Wonderful to have found a honest, professional, knowledgeable and responsive bike mechanic. I had an older bike sitting around that I thought needed lots of work. I connected with Kevin, he did not see much wrong, he replaced some cables, did a tune up. I much appreciate he did not oversell me on repairs that did not need to be done. He also gave me great advice on my other bike. I will definitely go back to him for advice and repair.

Truly awesome shop and Im so happy I was able to support them as theyre still in their first year of business. I needed my tubeless tires re-mounted ASAP and they very kindly accommodated me. The shop is in a temporary location so of course its a little crowded and not very fancy (right now) but none of that matters honestly. What you want in a bike shop are people who care about you and your ride, and thats 100% the vibe I got. The mechanic and owner were so friendly and happy to give this out-of-towner advice about where to ride.If youre into gravel or cyclocross you also really want to check this place out. The owner rides gravel and the mechanic races cross, so youll be in good company. Its not always so easy to find people who know their stuff when it comes to these types of rides or a shop who carries the gear you need. I was stoked to see they carry the Dynaplug tubeless repair kit that Ive been meaning to be. It was nice to be able to pick one up and support a local bike shop instead of ordering online.Ultimately, this is definitely a local bike shop that you want to support and keep around. I can easily see that they care about their customers and are looking to build lasting relationships.

I have an ebike that the brakes squeezed terribly. I brought it to two other bike shops and had rotors and fluid replaced, cleaned,etc. I then took it to Kevin. He fit me in, did an adjustment and voila; no more squeaks. Kevin is honest and truly knowledgeable and it’s always nice to deal with an owner who really cares.

Kevin is awesome! Super knowledgeable about everything bikes related and super patient with customers, even those who are biking novices. Rebuilt a road bike for my 11-year old son, from a used Trek bike frame, walking us through the process along the way, the bike looks and rides awesome and I have one happy kid who loves loves his bicycle. So happy we have a new LBS with the top notch (and friendly!!!) customer service!

Kevin is awesome. Found the bike I wanted and was very knowledgeable and answered my multiple questions. Bike arrived on time, he put it together and has a one year guarantee plus tube up at a year. He had great suggestions for riding and biking communities as well. Great service!!!

Terrapin Bicycles owner, Kevin is a superb and knowledgeable bike mechanic. I recently bought an electric bike and I needed to ensure that I assembled all correctly. I reached out to Kevin and he gave me a detailed summary about what services he can do. I bought rear rack as well. After inspection and some adjustments, the bike was ready to ride. I appreciate him walking me through the adjustments he made and even described to me how to remove the rear wheel, if need be. Terrapin Bicycles is now my bike shop. And now I have a guy for my ebike.

Terrapin is great for servicing needs! Really good Bethesda location and a managing-owner with a bunch of expertise! Made the process really easy and restored two neglected bicycles to make them ready for the Spring. Highly recommend!
