Definitely stay away from this place Im not sure which is worse the staff the food or the customer service. The donuts are day old and so are the eggs. Half the time you dont get what you ask for and when telling staff that they act like a monster and tell you thats not what they are hearing. If you can help it dont eat at this place because you dont get your moneys worth and is definitely not a nice environment for children! And mind you I have been a customer of theirs for years now and over the past year it has substantially gone down so be careful!!!

I can tell you the ppl who have written reviews about the service are the type of ppl who want to ask a million questions as if they’ve never ordered tacos before and hold up the line. The staff is NOT rude and if you are clear with what you want to order your order WILL BE correct. I’ve only discovered this place less than 3 months ago and have gone at least 7-10 times and not one error in any of the items I’ve ordered. Everything is great, don’t listen to the negative reviews; those folks aren’t even commenting on the food because they know it’s amazing! One review even says someone got their order wrong every single time but yet had been going there for 6 months straight ?? …Must not have been that disappointed if they continued going back for that long. I recommend the bean and cheese taco and the nopales and egg taco. You will love anything you order here!

Used to be really good. Now, the chocolate frosting has a weird, almost onion, flavor. I’ve called them and let them know, but here we are, second weekend in a month, with a nasty chocolate-onion donut. Yuck. Guess we will find a different place. The kolaches are still fine at least.

This place is great and hidden. Breakfast tacos for under $2. And they are fully loaded. The ladies at the counter are very nice and fast. They also have doughnuts and coffee. If you are in a hurry and want something that is fast, cheap AND good, this is the place. It’s a small place so dining in is probably ok, but to go is best.

The breakfast tacos here are great! I have only had the chorizo/egg/potato but they have been fresh and delicious every time. Be careful when you order ahead, there are 2 locations!

You want donuts? Tacos? And meat kolaches? DTP2 has you covered. The breakfast tacos are sinful and theyre a buck fifty. This place is hardly a palace but in my mind its the Taj Mahal, I visit here every other weekend and will continue to do so for the rest of my days.

Relatively standard donuts for the most part, but the blueberry donut is truly remarkable! Next time Ill just get a dozen of those. Service is great and good prices.

I’ve never met a staff more rude than the 2 young ladies working the front of this place. The food is sub par and not worth the money.

Donuts were good, tacos felt like they had been made in the early morning, the tortillas were soggy. They had little flavor, tried the Mexican style, bacon, potato, and barbacoa. This place is small more of a take with you place than to sit and eat.

Specialized my tacos, made to order and they were delicious 😋😋😋. Then the donuts were off the chain Good!!!

Love this place, i know this is called donut palace but the tacos and kolachies are always fresh and more importantly delicious and the main reason I go. The donuts are good too butnim.not big on eating donuts.. You will not be dissapointed when you sink your teeth into any of the food here.Enjoy!

Horrible experience. I will never go here again. They didn’t put in part of order in my bag and when I called he wouldn’t refund my credit card. Then he said it was “my problem”. That was the owner too. Never getting my business again.

Id give 0 stars if I could. All of their staff is new and theyre terrible. Today, I watched three customers walk back in because their orders were wrong. I get my very simple order and walk out the door. I take it home and every single taco is wrong. But guess what? We cant eat a single one of them because the people in my house that dont eat dairy, got dairy, and the people in my house that dont eat meat got meat. Ive never had a order that was this wrong. Not a single taco was correct. Plus I dont have time to go back because they had a line of about 10 people by the time I left. The reason they had a line is they are so slow. I cannot bring myself to go here again. Hopefully they get their act together.

Went to this donut shop a few times. The first time I got a donut and it tasted like a nail salon. I thought maybe it was a fluke and went back a second time and got a donut that tasted perfectly fine and another that yet again tasted like a nail salon. It’s a hit or miss.

Literally every SINGLE time I have gone here (about once a week for the past 6 months) my order is wrong. Like completely wrong. We make sure to repeat very clearly what we want every time, and EVERY time we get home the tacos are wrong. We have never once gotten what we have paid for. Absolutely do not recommend.

I love tacos and they gave me tacos at a good price. A lot of places just put a in there Taco plain and simple but they took the time to season it possibly with salt and pepper or cookie in some bacon grease was very delicious.

Tasty, quick and friendly. Once we start singing the song we have to go. Tacos AND donuts, put a donut hole or 3 on your taco, its good. My favorite is the potato egg n cheese and a bag of donut holes to share with everyone I meet.

I really wanted to give 5 stars but they needed to change the oil in the machine. It was unfortunately rancid and we couldnt finish the donuts we brought home.

The donuts here used to be AMAZING. They even had middle finger donuts. (Yes, glazed donuts shaped like a middle finger)Now the donuts are just average. Their glazed are still great but their variety of donuts has dwindled down to basically glazed, sprinkle donuts, and a few other choices.Now, having said that, their breakfast tacos are still EXCELLENT. Especially their mexican style taco!

Fabulous chocolate covered chocolate cake donut. Lattes are from a machine but still delicious. The taco Donuts are intriguing but I had already had breakfast. I will have to give it a try later. Seems like a popular place.

Kinda pricey for a donut shop in my opinion but the coffee is strong and the food is great. Recently tried their pastor tacos and was very pleasantly surprised.

These were honestly some of the worst donuts I have ever had the displeasure of consuming. They were spongey and gross. Not sweet at all. Tasted like a donut and a twinkie had a baby but it turned out all wrong. The service was good though. She was very nice. But these donuts are disgusting.

Almost never have my favorite: cinnamon-sugar cake donuts. But, they def make one of the best light, mouthwatering, regular glazed donuts around here. And they have a wide selection of eggy-meaty type breakfast foods (on a tortilla, on a croissant, in a roll, etc) that are pretty good, not as good as the donuts, but they tasty.

These are the best breakfast croissants Ive ever had. The donuts are pretty good too. But its mainly popular for the breakfast tacos, which my wife likes a lot.

Ever since Ive lost faith in the next door Taco Cabana, this is my go to place. Great service, nice food, clean environment.All around a good time.

I come here all the time and food is good and the same girl is usually there. Today sadly will be my last time. There was a second girl in there today that was rude and told me I couldnt bring my service animal in. Disrespectful to those who served this country and still feel the effects.

Huge menu with every kind of taco you could desire to kick off your day, and the woman behind the counter are always friendly and provide service with a smile. Best yet, they cost only $1.50 each!! While you are there, you can even pick up some of the tastiest donuts around.

I love this place. Cheap delicious donuts and kolaches. I am told that the kolaches dont have as much cheese as shipleys, but the donuts here are much cheaper. Plus you have breakfast tacos that are packed full. Who doesnt love breakfast tacos?

The WORST customer service in Austin! Ive been working the service industry in Austin for over 5 years, and I have never seen such a lack of care or concern for the customer experience. Even though the restaurant closes at 1, theres a big sign on the wall Kitchen closes at 12:30. No big deal – except the kitchen almost always closes before noon. (3rd time in a row this has happened) Why would they have a sign that is obviously a lie? No reason, they just feel like it. Blatant lack of care or concern. Dont know who or what manages this store, yet every time I have kindly asked to speak to a manager, there is never a manager there. And they never know when he will be back, today tomorrow or the next week – Oh, he just comes and goes as he pleases. Dont really know when hell be in. I will NEVER be returning to this store, and neither should you come here – there are plenty of other MUCH better options in this same strip mall. Thundercloud subs (local, healthy, GREAT service) is just a few doors down. Right next to it is Independence Fine Foods – more expensive, but WAY better quality of food and WAAAAY better service. Heck, I would even recommend the Dominos in the same strip mall over Donut Taco Palace. At least they show a slight concern for customer experience. And lets be totally honest – compared to all of the other breakfast tacos in Austin, their tacos ARE NOT GOOD. Cheap, bland, and often cold (because if they ever have any tacos, theyve been sitting there for who knows how many hours) I would highly recommend checking out any other local breakfast or lunch joint rather than Donut Taco Palace

Open 0500 to 1300 this place has so many breakfast tacos to choose from and are made fresh. I had 2 and was stuffed. Not to mention there donuts smelled and looked in house made. I will be going back.

The staff appears nice enough and the food is great. However, it appears to be poorly managed. They post their hours as 5am-1pm. In the 10 times I attempted to drop in at 5am. They have only been open once and even then they opened the doors about 10 mins after 5 and they did not have much of anything prepared. They always appeared to be frantically running around...They seem to never have their sh*t together. And they actually close at 12pm or at least thatswhat they told me when I stopped in once a little after 12pm.They should never, ever change their recipes/menu. However, changing management is a different story and/or changing their posted hours to 6am-12pm.

Not much variety of doughnuts. Apple fritter was not completely cooked. Egg and bacon taco was okay. Disappointing.

I just heard of this Super Mario World level today! I thought there was only 96 exits though. I go to Texas ever Thanksgiving break I must play this level. I here it is a re skin of one of the donut plains levels. The koopers are tacos and the goombs are now donuts. Might see some day!

Anthony Martello, I have a question for you! If you actually look around there is no sign that says they close the kitchen at 12:30, plus its their store and you dont know how busy they get. People get tired and as for AGAIN being their store, they can close down the kitchen when they please. People they are actually great even when people like you complain about little things like a so-called sign. If you dont like their food then why continue to come back? In all honestly, you made yourself look dumber than you already sound for complaining about a sign. Lol.

I never knew that I had a sprirital homeland until I found this place. TDPII changed me. I was visiting Austin and didn’t know what barbacoa was. I ordered it because it seemed fun to say. I didn’t know my life was about to be ruined by this delicious meal. I had to go back to the barbacoa-less wasteland of my hometown. I long to return to Austin and visit TDP again. I’m going back to the city in April and this is one of the first things on my itinerary.
