Mountain supply is a very resourceful establishment that is a one stop shop for all things mountain adventures. They were very helpful and kind enough to accommodate my last minute rental request. I would definitely recommend stopping by even if it is just to say hi to the local folks and find out about the conditions around the area. Cheers.

Personal approach to all customers. Manager went out of their way to handle an issue I had with an item. I also witnessed two employees helping customers with recommendations on local hikes and climbs. Way more than a place to buy outdoor gear. Its a community here. .

Great gear store, really nice selection of gear for a variety of sports. As a climber and hiker they definitely had everything we needed. The staff are really knowledgable and will help you try on, test, and choose between a variety of options.

Like many others have already said, Mountain Supply has high quality gear and excellent customer service. I have bought boots and climbing equipment from Alex, and have only had positive experiences each time. He is knowledgeable, easy going and patient. Lacey, Amanda and Nick are also kind, experienced and helpful. Additionally, having Sage (the sweet shop dog) around to pet is a big bonus. I also believe that, whenever possible, it is just and right to buy from a local store.

Great local store with a wide variety of camping and outdoor gear. Backpacks, shoes, sleeping bags, maps, stickers, clothes, discs for disc golf, sun hats- the list goes on and on. Well organized and clean, safety measures in place and nice employees.

Best place to get your gear in Central Oregon. They are very knowledgeable and super nice people.

Low key but serious mountaineering store

I tried to rent snow shoes for a moonlight trip. I was told it would be a 2 day rental unless I returned them before they closed at 6pm. Apparently, she did not hear the moonlight part of my trip plans. I asked if there was a 24hr rate and she told me it was a two day rental. Instead of renting snow shoes for the night for $15, she followed the store policy to the letter. If I was a small business owner, I would prefer to have $15 then snow shoes hanging on the wall.I went around the corner to Gearfix and got a 24 hr rental for $14.

Rented AT and splitboard packages for a day. They had plenty of options for gear. Walked us through all of the features of the gear. $60/day is hard to beat for complete AT package

I have spent probably like $1000 at this store over a year and half. They have good selection of gear at high retail prices. That fair. I try and shop at local places but they dont help with returns on the gear they sell. I feel like they should have a customers back about defective gear. I dont expect them to act like rei but reasonable working as a middle man between manufacturers and customers is what im paying them for. From now on Ill just buy what I want from the internet and pay a third less like i recommend you do before you shop there.

Travis in the ski department was SUPER helpful and knowledgeable. Next time I make a big purchase for my back country set up, I will refer to him!

Awesome staff! I was looking for trail runners for light mountaineering and one of the staff members had the perfect suggestion that turned out to be better than what I had been looking for originally.

Very happy with the time Travis took to get us into the right pairs of cross country skis. At some other stores, you could practically feel the clerks rolling their eyes when a couple of senior citizens came in asking a lot of questions. Travis was very courteous, and treated us with patience and respect. We also feel we got a good deal as they had a sale going on for packages for different levels/interests. As we left, we mentioned having trouble with a trekking pole that day (not purchased there) and they suggested bringing it in to see what they could do. Fortunately it fixed itself in the parking lot.

Walked in to grab some climbing shoes and was met with amazing customer service and a really in depth fitting process and an honest review of each feature of each shoe. Super knowledgeable and approachable staff and a great selection. Whatever they’re paying Wolf isn’t enough he is super knowledgeable on climbing stuff and helped me out while not making me feel like a noob. Will be buying all my future climbing gear from here.

After searching in more than six shops in Portland and Bend for the Metolius Bravo II quickdraws, Mountain Supply was the only place able to source them for me - and at incredibly short notice too. Everyone I spoke to there was extremely helpful and nice. If you are looking for climbing or other outdoor gear, I highly recommend checking it out. They came through when REI and other big retailers couldnt. Thank you!

Friends and I were in Bend recently before we headed out to do a great 20 mile loop in the Sisters Wilderness. Delta airlines lost the pack of one of our group and Mountain Supply were total lifesavers. The staff is a wealth of information and helped a lot to re-supply our friend. Rude. Condescending when I asked questions and couldnt be bothered with helping me find what I was looking for. Rolled their eyes and had to be asked several times to get the shoes I was trying to purchase from the back.

This place is great! Kevin found the hiking boots that were best for me and the entire staff helped us plan the rest of the day due to a weather change at Crater Lake that they told us about. If we had not learned about the North entrance closing our entire day would be ruined but they helped us come up with plan B and the day was wonderful! Shop local everyone!

Walked in with my mini labradoodle puppy on a lease. She was attacked by a much larger adult dog roaming freely in the store which had to be dragged off her while she yelped in panic. The dog was evidently owned by an employee who neither apologized or asked if my dog was ok. We left. I would be very concerned to bring a small child into that environment.
