Great experience. Joe was super helpful. I was on the hunt for a Trek Precaliber 24 for my sons birthday. Everyone close to me was telling me early 2022! Checked Trek site and they showed Griffin with stock. Called and spoke to Joe. I wasnt going to be able to make it by closing time, but he stayed open 30 minutes longer so I could get the bike. We have a very happy boy today.

I was insulted multiple times by multiple staff members here.I brought in my bike and kindly asked to see if it could get repaired. The individual at the service desk took a look at my bike and insulted it for not being a high-end bike. I do appreciate the honesty but at a certain point, it comes off as rude and degrading, especially with multiple customers watching my bike get evaluated. I felt extremely humiliated in front of 20+ people and all I wanted was to see if I could get a repair. The individual eventually said that he would refuse to work on the bike because it is simply not worth his time. I was not expecting a complete repair; I just wanted to fix the brakes and do some wheel alignment and it would have been the easiest $50 to pocket.On top of that, another worker came out of the repair shop, pointed at my bike, and yelled out, Oooh, no no no thats bad. I am not exaggerating; this was exactly what he said in front of a crowded store.On one hand, I can understand that businesses can refuse service if they believe it is not worth their time. On the other hand, the associate did tell me it would have been an easy repair. I felt very discriminated against. If you have a high-end bike, then this is the shop for you. If you do not, you may be out of luck. I apologize I do not have $500 to spend on an entry level bike. I understand that bike culture can be extremely toxic now.

Griffin Cycle is the place to go for long-term bike rentals in the DC area. The quality of bike you get for the price really cannot be beat. I personally did a 4 week rental which covered over 700 miles and the bike held up great. I was even discounted for a few tube replacements. Highly recommend!

I went to Griffin Cycle after visiting a couple of other shops. The difference between Griffin and the other well-known ones ( each is part of a different chain) was stark and clear. Griffin has friendly, experienced people who really know what they are talking about. They also listen to the consumer, are patient, and instill a sense of confidence that the other retailers definitely did not do. I have no problem with very young salespeople. But the other shops had only young and impatient salespeople who could care less about the consumer! Not the case at Griffin. These are experienced, knowledgeable and patient salespeople. I also had an older bike reconditioned. It was done to perfection. I highly recommend Griffin to anyone interested in either purchasing a bike or having a bike repaired. You won’t be disappointed. By the way, save yourself angst, time and energy, and skip the other retailers. First stop for my family is Griffin. Wish I had done so initially, but better late than never! The only issue is the parking—a small inconvenience in exchange for great customer service.

Bought 2 bikes, one for each kid. Also repaired my wifes bike and they could have charged me for a full tuneup (because I asked for it) but they realized it didnt need it and instead just charged me for replacing one tube. Always pleasant and I definitely feel like they respect their customer when i walk in the door.

I have taken my bikes to Griffin Cycle for over 20 years and they have helped me with multiple specialty projects. This project was the first major overhaul of my 2009 Santa Cruz Nomad. After 10 years of stoke, she needed new bearings on her shocks and entirely new brakes. Griffin’s team ordered the parts, managed the process, repaired my bike, and set me up for the next adventure. Alex went out of his way to help me on an unusual warranty matter. The bike comes from a different shop, but they were closed and I am a one bike rider. Anyway, at 10 minutes before closing he took me in, made his confirmation and got the warranty processed with the vendor in 5 minutes. We went in with two of my old beach cruisers to get a tune-up. We experienced two different gentleman. They were super helpful, pumped tires, and checked everything quickly and then helped me pick out new helmet, bells, and basket. And they advised us what items we could get online instead. During this crazy time, it was a very clean environment and they made us feel very comfortable. Since I’m not a super-cyclist type, it was nice to be able to ask questions without feeling like a ding-dong! They kept an upbeat attitude for sure and were very educational on their items. I explained my price parameters, knee injuries and concerns with buying a bike, and all my questions and considerations were taken into account. Griffins mechanics are expert and thorough, and I have found them to be very scrupulous and honest about their recommendations. (They once fixed a flat by replacing the tube for no charge, because they said it had originally been installed by them improperly, causing the valve stem to crack.) I definitely recommend them.

I have shopped at GC for years. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. For a small shop, they have a fairly good selection. My only real complaint is the parking.

Over the years, Griffin has been our go-to shop for various repairs and updates. Our son is a bike mechanic. While hes never worked at Griffin, he recommends from his roost in Colorado that I take my bikes to Griffin whenever I have a problem, need an accessory or the like.

Im a serious cyclist and am consistently happy with the service at Griffins. While there are bigger and fancier bike shops, Griffins has never let me down. Over the past year Ive had them true two wheels, install new bearings on a Zip 404 hub, upgrade the software to a Di2 system, and tune the gears on a road bike. Each time the work was performed promptly, exactly right, and as always, I was shocked that the repair price was so low.My cycling friends say similar things about Griffins (one guy says theyre the best wheel tuners in Washington). Sometimes theyre backed up with work, but its worth the wait. Theyre good bike people.

Excellent service and turnaround time on a tune-up/full service was as promised, even with the increased demand due to COVID. Bonus: my rear derailleur shift cable snapped on my first outing after the service. Instead of having to drop it off again for a week+, they took me straight to the back, replaced the cable, and I was on my way in 15 minutes! (Would have cost me easily 1/2 a day if I tried to do it myself.)

Decent service if a little overpriced and frankly a bit of know it all bike shop attitude. They’re in the catbird seat now and they know it. Lean times will come again.
