Very cool record store. Lots of selection of CDs, Movies, AND Records. Everything is reasonably priced except newer items are a little pricier but nothing too expensive. They also have a great selection of awesome stickers. Definitely loved this shop and they have plenty of great finds for everyone!

Great record shop, but also has niche games, books, and decor for music lovers, pop culture lovers and people with great taste.

Great place to find all genres of music. You will find most of the music is being sold on vinyl. What goes around comes back around. Time to invest in a Victrola. 🙂

One of the last true record/CD stores. I love this place and hope they stick around forever. Like Eddie Trunk, Im old school and still prefer my music on physical and tangible media, not digital. Online shopping for digital music cannot replace the experience of going to a great place like The Sound Garden, browsing the collection, and finding new or sought after music. Customer Service is also excellent, no less than three staff members, including the store manager (i think) helped me try to find a CD I asked about, only to find out someone may have gotten a five finger discount on the merchandise. Although that wasnt the best outcome, that level of assistance in unprecedented and not found in most places today. I need to shop here more frequently and plan to, whenever I want to add new music to my CD collection. Ill be back, hopefully sooner rather than later!

I love going here, and just hunting through their movie and music collection, I find myself looking and finding all kinds of gems and just cant get enough.

It was OK. The staff was helpful, they work there, it is thier job. The selection was good but they didnt have the record (cd) I was looking for. I would recommend checking them out, they might have your favorite. I would go back... cool spot

Outstanding record store in the same vein as Reckless in Chicago or Vintage Vinyl in St. Louis. Very fairly priced, often below online prices for new records. Good selection of new and used records. Also sells movies and music memorabilia.

This place was real nice dont get me wrong, there is a wide variety of records and it has a really cool atmosphere. However, I came in to buy a replacement cartridge for my turntable and asked the guy at the register of he had any. He gave me a $45 cartridge saying it will fit on mine, but it did not. Im quite upset.Like I said, really cool place, but I would suggest sticking to records.

I really do like the store. Its a cool place in a beautiful waterfront neighborhood and I have been here many times and found many great records. They have a lot of other cool merchandise, too.But I have found the staff ranges from not-friendly to rude. Recently I asked my friend about the staff there, wondering if it was just me. He completely agreed that they are uninviting and almost act as though they have a distain for the customers. And I have found this repeatedly to be the case, over several years of coming here. I write this review in hopes that the ownership will read it and correct it, because I think the store can improve in this aspect.When I go to a record store, I assume the workers are passionate about music and would be happy to share that love with the customers. Were all there because we love music, right? Most any other store Ive gone to, the workers are more than happy to suggest new music and chit chat about our favorite artists or new releases. Here, maybe the workers are disgruntled from being in a high traffic area, or I can only imagine why else theyre so disgruntled. But dude, you work in freaking record store. You should be able to have fun with it, and make other people feel welcome.

Always the best. They are honest about weather they can order an iteam or not.If they cant order something that you want, I know you will find something in the store. All you have to do is take a walk through the whole store and you will find something that will catch your eye, from horror to comedy to animation. If you are looking for a movie or music you will find it here. Poop I forgot to mention, you get a friendly hello when you walk in and when you go to the register you get did you find all that you were looking for if not they will look it up. Sound Garden is a cornucopia of awesome records and music paraphernalia! The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, quick to help you find what you’re looking for, and their selection is so broad and diverse. As someone who is new into vinyl, it’s been awesome to have a place like this so local to Baltimore and explore their selection!

I often sell my DVD and Blue rays here and am always just treated completely disrespected. It’s almost as if the employees think that the movies are stolen, they are completely rude to me and whenever I try to have a conversation with an employee they often ignore me or just give rude gestures. It is a great store and I love the idea of a movie and record store but they act like when I sell stuff there it is a hassle to them. If it bothers them so much, then don’t buy movies and vinyl !!!

I always have a great experience at the Sound Garden. Whether I am just browsing or I am searching for something specific it never disappoints. The staff here is very knowledgeable and always friendly!

I have been going to the sound garden since I was a teenager, almost 20+ years. They have always had an awesome selection of music as well as really interesting merchandise and novelties. It’s a great place to pick up an awesome gift, or just spend time browsing. The staff has been consistent the entire time I’ve been a customer and seeing familiar faces makes this place some where I look forward to going and must say a lot about how they feel about their jobs. If you are visiting Baltimore the sound garden and surrounding boutiques in fells point are a must.

Best record store in DMV!!! Worth the drive even if youre far away. So many CDs, vinyl records, dvds and blu rays, new and used. Even some rarer/obscure stuff. Lots of posters, shirts, and memorabilia too. Highly recommended for any music enthusiast.Only problem is that there isnt much parking. Luckily there was enough space when i visited, but you may have to park elsewhere during busier times or if your vehicle is particularly large.

I love this place, I spent alot of my youth in record shops and this one is amazing!!!!

Im the Hugest Music Person.. as a little girl my Dad was a DJ so he had every Vinyl known. He left out family and his equipment and a few vinyls I played daily it was the only thing that made me feel connected with tears in my eyes. Stopping in this awesome dope store brought back so much Nostalgia and Im 35 now and I take music everywhere with Meeee.. And this place has everything in CD or Vinyl form no matter the Genre, No matter the Era its wonderful if youre a Huge music Junkie. Im getting a classic machine just to get back to the collection my dad had!!. So grateful for having the time and opportunity to be in there for as long as I wanted they even have super neat socks from weed to food to cartoons. You just have to go you wont regret it.

What a record store! I had read on Vinyl Me, Please that it was the best record store in Maryland, and I can see why.Well organized, good selection of new and used records, great variety of music. All-around solid shop. I got some rock, funk, jazz, and pop picks that were on my list for a min. Super excited to come back.

This shop is soooooo cool. I went here at night time. Im not really a music person but i went in anyway to check it out.Loved it! It has so many random things like funny stickers, funny magnets, patches, board games, books, shirts, mugs etcetera etcetera! One of my all time favorite record shops on the east coast. Whenever Im down in Baltimore from Philly, I make a concerted effort to come to Soundgarden. The selection is always top notch, whether its for Jazz, Indie, Alternative, Punk, Metal, even Classical. Prices are some of the best, and every time Ive left with a rarer or original pressing I did not I needed. Staff is also very helpful and very nice.

Not very friendly here. Was approached by an employee with no one else around me and was told to put the mask above my nose. Then was told by the employee in an angry tone, I dont want to die.

Authentic record buying experience!

Ive always enjoyed coming here as a young rockstar who enjoyed music as much as life itself. And now I love to bring my nephew and watch him enjoy it as much as I did. I also love that they have their own parking lot. That saves a huge problem from not having to walk blocks away.
