Oct. 2, 2020 - Exploring Apex, NC with our daughter and her boyfriend. . . our first stop was the Beer Dispensary, established in 2010. Located at 112 North Salem St. . . . parking can be difficult. Pre-Covid their website suggests theres a bar, with taps, serving selected beers to folks between the hours of 4 -7 pm Wed & Thurs. and 3 to 7 pm on Fri. & Sat. Due to Covid . . . no taps, and no serving open beers! Theres hundreds of beer choices!Shopping for beer is a must here !Shelves & shelves of Imported, Domestic beers in bottles & cans, meads, and hard ciders! Their beer styles include ales, largers, meads, sessions, wheats, etc. Being a former home brewer of beers . . . Imagine the difficulty picking out a couple of beers!Their website mentions the following:*Over 90 North Carolina Beers*Over 50 Belgium Beers*4 Polish Beers*8 UK Beers*Over 90 United States Beers*13 Meads*19 Hard Ciders*7 Glutten Free Beers*3 Hard SeltzersI finally selected two:A. Pisgah Doppelbock Dark German larger( Brewery in Black Mt. N.C. )B. Hr. Frederiksen Imperial Stout( Amager Brewers in Denmark)Both excellent first time beers! Over all, Id rate the beer choices a 5! But . . . until the Covid era is over with a return of the taps to sample beers on site with snacky bits I can only award the Beer Dispensary a rating of 4 .Beer Notes:Mead - higher alc. level than most beers,honey used to ferment malt.Ale - Add yeast to malt, it reactschemically at the top of maltusually around 70 degrees.Larger - Add yeast to malt, it reactschemically at the bottom ofof malt, usually around 50 deg.

Overwhelmingly variety of brews from EVERYWHERE!! Friendly staff. Looks like a place to visit often!!!

Extensive beer selection, great prices. Pre-covid my wife and I walked down every Friday evening to get beer on tap. We cant wait to do that again. The bottle/can selection is great, and the owner is an awesome and knowledgeable guy.

We have had the best experience here. Pouring down rain. We have our golden retriever with us and they have no problem with him being in the store. Super pet friendly and absolutely no TVs! One of the best things! The Cider is amazing and the staff is super helpful!! This will become a regular place for us!

They have a great selection of beer in a prime location. Their only issue is the business model makes no sense unless this is a part time business. I have yet to speak with another person in Apex that understands why this business is closed two days a week and closes at 6pm other days. Many people including myself dont understand closing at 6pm on week days, they miss an entire crowd of people getting off work and looking to stop into the store. 4 stars for a great beer selection, minus 1 because they make so sense.

Great place in downtown Apex! Friendly staff at a family owned local business. Great place to stock up on beer or to try some brews that are off the beaten path, and engage in some great conversation.

Great selection of local beers and decent from NC and beyond. Can drink cans on site plus cooler charge. Offers a customer loyalty program which is nice! Weekday hours are a bit weird closing at 6, but thats the only complaint.

Love this place! I have been going here since it first opened years ago and was around the corner. Tim the owner knows his stuff, friendly and remembers you. Great selection and never disappoints. Also ask if there is anything in the back. If you are trying to find something special, he just might have it.

Be very careful of the cork fees. No signs and they open stuff and say you owe me $2. This was for opening a can of beer. WTF!

Such a down to earth place with such a large selection of local and international beers. The best part of the Dispensary in my opinion is the bar and tables. You feel at home. Its such a warm vibe filled with folks who know their beer.

I went to The Beer Dispensary for the Chambers ribbon cutting when they first opened and have been going back ever since. Its a great place to grab one of the new beers on tap and have a cold drink while you explore the shop. The selection is amazing and Tim really knows his product. (Hes usually got some pretty cool music playing when you stop in.) Keep up the good work, Tim!

Fun place. Great selection. You can tell that lots goes into the curation of the beers. Scored a bottle of Canadian breakfast stout weeks after it was sold out everywhere else.

Love this place. I can always find something new to try. It has such a comfortable atmosphere. Tonight there was an excellent musician singing Irish ditties.

Variety of beers in any flavor you can think of. Taps are shut off 15 minutes before close. Nice spot to visit for Apex residents.
