I’m honestly surprised at the bad reviews considering this was not my experience in the slightest.Terry is truly amazing. He is friendly and funny, and honestly so likable you WANT to buy a car from him. The bonus is that he not only makes sure that the used cars he sells aren’t garbage, on the chance that something does go wrong, his cars come with a warranty. It was seriously a no-brainer. Thank you so much, Terry, for making a usually stressful experience so easy.

Brought a car from him no haggle, fine…. Test drive around the area a bit was good. A few things I noticed but figured regular maintenance. Got on highway after purchase, smoking, and got home the head gasket was not even screwed in all the way poor mechanic, oil everwhere… terry never reached me and 1k later fix still not 100%. Poor service. Not reliable cars. Wouldn’t recommend.

My wife and I went to Terrys U Save Auto on 12/16/2020 to look at a Mazda we saw on line for my daughter s first vehicle. As soon as we pulled up Terry came outside to greet us. I told him I would like to test drive the Mazda. And he went and got the keys. It was a little out my price range and he suggest another vehicle. 02 Toyota Corolla. We test drove it and my wife and I like the vehicle and ended up buying that one. Terry was not pushy, very friendly, and let us test drive whatever we wanted. I will definitely recommend Terrys shop to anyone. Looking forward to doing business with him again.

The owner Terry is absolutely wonderful! He was very friendly and helpful, as soon as we walked onto the lot he came out and let me test drive pretty much everything and went back to a couple and re-test drove that as well. We were there for a couple of hours and he never seemed annoyed with me, nor was he pushy about buying a car that day. We did however purchase a car that day and for being quite a few years old the car is in wonderful condition. Terry also offered a short term warranty! Terry my gf bought a 2004 white dodge intrepid off u in october still no plates the mail we call u. U give us the run around. Its now march. Temp tags didnt match car at all got pulled over got a ticket of course. Whats going on? Guess will be going the Secretary of State to have them solve the problem

I seen the car i wanted online i came by to check it out.. Terry was kool, handed me the keys let me start her up..Answered any questions i had about the vehicle, than let me take a test drive.I ended up purchasing the car.. Its been two month and i havent had any issues.. I would definitely do business with Terry again.

Update: Terry all I can say is Wow to your comment. The car was sold with the worn existing tires among other issues (For the record getting nails in a tire while driving doesnt constitute abuse of the vehicle) In 6 months of owning the car, my son put only 220 miles on the car driving to school and back home. Some of the many issues: catalytic converter, leaking radiator, air bag malfunction, multiple oil leaks, transmission, wind shield wiper fluid not working. Specifically, the transmission was a problem from the start but you refused to look at it due to the check engine light was not on. Your comment was get a tune up. I have text messages from you telling me I am on mine own with the transmission. It is very obvious you do not check your vehicles before putting them for sale.You did help with some of the issues that happened withing the 30 day warranty period because you were obligated (still wasnt easy). You have been difficult to work with from day one. I stand by my original comment to you that the car you sold me was a lemon. You are volatile and your mood swings made it difficult to do business with. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM U SAVE AUTO.I purchased a vehicle a few months ago and ended up sinking in more in repairs than the purchase price of the vehicle. The last repair of many was to rebuild the transmission, even though Terry indicated that the car was mechanically sound at time of purchase. I tried to give Terry the benefit of the doubt but ultimately I regret doing business with him. Please beware!!

I was looking for a decent price range for a used vehicle for a growing family. Looked online and drove several lots and ending up at Terrys U Save Autos. My wife and I came down looked around and spotted a vehicle with an 8 passenger vehicle and asked for a test drive. The vehicle ran great and very clean in and out with a good carfax. The car didnt have air condition which the website said it had. I asked him that it wasnt working and he fixed it that day we took it home. I also mentioned him about the rust on the vehicle and he told me to bring it in to have done. So before I brought it back to him, I mentioned that the brakes needed to be changed and he did. SCAM ARTIST!!!!!!We purchased a car from Terry’s U Save Auto’s on a Monday night. We took the car to our mechanic on Tuesday morning to give it a tune up at which time we were told the car had frame damage. We notified Terry and he told us to bring the car back so he could have his mechanic look at it. His mechanic also told him that the car needs a whole new subframe. Terry expects us to pay for 50% of the subframe repair.While it is not illegal to sell a car with frame damage in Illinois, it IS illegal to to sell the car WITHOUT disclosing the frame damage to the buyer.Terry says that rule doesn’t apply to him because we bought the car “as is.” Unfortunately it DOES apply to him because the auction house where he purchased the car from was legally obligated to notify HIM of the frame damage. Illinois law also state that an “as is” clause does not apply when a transaction was made fraudulently.Were we sold a car fraudulently? I don’t know about any other consumer, but my husband and I certainly would not know what frame damage looks like.So Terry says the law doesn’t apply to him...you be the judge.

They have fantastic service! My husband and I bought a used car and they did everything there for us: processed the title changeover, wrote out the bill of sale, and got us temporary plates. We were told that the title and registration along with plates would be mailed within a few weeks. So easy. Then a few days after we drove off the lot, we noticed the lock on the hatchback didnt work. They told us to come in and the mechanic, Terry, was excellent - extremely fast and thorough. We were out of these within an hour. And they didnt charge us a penny. I couldnt say better things about this dealership.

Terry was really nice to us. My daughter bought a car from him and it had a few things wrong with it so he took it into his mechanic to have it fixed. It wasnt ready by the end of the day. So he was really nice and gave her a car to use so she could get to work the next morning. He didnt have to but he really showed us great customer service and that he cared about his customers.

Based on my interaction at this astablisment Id say hes a close second. Yet he lack proper charisma to actually charm people into getting a deal..he isnt matildas dad bad...hes more a 8/10 when it comes to it.We went to day an I found the 2002 Prius they had show cased in CarGurus my friends mother was talking to him an asking questions when he laughed at her about wanting to finance a car an wanted to bit go over 150 for car payments he said I have alot of nice expensive cars here an was beyond rude..The Prius I wanted to see was on a flat! An all the cars I had seen on the lot where dirty! Like some.one just drove up.an left the car there. There was a convertible that looked like it hadden been detailed ever in its life. An the newest car k saw at the dealer was one of the customer who was there an they had a 2010 Ford that looked worn in with kids that looked better then the dealer! Dont go to him! This dealer was the most unprofessional and rude dealer I have ever been to. The vehicle I looked at needed 1500-2000 dollars worth of repairs to make it road worthy. When I raised issues with the car he insisted its in great condition for how old this car is. He was very short with me. And when I returned from the test drive I told him I think Im going to have to pass on the car his response to me was kThe car I drove needed a transmission and a clutch. He does not care about selling car that will need a transmission 5 minutes after the customer drives off the lot.I strongly suggest that nobody buys from this dealer. They have shady business practices and I do not want to see somebody get taken advantage by him.

Bought my first car here. Test drove alright. After driving home on an EMPTY GAS TANK, and restarting the car after putting gas in, the car wouldnt start without giving it gas. Told them when I went back to sign more papers and they looked at it and told me what COULD be an issue and didnt fix a thing, even though their cars are on a warranty. The car fell apart in the first 6mo of paying off loan and made me dread future dealership experiences.Finally went and bought a second car after driving the car that was leaking exhaust fumes into my cab for 2 years and discovered that there ARE dealerships that are honest and helpful and wont just sell you anything you look at.AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AND THE OWNER TERRY AT ALL COSTS. Not worth the trouble, go to a credible dealership and get a used car that they will actually show you everything about.

Terry -When I walked into your dealership you had approached me and I had told you that I was a mother of one going thru a divorce and I needed a car that was going to be reliable and dependable for my daughter and I. You took me to a 94 Grand Am and GUARANTEED it was the best on your lot for what I was looking for. You told me that it was well maintained, mileage was great for how old it was and explained to me that you GUARANTEED it so much that you had given me a warranty on the vehicle. When I told you that I wanted to come back with someone familiar with cars to make sure it was a sound deal you began to tell me that you have a wife and kids and that you would hate to see someone take advantage of them and knowing I needed it for myself and my daughter you would NEVER put me in something that wasnt dependable and that you really wanted to help me out. Because of my situation and I needed a car right away I believed you. The bad part was I was unable to drive my car right away because my ex had left me with unknown tickets on my old car that I had to pay off before I was able to drive my car. The first day I took my car out, I was driving to work and it died at an intersection. I barely drove 4 miles! (I took a pic of the mileage too) I called you and you told me that it was probably the fuel gauge because it was an older car. So I called someone and had them bring me gas. Drove to work and thought I figured out the problem. After work I filled the tank, $42 and thought that it must have been on empty since it took so much gas. 3 miles down the road it died out again. This time it wouldnt start. I called your dealership and they said that you had left for the day and I asked for a number for a tow truck and they said they didnt have a number for one. So I called a tow truck on my own.what was I supposed to do? When the tow truck came and he picked up the car & we noticed that gasoline was literally POURING out of the car!! The tow driver had me look under the car and showed me where it was leaking. We couldnt believe how dangerous the situation could have been! What if someone threw a cigarette out their window? what if a motorcycle had wiped out on the gas? So many different scenarios... The tow truck driver even pointed out where there were twist ties holding things in place under the car! He had me take pictures and videos of the gas POURING out. He said that the car was in such bad shape that he would take the bill to your dealership because he could see that they car was in bad shape. The next morning I received a call from you. You literally yelled, screamed, swore, talked over me and cursed at me for daring to have him bring you the bill for the tow. When I tried to talk to you about my car you repeatedly screamed at me to SHUT UP! YOU WERE TALKING! and if I tried to speak you repeatedly hung up on me!! A coworker saw me breaking down everyday trying to deal with you.(see below) and you called and threatened me that I BETTER HAVE HER DELETE HER REVIEW, OR ELSE. she told you that she would delete it if you apologized for how you treated me. You got on the phone with me and began to tell me how sorry you were for how you talked to me and that I must have misunderstood you. Are you kidding me? My coworker then tells me that you told her that I kept talking over you and yelling at you to shut up... Are you kidding me? I couldnt even talk to you! You kept hanging up on me every time I tried to speak. I even tried to tell you that the car was dangerous and I had a daughter and you told me SO WHAT? I GOT A SON! WHATS YOUR POINT? WHO CARES! You called me later and YELLED at me IM CHARGING YOU FOR THE REPAIR AND THE TOW! ILL CALL YOU WHEN ITS DONE! and hung up on me! You later called and told me that I had to pay $235. for the repair and the tow! I just wanted to be done with you! So I paid it. In the past week Ive had the fan fixed and now the trans is bad! I am going to the BBB, the Atty Generals office and NBC 5 Consumer report! PEOPLE BEWARE! THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!! I will not stay quiet!!!

Then when I asked to change the car I was buying because I didnt like the car fax he wouldnt let me and refused to give back my money. In the end the car died after a week and a half.
