing about our experience was enjoyable, and no it was not just due to weather conditions. Our captain should not be in the hospitality industry- he did not want to speak whatsoever and no one ever knew what was going on or where we were. When asked a question all you would get was the occasional grunt or shrug. He spoke English perfectly fine when he wanted to. The front desk lady warned us that he has “a funny sense of humor- and most guests think he’s a bit weird”. That is putting it lightly. His rudeness and acting that he doesn’t understand is crazy. I run a marine hospitality business and it is truly disgusting how this charter experience went. I understand the captain might have experience sailing but he had absolutely no experience where to go with various weather conditions. He knew we had a strong west wind the first day but still sailed us to Guana just to tell us anchoring was not possible (as he damn well should have known before). He continually did this all week just to say ‘oh, you saw this you saw that’ checking off the boxes. If he looked at the weather conditions we could have hit every spot in favorable conditions. But obviously he did not care. 12 people, as both the captain and cook said is far too many for that boat. With 12 people the stew was way overworked and was essentially just a cook as she had no other time to do anything else. The boat itself astounded me when the captain said it was 3 years old. It could very well pass as a 10 year old boat.We were overly excited to come on this charter and use you in other areas of the world we travel but after this experience it is not possible.Personally I would in no way charge any of my clients for service like this.
Great customer service! Also, a great dedication to do all they can to make the client happy. Have No Reservations in making return bookings. Marshall Ferrin

I just had the worst experience I have ever had with a charter co. I have been sailing and chartering sailboats for 40 years. Do not use Dream Yacht Charters. This is a terrible co. I could not post without clicking a star but I did not want to put a 1 star here.
Top charter company
So after purchasing a 2021 Bali 5.4 thru Dream Yacht Group and finding out after 7+ Months of trying to get them to approve warranty work to be repaired I have come to the realization that they care more about their bottom line than any of their customers and leave those holding the bill. Stay clear of these guys.I have included two of my many issues with my new boat that they continue to drag their feet on in hopes that I will just go away and eat the coat of the repairs that are clearly warranty issues. Not going to happen.I’d love to post my website but I can’t. A simple search for Dreamyacht Fraud will show more information1 star to 2 too many
