If you are a guitar aficionado you owe it to yourself to visit Austin Guitar House. You will find gear that will blow your mind (and haunt your dreams for a while). And you get the feeling you are visiting your old friends house, you get to hang out with cool cats, play and talk music.

I was in a hurry when I stopped on, but being from Chicago, I had to at least stop by. Ended up late getting to my appointment because there is so much cool stuff! The staff was very friendly and made me feel at home immediately. I will definitely be back to actually try out a few things!

I spent a couple hours playing many different guitars, comparing to my own and the staff was very patient and helpful. No pressure, just made sure everything was working for me. As the other reviewers note, this is a shop for super quality guitars, amps, etc. If you are considering a Gibson or Fender Custom Shop or higher end guitar, come by here and compare to these smaller company guitars before spending the big bucks. If your price range is lower than that, stop by anyway, you may change. your mind.

I purchased my husband a Gibson ES175 for our anniversary. It arrived promptly & was just as described! He is thrilled! Excellent seller!

Im not gonna be one of these salty Karens that leaves a 1-star review because I was inconvenienced, but I will leave a 3-star rating and explain why.Heres the thing: I have no idea if the store is awesome or not. Their store hours on Google indicated they were open at 10am. When we got there, the big sign said they opened at 11am.Okay...so we drove around for an hour, came back, walked up the steps to find a notebook paper sized list of hours behind the bars on the front door saying the place doesnt open until noon.Guys, a $2 can of red paint or someone updating the stores hours on Google could have saved a couple of willing buyers a lot of aggravation.

Not your average guitar shop! Its filled with beautiful vintage pieces. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, comfortable and inviting. The staff is extremely knowledgeable! I would love to see more shops like this!!! Amazing selection!

Youll fall in love with AGH the minute you walk through the door (or maybe sooner when you pull into the parking lot). The selection is totally impressive. Ive been totally happy with everything Ive purchased at AGH. I found an amp at AGH that was the perfect replacement for my 59 & 71 Princetons (Its actually my sons but he lets me borrow it for gigs). This is THE premier guitar shop in Austin. This is not Guitar Center, nor a low-end mom-and-pop establishment. If spending $3,000 or more on an amp or guitar is bananas to you, then do not come here. This is a store for purchasing a high-end, handmade, boutique, heirloom quality piece of gear, that will hold its value, and last way beyond a particle board, import model, made by robots. They carry a wide selection of fine instruments and equipment, and are totally cool letting you try them out. The staff are knowledgeable about the products and are gigging professional musicians. AGH also host guest clinics and industry presentations that are first-rate. You owe it to yourself to go here and see what they have.Its magical.

I want to start this by saying this place isnt guitar center. If you want to go play on a Line 6 amp with a Jackson V guitar this is not the place for you. However if you want to compare some higher quality products and admire the craftsmanship that is required to make these instruments all under one roof this place is the real deal! I had an idea of what amp I wanted I wanted to get. Ray was super helpful and let me compare several different models before I made my decision. I will definitely come back and do business with them soon. The Carr Sportsman amp I ended up getting is awesome and I couldnt be happier. Thanks again for having such a great inventory, great staff and just an all around great store!

These guys are the real deal. I recently spent a small fortune on a very high end acoustic guitar. A McPherson to be specific and this not the kind of guitar you can just go to your local shop to try out. Right from my first e-mail interaction with Brent, my buying experience was simply outstanding. Brent took the time to promptly and thoughtfully respond to my e-mail messages and questions. And it was a pleasure to finally speak with him on the phone when I called in my payment information.As if that wasnt enough of an endorsement, there was an issue with the case when I received the guitar. No fault of Austin Guitar House or anything they could have necessarily done to avoid it. Moments after I e-mailed Brent about the issue he had already worked with McPherson on a resolution and gave me a couple of great options. A few days later my replacement case, an even better one, arrived with a call tag for the return of the damaged one.Brent and the gang at Austin Guitar House are a class act and I recommend them without any reservations whatsoever. Making a large, boutique purchase? Have no fear - these guys know what they are doing and will not disappoint! Thanks for an awesome guitar and for taking such good care of me!

I went in this store to try out an acoustic guitar amp. Brent knew how everything on the amp worked. Showed me how to dial in. I don’t usually get that kind of service in other Austin stores. These guys are legit! Give them a shot. Top notch! Cheers!

So this was my second time coming to this guitar shop. I was looking at a National Resonator Guitar. They were selling it for 3100 which isn’t a good deal in my opinion but I still entertained it. I asked to play the guitar and not 30 seconds into it some guy walked up and told me to “keep the mileage down on the guitar” and this isn’t “some guitar center”. Terrible customer service unless you’re agreeing to pay ridiculous prices for equipment you can easily get online. DO NOT RECOMMEND testing out guitars here, Check out Strait Music Center, they donate a lot of money to school music programs and don’t price gouge like these guys.

Fairly small shop with mostly new options. They did have some nice Mesas around. Probably a good spot for a beginner.

Nice people, i asked to play the gold top in the corner and was hit with the response of “well its a $7,000 guitar” justifiably it was locked up in a case but guitars are meant to be played not looked at, not to be snooty but i’ve played guitars well over that price in other stores. otherwise they have a nice selection but limited on the fender and gibson side of things.

Oz has a great store. If you are into electric guitars this is a must on your list. The equipment he has on the floor is hands down the most interesting and highest quality Ive seen. His staff is well matured and these guys are for real.

Promptly answered my questions via email. Staff was friendly when I came in to take a look around. Definitely a higher-end shop with gear that’s on the intimidating side of the price spectrum, but I felt welcome while walking around and looking. Impressive selection of effects pedals that I’m sure will bring me back in some time.

Probably one of the most amazing guitar experiences I have ever had! To call it a guitar shop would be putting this joint down. Class and style all the way around. Top notch! Having worked in a guitar shop for 8 years and been a player for 35 years I thought I knew guitars (brands), there were 6 guitars in there that I recognized the name. Master luthier guitars at AGH. Surprisingly prices were great, think Fender Custom Shop, PRS American Custom pricing, but multiply quality/uniqueness by 10!!! Just blown away! Go and if you cant buy a guitar. Spring for a really cool shirt! Cant wait to go back next time I visit Austin! Cant wait to buy a guitar from AGH! Thanks for the experience!

I have never been so insulted in my musical career. Lets show the gear I own. A mesa single rec with a mesa 412 cab. A box ac15, a Marshall vs8100, a fender 1960s vibro camp, and 8 guitars yet they wouldnt let me test the mkv short head. Excuse was the only care about money. They offer guitars no one has ever heard of for a rediculus price. Go somewhere else with your money, the only reviews they have were written by themselves and not actual customers. shame on mesaboogie for letting a store like this carry their products. Ive never been to a store that refused to let me demo an amp. Then they told me to go to guitar center where they let any bum play their gear. I guess I will, they have way better gear. Shame on you mesaboogie.
