Ive been with ADT since they bought out Brinks Home security (and with Brinks several years as well) and they have been great. Decent price, great service and quality products. Get a nice little break on my home insurance and in turn get a decent price do to my affiliation with my insurer.

Dec 15, 2020 - Kudos to Dan Ferguson, our ADT Install Tech. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained things well (the overall upgrade install process, the individual steps involved, etc.) and was very thorough in making sure the upgrade install was complete and done to our satisfaction. In the end, the overall install experience actually exceeded our expectations. Thanks Dan and Thanks ADT.Update 1/6/2021 as we had a second door smart lock added. Tech Danny Story and his trainee Hector were very knowlegeable and friendly. The work provided was done efficiently and was of high quality. Kudos!

Do not go with this company or any companies with contracts. They lie to you and anything you do will lock you into another contract. They over charged me for years and I called them on it and they said they would uprade my system free of charge. They got there charged a service fee and locked me into another 3yr contract. This is a shady company that lies every other word which is not a quality you would want in your security company. If they cant tell you the truth what makes you think they will have your back when something happens. Lots of do it yourself systems out there better than this trash and no contacts!!

I your deciding to go with them, find another alarm company they are horrible with customer service and scheduling appointments.Omg I had my system since 2004. I never called them for anything need to be done on the system till now,I called and they scheduled me for a Friday since they dont do Saturdays .I work Monday through Friday and get out around 3:30. I work in an area where you can have cell phone for security purposes. I had to get the day off which is hard to do where I work will I told them this plus the time I get off work and would be able to answer till 3:30. They called a day before my appointment and said I had to call back but 2:30. Now I told them about the cell phone and the time I can call them back because of my job, they still called before 3:30 now they close at 5:00. They canceled my appointment with out call me and tell me after I took the day off and was waiting for them . I didnt know till I called them and find out what they did. After they back and forth the service Manager called me and said they would make it up to me by scheduling me for Saturday. So I said ok though I was mad because of taking of Friday . Will guess what They never showed up Saturday at all no phone call no nothing after they send me a confirmation Email that they would be out Saturday to make it up for all the misunderstanding. They never showed. So do your self a favor dont choose them for your security service you will save your a whole lot of grief. And money

For years with ADT, the third party installers were my least favorite part. I was happy to learn ADT has changed to be only sending out their direct, own ADT technicians for my Command Center & video upgrade. The tech was fantastic! Went above & beyond, very knowledgeable and so helpful.

One star is more than what this company deserves. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! We paid over $1k to cancel services with bulldog / ADT in SEPT 2020 and since then they have continued to charge us each month after. Every month I have to call them to dispute the charge and they say they will credit us back. Well thats my bad for thinking the would do as they say. I just reviewed my bank account and they are continuing to take money out each month. I contacted them. requesting to talk to their billing department and they said I cant guarantee that it wont continue to deduct money from your account. I dont work in billing. The REP refuses to transfer my call to someone who manages the billing department to close this account completely. This is a company that has repeatedly had poor customer service and refuses to right a wrong on their part. Dont make the same mistake we did. DO NOT USE Bulldog Security / ADT. They will steal your money. Do your homework and find a new security system!!! Youll be happy you did.

Derek was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Showed up on time and worked in a timely manner. Took time to make sure I understood how everything worked and that my app was up to date. Even worked with wiring from previous owner so we didnt have to create new holes in the house.

After an initial network glitch a couple of weeks earlier, the second effort to upgrade our ADT Security System from 3G to 5G upgrade went smoothly. Dustin, the ADT service personnel, called ahead, arrived on time, was personable, proficient and did an excellent job.

I had my vehicle gone through in my driveway and the police showed up after because the vehicle door was left open. There were cops in front of my house, in my driveway, shining lights in my cars, at my house, multiple SUVs pulling up, cops all over my yard, ringing my doorbell, etc. I went to review the footage and my camera caught NONE of it happening anout 10 feet in front of the camera, going on for 25-30 minutes, in addition to the original person on my property going through my vehicle. I was disturbed by this and set an appointment with ADT.First tech showed up and my partner recognized him as a tech who had previously come out and likes to condescendingly talk over me and interrupt. He proceeds to do so while making excuses for the equipment before even actually looking into the issue. I ended up getting so frustrated I ended up yelling at him about how rude he was being and asked him to leave. Dispatch tells me they can send someone out that same day between 12-5... then clarified they’d have to do that range if I wanted an appointment. So I had to stay home all day and at 5:30 I called to see where my tech was and I was told he could probably be there by SEVEN. Apparently, they overbook the techs so badly they rarely even make it to the last appointment. So I stayed home all day for absolutely no reason, besides presumably having my time wasted. We rescheduled for the following week. The tech did not text prior to arrival per protocol. He was much better mannered but explained the equipment might actually not be able to pick up someone breaking into my vehicle and an entire circus of police running around 19 feet in front of it. I mean, why would I need my security camera to be able to do that?? He then proceeded to replace my doorbell camera, leaving screws in half inch anchor holes in the stone so that now the doorbell doesn’t work because it was hanging by a tiny wire which it’s not longer connected to. Prior to this, it was already failing to record people actually ringing the doorbell. But now it’s sitting on my dresser so who knows how long it’ll be until I can get an overbooked tech back out to do another mediocre job with mediocre equipment with a mediocre attitude.

I recently had an ADT system installed. Their prices were affordable for the security that I am receiving. The technician, Anthony, was very efficient in his work and was an excellent educator throughout the process. ADT offers excellent desktop and mobile ways to check on your house from anywhere. I couldnt be happier with my experience!

One issue of three was resolved. The second I was told the keypad is always blank, but that is NOT the way my keypad has been since installation. I mean, how do you disarm the system in the middle of the night if its blank?? For the third issue, there was no resolution of offer of resolution. They are coming back tomorrow.

ADT does not provide quality customer service. They send technicians who are poorly trained, unwilling and unable to fulfill the work order, they show up right at the end of the window - 8-12 or 1-5 and THEY DONT CARE ...The technicians have a caviler attitude and you can just reschedule and waste another day waiting on them to show up, ill prepared and without the right equipment. Our consultant Mr Shinn explained very concisely all the details the system components so we could decide which one we wanted for our house. The installer was very skilled and explained how the system worked once he was finished. He also left a booklet of instructions. The two cameras, one on the front door and one inside, give a clear view of all the access points to the house which you can see on the ADT app anytime

Absolutely horrific experiences with this company - to the point weve already cancelled our contract and are STILL dealing with issues.  Here is a summary of everything that has gone wrong:- We moved to a new residence in August 2019.  As prior ADT customers, we signed a new 3-year agreement with ADT, purchasing an upgraded service with a bunch of high-end equipment.  At that time, and by way signing a new agreement, we obviously intended to cancel service at our old residence.- Problems started early - equipment was failing constantly.  We had techs over constantly to visit our home in the span of 6 months to fix equipment that was having faulty triggers (usually overnight).- We kept receiving calls from ADT (again, middle of the night) for alarms going off at our old address.  We informed ADT MULTIPLE TIMES that we moved.  Each time, ADT assured us that they updated the account, but we spent months thereafter receiving calls about the old address.- After our FOURTH attempt, it turns out the ADT representative cancelled our current address, so we lost service entirely.- Come to find out, ALL THE WHILE, we are being DOUBLE CHARGED by ADT.  It appears they never cancelled the first contract.- By this point, we had had enough.  We spoke with multiple ADT reps to voice our concerns, and ADT eventually agreed to let us out of our contract for $289, which we paid.  We still had a balance on the contract of $264.24 from the double charging.   We asked the representative to apply the credit owed to me for the  overpayment BEFORE we closed out the account, but because it was after 5pm that day, she demanded that I had to call back the next day to collect that refund and that I must pay the $289 immediately if I wanted to agree to the compromised deal.  So we obliged.- Relying on the information that our account was closed, we then signed a contract with a new security company.- Since cancelling, weve called back 6 times to get the $264 refund, and each representative and their managers agree it should be fixed, but it keeps getting denied by processing. The reason it keeps getting denied is because if they open the account back up to process it, supposedly the full contract cancellation balance would apply. I really wanted the representative to apply the refund BEFORE closing out the account, but we didnt because of her decision. Because of that decision, the ADT representatives at the call center and processing cannot fix this issue.- We then received an email today that not only was our request for refund denied, but that we owe ADT $1,605.01, which will be going to collections.I have NEVER experienced anything so ridiculous.  How can ADT be trusted with home security when they cant even get billing and customer service right?  This has been going on for months with no resolution.  If this is wrongfully sent to collections, we will have no choice but to take legal action against ADT.

Totally stress free and client first weighing all options, costs, promotions, etc. I would *highly* recommend Tony/ADT for anyone in the market for a home security and automation solution. Some guy named Stefan Calson must not have understood the sign posted clearly stating Do Not Ring My Door Bell Or Knock On My Door. They knocked and rang upsetting the inhabitants in my home and jammed their card in my front door. I reviewed the surveillance and he appeared to have an attitude. Really? Knocking on some strangers door against their wishes then being upset when they dont answer? Ill be sure to steer clear of this business and if any of their employees come to my home again Ill be sure to request a no trespass order. If I need something I go to a business of my choice. I dont want to be disturbed by peddlers coming to my house.

I had to have my outside siren replaced, because it was reporting a low battery. I called in, the rep on the phone was great and set up my appointment when it was convenient for me. I got an automated call the day before, with options to reschedule if necessary. The repair tech showed up in the time they said he would, and he was great. He worked quickly and efficiently, replaced the siren, and was done in a short time. He was so nice and friendly, it was just a pleasure having him here. Hed be a great advertisement for ADT! I pay a little extra for my service, but I never feel unprotected. Im really happy with ADT, and Ive been with them for about five years now.

We had a really bad experience with ADT. After a few months with the service we travelled to europe and our garage door alarm started ringing at any time without any reason. The police had to come like 6 times, and we were worried all the time during our trip. After that we also received a huge bill from the police department because aparently we needed to get a permission to have the alarm installed and nobody from ADT had told us that( they had spent hours at my home convincing us to hire the service and telling us horror stories of people that didn’t have security systems) We are first time home owners, we come from another country and we certainly didn’t know. When we called to ADT to cancel the service they told us we couldn’t. I feel this is a scam!!! There is a reason for a service to have a clause were you can’t leave .... everybody would leave otherwise!!!!! If someone ask me if a recommend ADT i would say no!!! Run as fast as you can from them!!!!

As a new home owner, I was approached by a ADP representative doing third party door to door sales. He said he was going to send me a quote via email/text that evening and never did.The next day I tried to follow up to determine the validity of the ADP Shirted individual who approached my home and was told they were unable to do so. Furthermore, you are unable to contact your local ADP office.The local offices do not receive incoming calls according to corporate.

This applies to the company ADT. Not a specific sight.Worst customer service I have ever received....EVER. Can’t get the same answer twice. Charges on my account we were told by an ADT rep to disregard. After the service rep put a hole in the ceiling, whole other story, we were relocated. The account was supposed to be on hold but we still paid the monthly premium until we found a new home. Found the new home and, after we were given a specific install price, it tripled. In addition, we have to start a new contract to have install at new home. Why would we continue to pay on the old contract if we were going to have to start a new? This is what we were told to do by ADT, BTW. If we needed to start a new contract, why would we continue to pay on the old? Why did the install at the new home triple in price? Different response from ADT every time we call. So much more I could bring up.Do yourself a favor and use ANY other company.

ADT’s equipment is faulty. I’ve had about 12 false alarms over the past 5 months due to equipment not working properly. They get you to commit to 3 years of service and you can’t cancel and go to another company because they lock you in. I will not use ADT in the future. Seek out another company. The only thing that is good is, is that the police and fire department show up immediately. I just feel bad that ADT’s equipment has so many false alarms and they dispatch every time this happens.

As a local South Austin business owner, they refused to remove a red tag on my fire alarm after their equipment stopped working and I replaced them with a lower cost, best customer service option. Wish there was an option for zero stars, because they dont deserve even one star!!!Was unfortunately referred to Bulldog Security, by our realtor. He now knows to not refer ANYONE to them. Our installer was scheduled in the morning, didnt arrive until after 6pm, We had been moving all day and had not ate. He had no respect of our time and left at around 10pm with the job incomplete. It took a total of 4 visits to our hone to complete the install. We were promised a $100 gift card and a $75 gift card due to the inconvenience. The installation was in JULY and weve only received one card. Every time I call they keep telling me, It should be there by the end of next week. Still dont have it. This is the worst instalation experience Ive ever had. The lack of follow up and concern, leaves a lot to be desired. So if you want to waste your time and be lied to for 2 months with no resolution. Then use Bulldog Security!

My home security system is 29 years old. It has had a few repairs and upgrades over the years, but recently a couple components began to fail. I called the ADT 800 number and made an appointment. The technician, Darren, showed up right on time, and was totally competent and professional. He had all the tools and parts needed to complete the work. Everything is functioning perfectly now.

When I sign up with ADT, the salesman is super nice to trick us sign the contract. When we ask him is there some permit we need to purchase at city of Austin, he said he is not aware of any. However one month later I received bill/fine from Austin police department for unpermited entry.When I call ADT to reimburse this bill, they are very rude: they wont reimburse anything. They even encourage us to hire lawyers and fight on court. They said they can hire better lawyers than us on court because they are rich.Please skip ADT since they only want you to sign the contract, rather than taking care of your security.I would rather rate them 0 star instead of 1 star in google.

The company is completely aware that a permit is required by law in Austin. It is clearly the NUMBER 1 thing that you need to know about getting an alarm system activated, citywide in Austin, Texas. They are con artists who get you locked into a contract and then when you get the letter from the police, they offer you $25. They are swindlers. If they had your back, theyd tell you simply to get the permit and then come install the alarm system. Do not use this company. Additionally, they gave my stalker information about my alarm system and sent a review to MY HOUSE about MY ALARM system, to her name. Every time Ive called for info about my own account, theyve given it to me simply by asking for my name and address, not password. For a security company, these guys are way lacking and are dishonest AND / OR ignorant to the basic laws and requirements of their own industry and practice unethical business. DO NOT USE THEM!!

This has been a nightmare. Called the next day to cancel service after horrible install and was told someone one be at my house on Sat. Surprise! Thats past their cancellation date so they wont let me cancel or refund my over $3,000. Have been on the phone for over an hour and transferred to at least 7 people. Have had to tell my story over every time.heir smoke detector are not wired and are no certified to be used as a stand alone system. Interior camera has to be plugged in with long black cord. Installer came with no silicone. Recommended by USAA so I will be passing this info along. No one can tell me how to cancel and say they are closed on Saturday.

I never leave reviews for businesses. However, Ive never dealt with such a rude, unprofessional business in my life. They are extremely aggressive in their sales tactics. I originally called to get a quote and made that clear. Within 5 minutes or so, I was placed on the phone with the manager who essentially pressured me into putting a deposit down. I guess I could have hung up, but I was trying to be polite no hear her out. Thankfully my deposit was refundable! Today, I called to cancel my service. When I asked why I was cancelling, I explained how I didnt feel comfortable with the sales rep and what happened. Not only was that concern never addressed or apologized for, I was transferred to another manager. That manager continued the same customer service and asked me why I waited several days to cancel. I explained that I work a lot and have been very busy (I do work in health care and Harvey has made us busier... also Im moving into a new home!). Either way, I shouldnt have to justify myself. He then replied with well we are open 24/7. How am I suppose to trust such a rude company with my security? No thank you, Ill never be a customer!

The city is charging me $220 for failure to obtain a permit. I was never even informed about the need for a permit by ADT when they installed my system. As a first time home buyer and first time ADT customer, I had no idea a permit was even required. I would have appreciated a heads up from ADT (especially since they know/ should know the city’s rules and regulations for home security systems). I read the above comments and saw complaints from other customers about this same issue. I also read ADT’s responses to those complaints claiming that it is “disclosed in the contract”. I called in to ADT to speak with them about this issue in an attempt to resolve it; however, I only experienced further disappointment. GAVIN, the representative, was extremely rude and when I requested to speak with a manager, he laughed and refused to transfer me. This terrible experience and apparent lack of customer consideration has led me to regret doing business with ADT.

Called to schedule a technician. Technician says I need CCTV technician to do job. Get CCTV technician out he says I need a specialist. Called and got a specialist out. He says I need an installer. Call to schedule installer and they reschedule the CCTV technician. Call back to get the installer, THE MANAGER REFUSES TO SCHEDULE AN INSTALLER!!!!

We have been customers since 2012. We moved into a temporary home in 2017 and told the salesperson that we only need needed service for a year because we were building a new home that comes with a preinstalled security system for 3 years. We are now being told we are in a contract till 2021 and need to pay a $700. This is a deceptive business practice when we informed ADT since the beginning we would only be in this home for a year. We will look elsewhere when the builders contract is over. Becareful!

Due to moving house, I called ADT about migrating the service. I was presented 2 options:1. cancel current contract and pay a penalty of $780, because I signed a 3 year contract, which I never agreed to. I was never made aware of any terms of a term.2. migrate service to new address, and restart another 3 years contract.Obviously this company made up both my existing contract, and also tried every way to hoax clients to renew contract.My suggestion to my neighbors in Austin. Try dodging this company for the rest of your life, and tell your friends about it too.

Under no circumstances work with ADT, especially Curtis Green. They lied in their initial sales call about some promotion and then tried to add an extra $600 in fees upon installation and then the technician Curtis packed up and left my house without cleaning up after himself. They dont work with customers and are monolithic corporate giant with no interest in customer service.Response to Gabe - Your Client retention team called today and let me know that not only was Curtis behavior was unacceptable, that he was wrong about trying to charge this extra $600. Your company IS running a promotion that would allow me to get a door bell camera and outdoor camera for $49. I have the email to verify as well. The fact that your tech is willing to try to bamboozle a client for $600 is appalling and yall should be ashamed.

Yesterday we spoke to ADT about securing our home and they gave us an estimate for 14 sensors for their basic system. This morning their contractor “Protect Your Home” showed up to our house and quickly drilled two holes in our walls without giving final quote which is their trick. Once that done they revealed us all the hidden charges with $400 upfront fees for additional sensors and $25 per month extra to use their app. Clearly we were not comfortable with the amount they were charging us, but they forced us into taking their hiked price since the hole was already drilled. We declined the service due to increases quote and they left our house with just the holes on our wall. They are not willing to repair or reimburse us for the damage. Not at all happy with the sham like strategy of ADT to con people into taking their high priced services.Thanks!

Please share- I just wanted to let you know about the cancellation experience that I had with ADT monitoring service. Because of my experience, i can not recommend ADT as a security service.When I called to cancel monitoring of my security system, I was transferred to the cancellation department (after 5 minutes on hold and a 5 minute conversation with a customer service rep). They then, over the course of 4 minutes, summarized my security system by identifying each and every sensor in my house, a process that I felt was very unnecessary, and also stated that the cancellation would occur after 30 days from my request. In addition, they would send a signal to my system that would disable any programming that they had done, including arming and disarming codes, which would render the system inoperable (a system that I had been charged for and paid for). They then put me on a 5 minute hold to process the cancellation.After the hold, I was told that I would be given several points of advice regarding my cancellation. The first point was that they would of course notify my insurance agency that I was no longer monitored. Because my cancellation was because the property was going to be rented, they asked me about the lease terms and duration of the lease for my renters. I did not feel that this was any of their business, and told them so. When I replied that I would not give them that information, they stated that the renters would be obligated to enter into a 3 year contract, and if their lease term was less than that, they would probably not protect my property with an alarm system, leaving it vulnerable. This is a short version summary of a 5 minute diatribe from ADTs cancellation representative.After this was stated to me, I asked if there was anything else, and the representative stated that there were several more advice points that she would like to tell me. I asked if the cancellation was processed, and she replied that it was, but she needed to give me more advice regarding my cancellation. I asked her not to waste my time, and she replied that she was just trying to do her job.At this point I said goodbye and hung up.So basically, if you need to cancel service with ADT, expect to have a representative take at at least 10 minutes of your time trying to scare you about having an ADT unprotected property, inform you that they will take action to notify your insurance company that you should not be entitled to any discount afforded to you by having your property protected by them, and then provide unsolicited advice for an unknown amount of time to attempt to scare you into continuing with their product.If their product was really that good, they wouldnt need to put you through all of this if you wanted to cancel.Please as se consider this when selecting a security service.
