Quick, efficient. I needed my timing belt replaced and Barber Honda had the best price (win-win.) I used to think that getting any work done at a dealership meant overpaying while they try to convince you that you need all sorts of additional unnecessary work done. I liked that they included other recommended services/repairs my car should get soon, but werent pushy at all about it. I also appreciate the mailed reminders for servicing my car.

The service people are nice. The wait in line for Express twice now has been over an hour wait with cars backed up out into the road. Last time my vehicle was covered in grease from mechanics leaning on my car. The work they do is what you would expect from a dealership. Just be prepared for a long wait!! Ive been in line for close to 5 hours at this point!!

We were driving from the SF Bay Area to the Grand Canyon and ran into an issue with our tire rim that had us stopping in Bakersfield and then again in Tehachapi and then BACK to Bakersfield to the Honda dealership to purchase a new rim. EVERYONE was so helpful and sympathetic to our plight and Richard went above and beyond by helping us find someone local who could put the rim on for us so we weren’t waiting all day as the service department was packed full the entire day. Not only did he refer us over to someone else to do the service work, but he also made arrangements for the rim to be delivered back to him so we could be on our way for our road trip. What a SAVIOR! Thank you, Richard, for your EXCELLENT service!

My wife and I are both impressed by Barbara Honda. Staff is always very professional and very nice but more importantly they really know what theyre talking about when it comes to taking care of your car. My wife and I baby are cars and they dont mind at all whatever little problem it is they take care of it. Just recently I had a small little thing that I need to take care of the guy said all no problem well fix it and they did. And didnt charge me a thing except for the parts.

Worst place to get an oil change . Instead of making it simple and have the cars be taken in, in the lines they are already parked in . They have you move your cars to pull cars out of the line to go into another . Makes no sense. So unorganized, this place is trash !

Took my 2019 odyssey for a recall concerning the fuel pump took a day to fix then got it back and drove fine till 2 weeks later the vehicle is hesitating to start and all the warning light are on so I took it back knowing it has to do with the fuel pump they did 2 weeks ago the guy at the desk I believe is Richard tells me it’ll take a week to fix I told him you expect me to stay a week with no transportation that’s ’my only way of transportation I asked if they have a loaner vehicleHe said unfortunately do to COVID there’s none available I guess COVID loved Barber Honda it already left everyone except them. Anyway I reached out to Honda America and told them about the situation and I guess they called them and 2 days later barber Honda calls me saying the car is ready I go there pick it up and I asked the front desk girl what was wrong with the car she tells me it was a loose o ring on the pump. no sorry for the inconvenience or nothing like if they did me a favor. if google would put a middle finger instead of the one star I would’ve chose that instead. Honda needs to do something about them take the license from them or something there ruining Honda’s image.

Literally the WORST experience EVER! They are so overworked that you cant even make an oil change appointment anymore. It is walk in only and people start lining up at 6:30 IN THE MORNING FOR AN OIL CHANGE! Im not sure who has time for that, but I can think of a million better ways to spend my day than sitting in line for six hours to get a 30 minute oil change... this dealership is a mess. Im actually going to sell my Honda because of this horrible dealership.

I am extremely disappointed with Barber Honda. Me and my family have been with Honda for years, and never have I had an issue with them prior to coming to this dealership. I was misguided, and based my financial decision off of incorrect information provided by one of their representatives. This has completely change my view of this location being credible and not to mention trust worthy. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They took advantage of my lack of knowledge and instead of helping me make an informed decision, sold me a warranty that was unnecessary. Its disappointing that they would take advantage of a loyal customer, and not be able to provide any solutions to the errors made on there end.

Went to get my car serviced. I called the day before to make an appointment and was told I dont need to make an appointment I can just come in and they will take care of me. Well the next day I drove an hour and a half and got there at noon and they were PACKED. I waited in line and a service member came out to tell me they were all booked up on walking and had a line full of appointments and 4 more appointments coming in and that was gonna take them til 530 when they stop work and close. I told her I called yesterday and was told no appointment necessary. She said I can walk in but it has to be very early in the morning because they fill up fast. I wish I was notified of this over the phone. This is why I called in advance to avoid these problems. I have 2 toddlers and a disabled mother with me. I have back problems and its not easy to get mom, the kids and me in the car and then sit for a drive that long only to be turned away. Very disappointed in the lack of information I was given.

When you have no competition in your marketplace by being the only Honda dealer, you provide lackluster service. Unlike dealerships in SoCal that may only be 10 miles or less from each other, Barber knows they have no competition locally. So they just dont strive to go the extra mile. Because of this, even though I live in Bakersfield, I almost always go to Galpin Honda when Im doing other business in L.A. The difference is night and day. Theyve done all my service and recall work, because Barber simply isnt worth my time.

I went to have my oil changed. I called yesterday and was told they open at 7:30 and if I was there by 7:30, I should be done in about an hour. I arrived at 7:10. There was a car in line for each door. Around 7:35 they finally opened the doors and started getting ready for the day. Someone came to our cars to gather our information. I was the fourth car there and she didnt come to talk to me until 10 minutes until 8:00. At which point she told me it would take at least 2 hours for them to change my oil. She informed me that the technicians dont start working on the cars until 8:00 and that they open at 7:00 for the technicians to get ready for the day not to start working. That is extremely poor customer service and misleading information when they say that the store opens at 7:30. I will not be going back to them. no respect for peoples time or for being honest

FIVE STARS for the Express Lube and service staff!ONE STAR is for the double booking of service appointments. You can make an appointment by phoning or online. Those two systems don’t seem to speak to each other.I arrived at 9:10 for my 9:30 phoned in appointment. There were 10 cars in the walk-in appointment line and 6 cars ahead of me in the appointment line. What?! There was no way my car would be done in the hour and a half I’d been told when I made my appointment.I was greeted immediately and gave my info to the service person. I asked if my car would get in near my 9:30 appointment time. I had planned to wait. She said yes, but I decided to beg a ride instead of waiting forever. I let them know I was leaving and waited for my ride.I got a call while I was still waiting and was told my car had to go into the shop to have fluids changed in addition to the oil change. Wish I’d known that before, but since I now had a ride, it wasn’t a problem.Two hours later, my car was finished. It was close to the hour and a half that I’d been told, but I was happy I wasn’t stuck waiting there the whole time.I’m hoping that double booking thing is taken care of soon. It’s shocking to pull up for an appointment and have so many others there waiting, too.

Very Disappointed in oil change Dept ..the fact i came as a walk in at 9 no cars in sight but 9nly 3 in and being serviced only to be stuck in less than an hour by soo many cars and still waiting when i coulda been seen right after any of the 3 being serviced they kept pulling cars in, left and right and me well still waiting then i called one of the girls and asked as to why i had to wait soo long ....she said i had another 1 hr and half to be even serviced ...i would never do my oil changes here ...

I had an appointment for 11:30 am. It’s 12:45 pm and still waiting in my car for someone to do a simple oil change. I’ve seen 3 walk-ins go in front of me. I went inside the service reception area to ask why people without an appointment are going in first and their response was that I’m next. Awful service, there is a reason why I made an appointment. And nobody can explain me why people without appointments are bumped in front of me.

Great customer service here. Being a dealer the price for maintenance is going to be higher. But working with them through warranty claims was very reasonable. A problem persisted after the warranty ended they were still able to cover it. The one downside is the shuttle is usually packed. So there is a long wait to get to your destination if you are far away.

*Post Edit - Follow-up on what Ive discovered.*Something that Ive come to learn is to definitely ask if, what, and/or when any services were performed by the dealership, on the vehicle, if purchasing one that has been previously owned.I say this because, as it turns out, in my situation it appears that nothing has been done other than the vehicle being detailed. I had checked the differential fluid, transfer case fluid, cabin air filter, brakes, and coolant in the vehicle, and it was clear that none of these common, routine maintenance, things had been performed. I even changed the questionably darkened oil in the vehicle because I was unsure of how long it, too, had been (even though the oil change indicator in the vehicle had been reset).I test drove the vehicle in the the middle of a nice sunny day, and when Id gotten home it turns out that the side markers and the fog lights were non-functioning. I changed the bulbs and they were still non-operational. I had to completely remove the front bumper to reconnect the wiring harness in order to get them to work. Ive still yet to be able to figure out how to get the rear windshield wiper to work, but I havent given up yet.I had the air conditioning system diagnosed and there were leaks in the system from missing o-rings on the connection joints from an attempted past service. Not sure when that occurred but I feel that is also something that should have been caught before selling a vehicle since it is also something that can easily be diagnosed.Additionally... I was sold an extended warranty on the vehicle, and instead of getting the warranty I was issued a refund. I went to ask what the refund was for and was told it was for the DMV fees and in fact in reality it was for the warranty that I wouldnt be getting. That was definitely questionable salesmanship.All in all, even though the initial sale and customer service experience seemed exceptional, I just felt that the detail and quality of the vehicle they were selling did not match the perception of the vehicle I was actually getting. I dont blame anyone since I, myself, failed to ask these questions, but its kind of sad that I should have had too considering I was purchasing the vehicle from a well known Major brands dealership. I guess it was definitely a learning experience.*Original Post Below*You know how often times when you walk onto a dealership and state that youre just looking theres this unnamed thing that happens where you instantly, magically, become an annoyance (or invisible)?This was absolutely NOT one of those times!Each sales representative was more than willing to make themselves available or answer any questions that I had without making the process awkward, competitive, or uncomfortable in any way. The standard remained consistent throughout the entire process and it genuinely felt like this team was just that... a team.I did end up making a purchase, and I would definitely recommend the location based off of that portion of the dealership experience.

Honda in my personal experience has always done a great job on my car... I avoided it for a while because I didnt have my A/C working... & with COVID-19 going on i just let it go. Finally I got the A/C taken care of here & they did such a GREAT JOB. Living in Bakersfield its pretty hard driving without A/C anybody can testify to that. After 9 years I had no cold air coming out & Honda technicians found the problem & fixed it really fast‼️made me wish I had done it years ago. Luckily the Heat doesnt get to me like the average person.. Racing in a stock car or even Carts have you in 🔥 fireproof suits & helmets so you get use to the Heat... But now I have my A/C working & I am truly thankful for their expertise. A SPECIAL THANK YOU goes out to RICHARD GARZA.. @BARBER HONDA I truly hope you know what a great guy you have working & representing your Company. He has ALWAYS been professional & Curtious & keeps his promises when he says things will get done & Honda can take care of me. He makes sure if you need a ride home OR asks if someone is gonna get you or if a ride is waiting for you already. He offers you the waiting room with plenty of water 💧 coffee ☕ or cocoa 😋 if you decide to wait. He CALLS 📞 you when he says he will & gives you the information his technicians have found out about your vehicles problems & then gives you the answers to what is needed to be done ✔ plus the cost of everything. If anything else arises later on he calls again to update the latest current problem.He informs you so that the customer isnt left wondering 🤔?? Thats a BIG deal for me & my family. I am so glad to see him at Honda again. We sure missed him & its nice to know that when a problem does arise with my Honda I can just call him up & know beyond a shadow of a doubt he puts his customers first & is always honest with me. So he alone made my visit SOOOO MUCH more comfortable & gave me confidence that the job was gonna get done right. He called me before the time he gave me because the technicians found & fixed the problem really fast. I truly appreciate that now because of what were all going through in this Pandemic. Honda did a great job & I will always give them my business as long as I am treated so well & my vehicle taken care. Having your Air Conditioner go out is pretty major for most people in Bakersfield but knowing you can take it here & have it fixed with original Honda parts made for my car with experts who do this everyday is a major deal .. add to that Richard Garza taking care of you.. its a winning combination for ANYONE. We stopped by in Friday. Asked to test drive an SUV. When the salesman came back he was like,Could you make it kinda quick, we dont want to rush you guys, but my manager told me to let you know that were about to close and to tell them that. WOW! Who does that? Wheres the customer service at in Bakersfield. Thats the 2nd dealership with a horrible approach to customer. Color of our skin definitely played a role in both. So sad.

Saw several poor reviews so I thought to go check my oil and fluids after an oil change. Discovered BOTH were bone dry. Pathetic considering how many cars we’ve bought from them over the years. In addition, this isn’t the first time I’ve had oil change issues. Not changing oil filter, “forgetting” to tighten the oil plug. And now no oil at all. That’s so beyond not right. Congratulations Barber Honda on saving, what, $10 worth of oil since now I’ll be buying and servicing elsewhere. Bye from a 30 year customer.

This year on February 8th I leased a car from this car dealership (the most pathetic dealership). At the time of leasing they were very sweet and helpful. But now from past 2-3 weeks I have been calling then to get few answers and help, there is no one to answer. First one person will receive the call and then it will be directed to concern authorities who will never pick up the call. They don’t even bother to get back to you even though you leave 1000’s of voice mails.By chance I was luck enough one day they picked up the call, but again super rude way to talk. They hanged up my call when I was expressing my concern and also they used very harsh language.I am suggesting and requesting to each and everyone who is reading this post to file a complaint to HONDA directly for this dealership. Its my request.Its high time to get a proper service for which we are paying. These guys are on cloud nine, we all can be together and bring them down.And please dont get into any business with them. You will definitely regret. I repeat you will regret.

Nobody here is wearing masks, even though they spend lots of time in close proximity to people. I almost died of covid so Im sensitive to this issue. My mom is elderly and has conditions that make her high risk, and she was forced to be exposed here. She even offered a mask to the employee and he just took it and put it away. We bought a used car here because it was the exact car we wanted, but if there would have been a similar option elsewhere with employees wearing masks wed have gone there. We were face to face talking to these people for about 3 hours, so its very irresponsible and disrespectful that theyre not wearing masks. We wore masks for their safety but they dont care about our safety. Unacceptable.

Brought my 2004 silverado in for a free oil change for veterans, when it was completed, keep in mind you can see the service center from outside, a service employee started revving my truck engine constantly. I talked to the service department gal, which was amazing, the dude started to rev the engine again when he brought to the staging area out back.Service techs need more common sense on treating other peoples vehicle with respect and not be stupid enough to rev a loud truck engine where everyone can hear.

I took my Honda to get a light being diagnosed and have an oil chance been done. I get home and see that the oil in my car is still dirty and my oil light being reset to 100% good. If I never checked my oil, I would been driving as if was change. I wonder if people check their car thinking they paid for a service and not get what they pay for. I talked to the service guy and said to take it that day and when I showed up, he was gone.

Awesome customer service! Dustin always kept me in the loop of what was going on with my vehicle wether it was good or bad. I was in and out of warranty service for over a month. The dealership was easy to work with but getting the Honda service rep and factory Honda on the same page was very difficult. I think Barber Honda could have pushed harder but maybe they had their hands tied. - I had a wiring harness issue with my 2019 Honda Pilot. Which Honda now has a class action lawsuits against for.

Took my 02 civic to get some recalls check out. My car was in good condition when I took it in. When I got it back is another story. My care wouldnt get out if park(automatic), the brake lights didnt work, neither my horn. They said it was like that when I took it in. Also that they were going to charge me to get it checked out when they messed it up. Now my SRS light came on. Hate this place.

Went in looking to purchase a car but after I was treated decided to take my business elsewhere. Salesmen didnt offer to help even when I told him I was in the market for a new vehicle, made it seem as if I couldnt afford a new Honda. Helped other people immediately while helping me who were white but took about 20mins to even offer to show me a car and it was not busy at all. Both salesmen didnt bother to even make business just trying to get me out of there. Wouldnt return to this dealership.

The most dishonest dealership in America, Honda makes great dependable cars, but this dealership will have you hate buying Honda, service is good, but you have to wait weeks before you can get in, oil change reception employees are mad and aggressive at all times until someone they personally know comes in, then its hey, how are you? Hows the kids? The gave me the run around to fix my car until the warranty was out, they did not see it one time under warranty.If the Japanese Honda owner ever reads these comments, I ask you to bring a Japanese team to Barber Honda to teach these guys a bit of respect and HONESTY! Honesty is missing in this particular Honda.I gave it one star because I dont see negative five stars.

I really like the sales folks. Super clean and inviting inside with no pressure nor sales gimics.They lost a star for the service department reception. She was dismissive of my questions.

Dustin ALWAYS is open and up front. He continues to go above and beyond customer service not just for myself but for my daughter when she brings her Civic in also. Thank you Barber Honda for having someone like Dustin in your Service department.

Theyre straightforward and they do what I ask when I ask for it and they let you know on stuffs not good on your car so that you can fix it. Parts department is pretty good they didnt pressure me to fix anything or buy anything extra they let me really take charge of what I want to do with my car. Good honest feedback
