Shopped here earlier today with my significant other, was a very awkward experience. We were not greeted at the door, and were followed throughout the store. Staff didn’t ask any questions/comments while they were watching us go through every aisle. While checking out our total was $86, I asked if I could pay $80 on my card and the six in cash. The clerk asked me if he could see my six dollars before approving the transaction, and he couldn’t finish helping us without seeing it. We we’re definitely racially profiled.

Located on the south shore of Bemidji easy access in & out to get what you need. Bemidji Lakeview Liquor also carry regionally made products like can/bottle of craft beer which includes Bemidji Brewings German Blonde & an IPA. Several Fine Spirits & Liquor and Wines, most are marked as Minnesota MadeThey are very good at keeping on hand a variety of new types of seasonal products. Last time I was there they were sampling five different summer type options for serving something new and refreshing.They have two check-outs so people move through quickly.The staff are product knowledgeable courteous & helpful.

DO NOT SHOP HERE IF FROM OUT OF TOWN. For the first time in my life I was turned away from a business because my LEGALLY ACCEPTED form of ID was an out of state vertical ID. Their antiquated policys that ignore lawful IDs in favor of their own interpretation makes this business a must avoid at all costs. Dont waste your time here.

Usually go to Lakeview because its the closest liquor store. Unfortunately the last 2 times I went there the beer has been expired. Once the beer I got was molded inside the box, beer was expired from 2018, went back to return it and they BARELY were willing to return it. Now I just got back from there 6pm on a Sunday so they are closed now, but yet aga, come on.

They denied me sale and threatened to call the cops, stating I was underage, even though I was above the legal drinking age with a valid ID. Very rude

I went in there with some friends and when me and one of my friends were going to taste a drink when I showed my ID, I was treated as if I was minor!!! I have an out of state ID but still it is not expired. I am 21 however, my state does not issue new licenses when you turn 21. I do still have the red line that says says turns 21 on 02/**/2014!!!!! I dont see why I should have been turned away since I had a valid state ID! Then I was also told that I shouldnt come back till the red line is taken off my ID!!! Well I can honestly saw that I wont be going back there again.

Worst place ever. The management is going to see a continued decline in their sales with staff like theirs. Valid Ids arent valid here.... heaven forbid you see a friend in the parking lot or store. You are both suddenly shopping together. This place blows. Go literally everywhere else

Went here with my friends and they told us they don’t accept vertical North Dakota IDs and then when I, with my horizontal ID tried to buy alcohol she wouldn’t accept it because “I was in a group” with all of my 21 year old friends? Had to put all of our alcohol back and drive all the way to a different liquor store.

A fairly decent liquor store with nice staff and good beer selection.

Honestly the store set up is fine and the cashiers are friendly and helpful a majority of the time But one thing I couldn’t help but notice when I made a visit this evening was the lack of professionalism from the manager to scream at your employee as a way to correct them is just ridiculous especially in front of customers.

Found what I was looking for and a few interesting extras. Good place to shop for party needs.

We were asked to leave the store after my wife had only her Brazilian passport, and they are unable to accept passports due to blah blah (who cares what the policy is, its clear that dont want to service non-americans.) Arent passports harder to fake or replicate and therefore more reliable than a simple state ID? Shouldnt a form of identification that can get you into and out of foreign countries be more easier to verify than something that can be faked with a home printer and template from the internet? Who knows! Who knows...

Theyve recently increased their selection. Lakeview lacks a wide variety of craft beers and caters more to those who are looking for your typical Busch, Bud, and Miller. It is a city liqour store, so it is conveniently located right in town. If I have time, I prefer Discount Liqour, north end of town; or one of the stores outside city limits.

Impersonal and unfriendly service. They will refuse foreign passports with accompanying valid foreign drivers licenses, some licenses from other states (including Missouri, Florida, and Maine), and recently renewed Minnesota licenses (yellow sheets) with accompanying photo ID. It is far worth it to drive the fee miles south to Beehive Liquors for friendlier service and a wider selection.

What did I like about it? Not much. Staff was rude. Someone followed my brothers and I around the store and stared us down as we perused the whiskey shelf. When we went to pay they refused my one brothers VALID (accepted everywhere except here, apparently) passport card id. Then, they refused to sell to my other brother and myself. We are all obviously of age (in our late 20s early 30s) and were purchasing quality liquor ($109 bottle of scotch). Its ridiculous that we were refused because, one of us, has an ID that theyve, and I quote: never seen one like this before. Were 100 miles away from the Canadian border, and this kind of ID is common and accepted every where else in northern mn (and the world). I used to shop here often, now Im going to avoid and tell everyone I know to not shop here.

For the first time in my life I was denied alcohol at a liquor store because they just dont take PASSPORTS or International IDs as a form of identification.A staff member told me we cant take passports because we cant verify them and Of course I said dont passports kind of verify themselves? My passport is my only form of ID in this country, since I am a foreign person. Would you accept my Brazilian drivers license? I can show you 2 other forms of Brazilian ID to prove that I am of age. The staff member proceeded to tell me that he could not do anything about it and that my husband and I should leave the store and find another place.This is very upsetting and j feel very descriminated against.

They wouldnt accept my husbands passport and he is 33. He wasnt even paying. They allow children but not legit adults with federal IDs. On top of all of that they proudly exclaimed that they dont accept military IDs. As a veteran of the United States Army and Bemidji being my home town I was absolutes insulted. Soldiers can die for them, but they cant buy alcohol. I told them they should all be ashamed of themselves and walked out. Beehive liquor is great and they follow the law and treat people like human beings. Dont support these 2 main liquor stores in Bemidji. They also will not be opening for Sunday liquor sales like every other store and town in the entire state. Their loss.

I literally just created a gmail account just so I could write this review. I have never been treated so inhumanely by a place I was willingly giving my money to. It was truly astounding. I had sent an employee there to pick up champagne. 1) The clerk said he put the reciept in the bag. He did not. 2) I called and asked if he could find me the receipt, as I needed it for accounting purposes. He said, and I quote, You want me to dig through the garbage to find your stupid receipt? This place should be out of business. They routinely treat their customers like stray dogs. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO LAKEVIEW LIQUORS IN BEMIDJI. There are cheaper options in town with much friendlier service. It will be my lifes mission to ensure that the scar of Lakeview Liquors is removed from Bemidji, MN.
