5-stars customer service from me. I have been a customer here for about 10+yr but not sure why i havent share my great experiences at this location.I am an ECHO fan for ALL my lawn equipments. On 06.18.2021 i came in & looking for a chainsaw to a mission of clearing out the dead & unwanted trees on my acres ranch. I was greeted by a nice young man named Richard Blake and Q&A on the echo products without any feeling intimate. At the end i purchased ECHO chainsaw & other ECHO products.I will coming back later this week to purchase another Echo Chainsaw with a bigger bar for a bigger trees.I know that i have a choice to purchase online for saving a few bucks, but i am so glad that my local store like this one treating me like a real customer.I later learn that mr. Richard Blake is the owner & his fantastic son named Michael w/ lot of knowledge and personality to assistant anyone walking thru their store.Thank you! and i am continuing to be your customer as long as i am still in Austin. Keep up the great experiences fellows π
Every time we come in Charlie and the rest of the crew are always nice and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. Keep up the good work guys!
Todd helped me with my chainsaw chain, getting it adjusted properly was a challenge. But he got it done and wasnt even going to charge me for it. I paid him anyway. Nice guy!
First time there. Was there to purchase propane. Since the cold spell we had, it seemed like everyone in Austin was there buying propane. Was taken care of rather quickly despite the crowd. Very pleased. Roy did a good job. Thanks π
Really excellent service. Mike went above and beyond to help us get a Honda gas-powered water pump, even going so far as to set it up and oil it. Very patient and informative. I highly recommend McCoys.
I am.a home owner, and buying my gear for years at McCoys. McCoys sells the real deal and no toys. McCoys helped me to find the right tools for the right job. But they are not all about selling you something, and even helped me with 15 year old HD bought Echo and made it spring back to life. If you are serious about taking care of your property, you want the right equipment. Once, you use it, you never go back to big box toys. My wife loves her electric super light Stihl hedge clippers, small and large, and I like my powerful 2-stroke Echo tools, of which I collected a sizable selection over the years. I even have my gardeners borrow stuff from me regularly.
They didnt have what I needed today. But most of the time they do and the peeps working there are awesome and knowledgeable.
Great place, knowledge staff. Brought my chainsaw here and they knew exactly what it needed. The best part is the advice is free.
Customer for over 30 years. Place to get parts and equipment for all your lawn care needs.
These guys go WAY and beyond to service the needs of their customers. Stuff breaks. Dont ruin your day expecting service from the big chain stores.
Great customer service. Good variety of outdoor equipment.
Get everything to maintain your yard from propane to tires for your truck.
Friendly staff from the time I walked in until I exited!
I have bought numerous pieces of lawn equipment and also had numerous repairs done here. But today was the last time. Not only did they call me four separate times for approval for the repairs that I approved the first time, but they took three times as long as they said it would take for the repairs. I could have looked the other way on all that and probably would but the kicker was this; when we went to retrieve my push lawn mower the guy said to me lets make sure theres no water in the gas tank, uh yeah... I said, and then noticed why. They store mine and everyone elses lawn mower outside. The one that I just spent $340 to repair, and they do so while its raining so water normally gets into the gas tank when it rains like this, the guy told me. I take better care of my own equipment and I would except a shop that Im paying to do the same. Ill never go back and never purchase something from them ever again.
This company is great! I have been doing business with them for over 25 years, first as a commercial landscape company owner and now as an individual. Great service, and a great buying experience. You cant go wrong buying here. I recently purchased a 72 Ferris mower and they worked with me on the terms, threw in an extra part, and had it ready to go within hours of it getting to them. Just good folks to do business with.
Didnt get the part I was very specific about. Way off
Very pleased, as always, with my lawn/tree equipment repairs and maintenance. Top Notch. Very Professional, Friendly, and Fair. Highly Recommended.
Spent $10 at Loweβs on a mower blade sharpener bit for my drill, quickly found that it was garbage. Came here to see about getting a new blade and was in and out in under ten minutes and it only cost me $16.
Friendly helpful staff provided great service..
Clearly customer services is NOT a priority! Guy answers the phone and doesnβt let me respond and hangs up. I called back and instead of an apology for the lack of manners, his responds was, βYou have to use your words.β Arrogant SOB thinks that heβs the only game in town. Good luck with your business, but you failed me.
Have been taking my lawn equipment to McCoys for years. They are the only reputable repair facility in Austin. Before starting any work they call with the charges...sometimes its more than you anticipated when you dropped the piece of equipment off. You DO have the option of saying no.Is it fast? No...the repair dept. gives you a time frame. If you want the best its worth the wait.McCoys is fair, honest and they treat you with respect.Ask for Daniel or Charlie in the Repair Department. They will be happy to see you!
Talked with Tyler about charge dispute. He was very patient with me. Very helpful in trying to find problem. Great customer service!
Love this place. Such great advice given and always seem to get just the right thing.
Always a great experience, friendly knowledgeable and just great people.
Jerry, Jay, Jimmy and Jimmy are all the best. Thank you gentlemen for being my Advisors.
Good experience, nice people and better than the big hardware store,
Very helpful, and knowledgeable!
McCoys has always proven a reliable source of lawn equipment. They are straight shooters with their customers and will give you solid advice about what you need and what you dont. I strongly recommend them.
Awesome customer service awesome! Top of the line!
At McCoys Lawn Equipment Superstore, I am always treated kindly and with respect, by their unparalleled parts, sales and service departments. They employ some of the most informative, knowledgeable and highly trained staff in Central Texas that go out of their way to make sure their customers have the right tool for the right job.Thank you McCoys, for always helping to make my job so much more productive !!
Good peps!
As a weekly user, I have found NO ONE who does the work and turns it around like these guys do. We send equipment in and get it back in a reasonable time frame, and the work is done right. Some of these reviews seem to be from people who have Champagne tastes on beer budgets. They sell pro line equipment, and concentrate on their customer base. I am not an owner or principle and frankly have never written a review before, but thought I would share my countless experiences there over the last 10 years.
Find someone else! Maybe theyre ok for the commercial lawn care crowd. Customer service was poor at best. I had to double check all the work that was said would have be done (much wasnt) and they were dishonest with me regarding the problem with the mower saying that I needed to purchase a new engine instead of the $70 head gasket repair. I could go on and on but Ill spare you the drama. take your equipment elsewhere
Walked in for some mower parts. Nailed it. Also got some excellent life hacks from a wizard named Richard there.
Very he and informational place that doesnt try to rob your wallet. Staff are also friendly and straight forward with you. Father and I came here for years!
My experience hasnt been the best, but clearly theyre a reputable company, so Im not ready to write them off. Service writers dont relay the full details like the service manager can. Fairly curt to deal with over the phone. Service department is backlogged, so I can empathize with the lack of desire to communicate, but when you tell the customer 2-4 weeks, and nothing has been done in that time frame, the customer is going to want answers from someone other than the writer who can only say, yep. Hasnt been worked on yet. If the problem is parts availability, include the customer in the search. I dropped of four pieces to get looked at. One sat ready for three weeks, while I got no updates or voice of concern on the rest until I made a face-to-face.
Will continue to do business with them. Wish I new about them sooner.
I Go to buy a Makita dual battery string trimmer at Mccoys lawn equipment on Research Blvd.I question him about the charger not being a dual battery charger. He said thatβs how it comes.I pay for the trimmer kit and take it to the truck but was concerned about the charger.Checking online shows a dual charger included.I returned inside and showed him what I found. He exchanged the single charger for a dual charger.I looked on the wall and noticed a sign - βBuy the trimmer and receive a Makita cordless grinder.βI leave again, this time with the dual charger and grinder.
Service and parts counter guys are great. Very patient and knowledgeable.
Awesome place,, always helpful and pleasant,,great service,,,propane quick/clean,,,
They have fantastic service and they actually give you what you ask for.
Quality Stihl products and after the sale service. Friendly knowledgeable staff always eager to help. Highly recommend McCoys Lawn Equipment.
My 1996 Harley Davidson Sportster went dead on me and I coasted into their parking lot after a few minutes while waiting on family to come and pick me up to take the bike back to the house the fellas there at McCoys took the bike to the back and tested the voltage regulator and the battery for me Load test on the battery filed... so I was one step further to getting old girl back on the road... Great Service all the way around... Thanks Guys
Everybody from the Austin area already knows if you want the best lawn equipment and the best service you go to McCoys a little pricey but worth it
Old Austin Institution, Only place to trade, Honest;Dependable;Fair, fully stocked, always make you feel at home, no intimidation here if your not well versed in lawn equipment.
Donβt waste your time and money in this establishment. I took my Ariens riding lawn mower to fix a problem. They took 4 weeks to get it back to me, and the saddest part they did not fix the problem all they did was the service. When I called to check on the status the manager said they had found the problem and they were going to order blades and a cab kit, a week went by did not hear from them so I called back the tractor was not ready. By this time Iβm frustrated I mention to them if they canβt fix the riding lawn mower I was going to pick it up and not pay them a single dime, three hours went by Tony called saying βthe tractor was ready but they are still waiting for the blades.β When I got there I ask one of the workers if they fix the problem he said βyesβ I also ask him βwhat about the cab kit?β He looks at me and says βwe did not replace the cab kitβ, in other words the only thing they did was the service. Which the service was not the problem! Save your self from a headache this place is a waste of time.
Always great repair work on my mowers, every time over the last 20 years
Received very knowledgeable advice, twice this year from Jerry, havent bought yet, but will soon get a zero turn mower from them. so far, researching for a $5K mower, Jerry has proven the most professional/helpful.
Relaxed atmosphere with knowledgeable employees. Personal service far exceeding a big box store.
These guys have quality lawn equipment. A lot of the stuff you buy in the home stores is pretty crappy. They also have a service department in the back that can fix anything. Take your lawnmower blade in there to get it sharpened for 5 bucks. They will do it in 5 minutes and it really helps your lawn.
Best inventory. Knowledgeable staff. Good dudes.
Smart guys, old timers who care if its right.
Thats where I buy all my parts and equipment great place great people
Good lawn mower shop been open for a lot of years done good business with them in the past.
Great prices, best equipment, and best service .
Courteous, knowledgeable and honest. Highly recommend!
I was just looking for a place to sharpen my lawnmower blade. They did a good job. Spent $5 on sharpening instead of $15 on a new blade.
My 45 yr. sthil 031 had never been in the shop other than getting about 1/2 doz. chain bars. Always drain gas after use, cleaned it after use. After that many yrs. it finally needed a carb. rebuild. McCoys did a fine job on the carb. but they didnt tighten the screws on the pull start side. The first time I used it after about 2 months I notice the dogs slipping on starter when pulling rope. I was 80 miles from town and didnt want to return it(160 miles round trip)When I looked at the side case two side screws were missing and you could turn the rest with your fingers. When I got back to Austin stopped by Mc Coys and told then who ever serviced my saw they forgot to tighten the screws. They told me it was past 30 days and nothing they could do about it.A couple of months later I take my Hobart gen. / welding machine and drop it off for carb. rebuild. After they helped me unload it and paper work they tell me it will be 4 weeks before it done and cost about 125.00. I said forget it. Ordered carb. online( took 3 days) for 22.00 and did it myself. Not impressed with them at all. Im a small business owner and would have both parts guys sent to Cham School. It is what it is.
Got out generator fixed, and excellent service.
Tuned my Briggs and Stratton edger in to get serviced 2 1/2 weeks ago and just received a phone call telling me it was going to be $160. Wait, what??I picked the edger up 3 weeks prior to turning it in (from McCoys) and used it 3 times before I took it back to McCoys with some new problems. Its not like I was ragging the edger out or anything, just using it as it says to in the manual. So, Im going to pick my edger up and take it to someone that can actually fix it without messing something else up and trying to charge me for it. Thanks for messing up my edger McCoy.
Always seem to have what I need. Very knowledgeable staff in parts.
They seem to have a large amount of replacement parts for lawn machinery. But they were unable to repair my drive chain. I was surprised.
They have had my generator for almost 3 months - they have not even touched it. Rude when i call in to check on status. Say its assigned to a tech and he is going to fix it. Just wonder if its going to be this year or 20153 months for a carb job. Wow. Must be complicated...or tech sucks
The keep my stuff running & keep me outfitted & supplied, with what I need!
Didnt have our key in stock.
Been a customer for years..Their products and services help keep Delwood Sportsplex going..
Called in about fixing my lawn mower today. Was told I could drop it off today, but they wouldnt be able to look at it for 2-3 weeks. How busy can you possibly be? Poor customer service by person who answered the call.
Best shop in the area, hands down
