Free comic book day is always great. But any day there is a great day, good selections, friendly and helpful staff.

Whats not to love about this place? I was able to find two TPBs that Id been looking for along with a collection that was selling for double the price online.

The last few books in my subscription box have not shown up. Sure the mail system can be blamed but I went there yesterday for a second time to see if my books have shown up. They were there but in a box and the dude told me to come back later; he wouldnt give them to me then and there. Nevermind that the books came out a week ago and youre just getting them in, but now I have to make a third trip back to the store because you couldnt just open a box and give me the book. Its a damn good thing its the only comic store in a 20 minute radius or I would definitely be switching stores.

Good selection good costumer service. First time in there and they didnt have as big of a backlog as other TFAW stores.

A great friendly place. I was there for their funkos, which they had a lot of. They also had a bunch of comics and some games. While i cannot directly comment about their stuff other than funkos i was looking for, i can say that the shop person was extremely helpful. A couple regulars showed up while i was there and they got directed to what they were looking for and seemed pleased (based on what i overheard after they stopped talking to shop person). Also appears they will hold orders for you. Something about a box they have assigned to you.While not one of the shops i would normally goto, i do stop by frequently for their funkos and would recommend someone to check them out. They do not deal in everything, but what they do deal in they are a good place to visit. Shop person (sorry not sure if she is manager, owner, or employee) but she is extremely helpful.

Good variety of books but I was a little disappointed by the poster selection. The refrigerator 🧲 were nice.

Great place Friendly staff

This was my first time visiting this place. Very impressed. Tons of graphic novels, Funko pops, action figures, and high end statues. Everything was very reasonably priced. But what really made the place stand out was the great customer service. I think the fellow working the store was named Max. He knew my friend by his first name, and even allowed my wife to use my friends membership discount when making her purchase. She found a messenger bag, and some dice that she really liked. He also went to the trouble of unboxing a statue for us, just so we could get a good close look at the detail and quality. He even offered to set it aside for us, while we considered buying it. A person really couldnt ask for more from a comic shop. A great selection, great prices, and excellent customer service. We will definitely be visiting this place again. :)

Really cute little comic store. The comic book selection itself seemed a little small, but there were plenty of fun, cute, nerdy toys and figures and little thingys to look through that made it a fun visit. Weve been there a few times now, and every time the staff has been very friendly and helpful. If youre going there to pick up a recent comic issue, Id maybe just call ahead to see if they have it before you head over.

Nice comic book shop. Main focus is comic books, they have a few action figures, some rpg stuff, etc.... Found a Star Wars cross stitch kit there. Unexpected. 😊 Guy in store seemed real nice.

Recently moved to the area and visited several stores trying to find a new home for all my nerdy needs and Things From Another World is definitely it. Staff was absolutely excellent and the store has everything you could ever want at very reasonable prices. Cant wait to have enough free time to attend events and get to know everybody. I highly recommend this place!

Nice little shop, but you can tell its a corporate run establishment. Kind of cookie cutter bit with some neat finds spread throughout. Bonus points for having a Lord Shaxx from D2 statuette!

Good store but you have to go in knowing what comics you want. They dont let you see inside the comics. How am I supposed to know if its any good? If you spend 4 or 5 bucks on multiple bad comics well you just wasted money. So go to the website to see a blurb of the comic, hassle though.

Super awesome friendly service. Great selection of comics, and collectables. If you plan on getting a couple titles regularly I highly recommend getting set up with a box here and getting the 10% off you purchases.

I just wish they had a different organization of their comics, but I gave them a 5 star since they seem to have a pretty good system in place already. 10/10 Will return soon for more graphic novels!My only wish is they had vertigo separated from dc because I love vertigo. Staff seems to be very knowledgeable about their products and always willing to make a great recommendation.

This is such a great place! Thoughtful and knowledgeable staff who are always ready to any sort of question - whether you are an aficionado or clueless about the comic universe. They make my older Aspergers son feel so at home and for that I am eternally grateful.

Comic book stores are a dying breed with the introduction of the internet so many decades ago. This place needs your business, because it thrives off of passionate fans of comics, board games, and fun merchandise. Keep this one open. The shelves are always stocked with new things, and the quality of product is astounding for the variety of things they sell.

Ive had a subscription box at Things From Another World since high school. They always have something new and cool to check out. Im getting my grade school aged daughter into comics now and making our monthly visit here is a great time we share. Admittedly, the selection at the Beaverton store isnt quite as large as some of the other stores, but its much closer to our house so its easier to make it in here.

Been going here since I was a kid. They stock way more toys and Pop! figures now. Sad to see so many singles go away but I understand it is part of the bussiness and evolution of the culture into more main stream than 20 years ago. They still have a great selection of new singles and trades though. The staff is awesome and they all really know their stuff.

Selection of products is definitely impressive for how small a shop it is. Great range of items from comics, toys, apparel, and Misc. I certainly enjoy the Misc because Im always fascinated by what strange new items they have in stock whenever I visit. The staff has always been very nice and helpful. I once saw an employee sprint down the street because a customer had left his wallet. Pretty impressive :-). The only thing I dont like about TFAW is that their markup seems to be pretty high. Items are pretty expensive compared to what you might find for the same items online.

Great customer service and they know a lot about comic books, graphic novels, and geeky stuff. If they dont have any thing they will order it if they can. One of the last few places of its caliber to buy this kind of stuff from. Great place!

Kinda hard to find. Not super accessible in terms of parking. And using a wheelchair inside is fine, if there is literally no one else in the store. If theres more than a couple of people, getting around in a wheelchair to look at the store or move around without being in the way is almost impossible.

They have a ton of funko pops and a good selection of trades, comics and omnibus!

Just found out about heroclix a few days ago and called around to a bunch of places, these guys had the most options as well as helped me out the most getting into it. Super helpful and excited for the support in a new hobby.

Our favorite comic and other fun stuff store. We attend the FCBD here every year. Along with what appears to be a large selection of comics there are also figurines, accessories, game cards, dice, and so much more. Its a fun place to check out.

Went there for Free Comic Book Day and was impressed with the wide selection of new, old, and collected editions of comics they had. They also sell a decent amount of comic/pop culture character physical merchandise, and some popular cult board games. The staff was helpful, albiet flustered because of the day I was in. A good place to stop for comics.

To call this spot a comic book store is an understatement, its more of a gateway to Narnia. The staff are expressly knowageable on a broad selection of topics and are always smiling. If youre having issues finding what to read next this is the store to visit.

Things From Another World is the only place I will go for comics anymore. They have an incredible staff that is very friendly and always helpful when Im trying to track down a specific comic. They also keep their prices at MSRP on things like Magic: The Gathering and other games like that. Which sets them apart from all the other retail chains that mark that kind of product up. I cant recommend this place enough for anyones comic books and general nerd needs!

Ive had a subscription box there since 1989 and love the place (obviously) - that was when they were still Pegasus. They always have great people working there who are always helpful. It feels like Home.

When I was 15-16 I fell in love with this shop and spent a good amount of time in it, sadly I had moved out of the area for several years. 11 years later (and moving back to the area) I walked into TFAW with a big grin on my face as nostalgia swept over me. The people are fantastic, the Doctor Who corner excited me at first sight, stocked with new and old items, trinkets and patches, theres so much to look at and so many I wants and just not enough money in my pocket. If you havent stopped by, I say do so; its a must!

Omg so much fun to go and look around! I took my 10 year old the other day and the look on his face was like hed just found gold. We were able to get an item sent from the Portland store to the Beaverton store, with just a very helpful staff member, Ana I believe. If you are a geek, go geek out. There is something for you in there.
