Standard corner store at first glance but with a few niche items that keep me coming back. Their entire back wall has some of the most diverse beverage options Ive seen and I always try something new. They also have a great selection of South Asian spices/ingredients. All my favorite curry mixes are from here.
Got some rice there that was made from vegetables i guess and was delicious and when you add it to boiling water you immediately take it off the heat and let it sit for 12 mins and its done. 1 cup to 1.5 cups water.
All of the basic shelf stable items, plus an incredible selection of Indian spices (mix of whole and ground) and dal (lentils). Millennials: GT’s kombucha on tap, hot samosas, and TCHO chocolate. And a UPS pickup/drop off point. You can get all your neighborhood business done here!Spices include but are not limited to: fennel seeds, fenugreek, mustard seeds, green cardamom pods, black cardamom, turmeric, garam masala, curry powder, chili powder... the list goes on and on...
Great little corner store, they type that everyone needs near by. Nice mix of the stuff you need, and a few things that you just might want. Fantastic people running THEIR little shop. Also a FedEx and UPS drop off point. Nice to pick up your packages while you are not home, and do not want them left on the porch.
Oh my my local market. What can I say? The nicest owners and they listen to their customers. We like to drink and they deliver 🙏🏽
Hair in my food and everything is stale/sticky.
Not much of a drink selection that isnt alcoholic beverages they had plenty of that
Good beer selection. Decent groceries. Good stop if youre in a pinch. Friendly folks. Always open.
Cedar Market is a throwback to a time when corner stores like this one were scattered throughout our neighborhoods. Its family-owned and run, and all of its profits stay local. Find your last-minute ingredients, drinks, and treats here, and keep a local treasure going.
Nice little place, people there are friendly and they have a lot of staples and a surprisingly wide variety of beer
I found what I needed, paid with my EBT, the line moved swiftly and grew behind me. It used to a candy store and it has more of the healthier stuff now.
Nice corner store, hand made samosa is only $2 ea and they are amazing!
The staff seemed nice but the adage penny wise and dollar foolish came to mind this morning when I realized they charged me an extra 50 cents for my newspaper because I used Apply pay. It would have been nice to know that before hand. It left a very bad taste in my mouth and I probably wont return. Even 7/11 doesnt do that to their customers, and this one is supposed to be serving a local neighborhood!
Hot samosas! A corner market with a distinct personality.
The person who checked out my stuff was very rude
Excellent prices for fruit and vegetables. The quality of the product is stellar and the place is very colorful with a lot of variety
Great neighborhood market. Would like to see more west coast IPAs and less hazy, east coast IPAs.
Excellent service, nice people
Great beer selection. Seriously. And pretty inexpensive for a corner market situation. People seemed to be enjoying the coffee. And the woman who has regular ly helped me is lovely.
This market is a North Berkeley gem. The people are so nice and the samosas are divine! They have all the usual corner store necessities, some unexpected nice surprises and Indian spices too!
Pretty cool neighborhood market thats perfectly located. Lots of snack and meal options here and they cater to the Berkeley lifestyle with vegan and organic options. Cool selection of Indian and other foreign foods. We picked up some Kona coffee, baklava, Berkeley farms milk and glazed donuts. All good. Staff was kind and helpful.
Nice folks. Good and wine selection. Convenient location.Im really glad that the new owners took on this business recently. We have been the neighborhood since 2001 and rarely visited this store. Now I go a couple times per month.
Amazing wine and beer selection at a great price. The woman working there was so nice, I was so impressed!
Great store to stop by for a snack or fresh somosas, donuts and Indian food.
A rare hold-out among the chain quickie marts, his Berkeley flats institution endures as a classsic Corner Store, worthy of the label.
A good little neighborhood market with good Indian food and Peets coffee! If youre hungry for a good samosa, stop by!
A close corner store with the essential goods plus a solid wine selection. Very friendly family-run business. Also, home made samosas!!
Great neighborhood market! Wide range of products and friendly staff
This place is great for a quick run. Eggs, wine, hot coffee. Fresh Samosas every day
Convenient corner store with impressive basic grocery selection (including some Indian groceries), basic needs, and variety of alcohol
Great neighborhood store with a couple of hot eats.
Wonderful market. Really nice people. Excellent selection of wine and food. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
This place had undergone a recent renaissance. Now though, can buy Indian snacks here, as well as milk, bread, and other staples.
Ive been going to this market my whole life, Im glad it moved in to another nice family.
The staff is truly amazing and I have been going there for years and not had a single problem they are truly generous.
The market has been improving recently but wanna see more effort😜
My people! Great store, they will carry items if you are a regular and ask, they recently installed a Peets coffee service, for quick drive-bys, and a nice selection of wines and beers for the locals. Really nice people own this store.
Good selections for a liquor store with tasty samosas to boot.
Ok not the most high-quality food but is a good place for a quick snack
Its got heart
Great corner market.
Has every little thing u can think off
These folks have fresh daily Somosas - need I say more? Really they are very nice and friendly people. They have an interesting array of goods including wines, cheeses and bottled smoothies, sodas from out of the norm companies, variety of health drinks, juices, waters and a few I dont know what the heck they are! Some fresh fruits. And a Petes coffee machine that churns out Awesomeness! I love this place. A great little corner store. Lastly I dont even live near this store but have done work in the area. Anytime I get get close I stop say hi, get a somosa and something to drink providing Im not broke. Thats it.
Fantastic staff, Good Peets coffe, good selection and everything you need basically
Personable staff Bright light, great selection of beer and wine. Nice lady runs the place
What is the matter here? I didnt rate theto get the review market 4 stars .The stars magically apprared & I couldnt get rid of them. The market has terrible masala chai & the frozen/packaged Indian food isnt market with prices. I wont return there. The market doesnt deserve even one star.
This store advertises Indian food on the signs outside. The masala chai is tasteless, and many of the groceries are not marked with their price. Moreover, the shopkeeper didnt give me the penny I was entitled to when I gave him a dollar for the 99 cent chai. I will not return there and will get my Indian food and groceries somewhere else.
Great selection of wine and beer here. Good hours.
Clean, well lit mom & pop corner store for all of your corner store needs.
Great place to get something quick!!Samosas are amazing!
Great veggie samosas.
Samosas! Samosas! Samosas!! Best samosas in east bay !!!
Childhood store that I grew up going to a million times.
New management, good stuff, very convenient. Love it

I often stop here for their hot chai and samosas . Expensive groceries but the small hot food is a good deal!
