We recently bought a 2007 gray prius from this dealer. We originally found the car and dealer through Craiglist. When we called the dealer, whose name is Diego, we asked for the carfax at least 2 times while on the phone. He stated that he used to have it but no longer has it due to it being too expensive to have lately. He said but rest assured, I ONLY deal with clean and non damaged titles, my license is only valid for clean titles. When we went there in person, the carfax was asked for, for this car in specific. Again the dealer said that he only deals with clean titles because its too much headache to deal with salvaged, repaired, rebuilt titles and etc. He said multiple times that he is an honest and trustworthy guy who isnt out to harm anyone for any reason and has no reason to lie. We believed what was being told to us and went ahead and continued to buy the car. We took it for a test drive, even talked down the price a little. The dealer mentioned multiple times that this was his personal car he had been using and that it was in perfect condition. This was said as a way to ensure confidence on to us buying the car. Less than 2 months of use and the car simply stopped working in the middle of rush hour on I4. We ended up taking it to a Toyota dealership based out of Deland as that was the nearest place we were able to tow it to at the time. The news from the Toyota dealership only got worse and worse as each day passed. First they had to put in a completely new engine due to there not being ANY oil in the engine for quite a while now, which again the dealer ensured me that he had recently put oil in it, and the radiator had a lot of holes in it and was leaking from a lot of different places. This all because the car had been in a previous CRASH, from the front and back! All of which the dealer lied about saying that there was never any accidents or damage and stated the title was indeed clean no problems had ever happened with the car. I understand AS IS warranty from places like these and am fully aware of the consequences that were being taken. My concern is why lie about essentially EVERYTHING??? Had the dealer been honest, we wouldve reconsidered the buy and possibly not gone through with it for the sake of not dealing with any more headaches or problems. The fact that he kept ensuring he had changed the oil, that all of his cars are clean titles with no problems or damages. Now not even 2 months after having bought the car, I am down an additional 4 thousand dollars because I had to get the entire engine replaced, and get a new radiator all because the dealer wanted to make a quick buck. I am extremely unhappy, unsatisfied, and beyond annoyed with the entire situation.HE WILL BE FACING CHARGES, AS I HAVE PROOF FROM THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP OF ALL OF THE FACTS LISTED ABOVE. DO NOT BUY FROM HIM. DISHONEST DEALER, HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY!
