I have been attempting t to resolve a payment issue with Optimum for the past two weeks. Even though my on-time payment cleared my bank, Optimum claims they haven’t received it and they’ve started sending dunning letters. Their phone support is hopeless. None of their agents are able to rectify the problem. I finally drove over to the Bethpage “customer service” office and was told they don’t handle billing issues (even though their Google page says they do.) So, checkmate. After over 20 years as a customer, I’m seriously thinking about moving over to Fios.
These people are very serious about social distancing, and masks they take your name and text you when you can come in. But they handle everything very efficiently and the wait is not long. Once inside they addressed our issues in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, it didnt take long and we left feeling very satisfied.
I had a cable box which wasnt working. Wont turn on. What a joke to reach someone by phone to resolve this issue. So I went to their store in Bethpage and was extremely surprise and appreciative with their service. When you get there they take some info from you, ask you to wait in your vehicle. Immediately you receive a message which tells you how many people are ahead of you. When your turn comes up you receive another message telling which station will be addressing your issue. Very friendly, very safe environment and didnt have to wait long in my vehicle. Issue resolved very quickly. Very happy.
I have called and chatted around 6 or 7 times to be removed from the paper mailing ad/solicitation list. This seems impossible to do because I dont have an account so each representative and supervisor told me there was nothing they could do. Im at the point where Im about to make an account just so I can stop receiving ad mail!I have used the automated system where it prompts you to leave your number, but Im pretty sure that only works if the number is linked to an account.. which mine is not.
The absolute worst customer service they doubled billed me for months, they just don’t know what they’re doing, they say one thing and don’t follow through, Every month I’ve had to ask for a refund because of double billing. An agent gave me her ID # 82 A thought she took care of the problem but I got double billed again. I tried to reach out to her left my number and never got a return call. I thought this time it would be resolved, I tried again today so we shall see. I don’t recommend using the company.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I waited on hold with optimum for 3 hours and they told me I HAD TO go pick up a router at this location, my account was noted with my name as the pick up person. When I got there they told me I couldn’t and I had to call again and wait on hold for 2 hours with optimum to have them send me the router. Then I wanted to take something OFF my bill and they wouldn’t do that either. BUTTTTT they accepted my $300 payment toward my bill. So they accept money, just not help you.
HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH..THEY DONT CANCEL THEIR RIP OFF SERVICE WHEN YOU TELL THEM AND THEN THEY WANT TO BILL YOU AN EXTRA MONTH. TYPICAL BIG CORPORATION SCREWING EVERY NICKLE THEY CAN GET OUT OF PEOPLE... DONT GIVE THESE THIEVES A PENNY OF YOUR MONEY..
Quick and great service just a little hard to locate
Optimum staffers good and fast. You can easily pay your cable bill, replace or return the cable box items and fix your phone, internet, or/and cable optimum services fast.
If I could give the Corporation -Infinity I will, but a one is all I can give them. the are horrible in everything the provide to the consumer. On thing they do is charge the consumer after the service is terminated!...Another issue I had with them is when they charge me for my spouse account without my consent....Also they promise me a 200 dollars card and latter stated that I was late on my payments....Hello, I had a direct payment...but time will stop them....
Optimum is a horrible company. You are better off cutting the cord and doing all possible to avoid giving you money to these Monopolies. My account was some how stolen and being used to add multiple modems all this according to there own people and yet there was nothing they could do so I asked to speak with a supervisor lmao. They said a 24hr wait period.. 3 weeks later still waiting.
I want to the Plainview Store about a month ago. The wait was very long. Everyone had to wait in the Car. It was to hot to do that. The Store is relativ large and with distancing there would have been room to fit quite a lot of people. I don’t know why that was done. Also they only had 2 People behind the Counter (absolutely crazy).Why is the Hicksville Store closed??? We used to have a Optimum Store in Freeport and Garden City. That was great. We need a Store or 2 Stores in Nassau Country. That would help a lot.
Rude customer service representatives. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!! I was paying for cable and internet and had no service every other week for 8 months. Not to mention when you call for help the representatives are so nasty. When I decided to cancel my service I was transferred to the retaining dept. and the representative could careless and hung up on me.
Not the store just in general. Was signed up for Lifetime monthly price of 160.81, as long as I live at my current residence. After 1 year they raised the price . I called to complain and my promotion was extended another year, and all I had to do was call back and have them re-up the promotion. Well not this time. After 2 and a half hours of texting, not even on the phone, with an agent and then a supervisor nothing was solved. Not defeated yet, still more departments to deal with!

Service has been down for at least 7 hours. Where is the network redundancy that would allow them to restore service quickly? Is this the new normal for Optimum?
Just switched to Verizon, I had 5 boxes in my home an only 2 worked. Technicians gave me no options an basically said there was nothing they can do. I don’t want drilling in my home. Verizon came installed 5 boxes no drilling. Been a customer of optimum for 25 years. Nothing against them personally except maybe have there technicians more aware of customer options

Absolutely horrific customer service. Internet quality is sub standard. Switched to Verizon and noticed an instantaneous improvement in internet speed, range and quality.

Talk to customer service and they all lie about the situation and then transfer you to other departments that do nothing. Haven’t had a worst customer experience in year. Shows you when there’s a monopoly that quality, experience and care for the customer means nothing. Wish I I Fios in my area.

I have never had a better experience at optimum, ever! Not on the phone, not in the store, never!Its really far from my house, like a 30-minute drive. I had to replace a remote.I walked in the door, she took my temperature and asked what I needed. I told her, she told me to drop the remote in a box filled with other remotes, they were apparently prepared for this situation, and another woman handed me a replacement.Thats it! I never even entered the building!It was amazing!
The worst Internet provider Ive ever seen. If I could rate it 0 stars I would. The internet does not work in almost half of my house and all they can say is that such a powerful internet has a very short range. They will not provide an extender (even if I pay for it) and instructed me to buy one in Amazon if I am having difficulties with my internet! Not to mention the time it takes to get someone on the phone or at this store. Horrible customer service.
If you owe a single dollar from this company they will put it on your credit report even pandemic is going on. Worst company. I switched to Verizon and have no problems at all. If you fall behind Verizon will call you and offer payment arrangements but optimum will simply disconnect the services and put the balance on your credit report and then send you offers to switched back to optimum what a shame.
I have charges on my bill that for equipment that I do not have. I can not get any one that is able to remove the charges. I was supposed to get a call back and nothing. This company is terrible
Worse customer service on plant .requested a manager, they refused saying they will say the same thing as me. If you go be prepared as while I was there for 1h45m 8 other people came in with similar service issues and were refused help.

Out on eastern long island this company has a MONOPOLY! they over charge and have the highest rates for some of the worst service I have ever experienced. They have poor customer service and over bill and bill erroneously. If you have a billing problem it is almost impossible if not impossible to get a charge removed. I have been battling since March 01. I sold my house, cancelled my service and returned my equipment only to find a bill for the following 2 weeks of service AFTER all of that and I have yet to be able to remove the charge after literally 8 people and over 10 hours. If you can use another service? DO IT! They claim it is in a billing cycle however, it was AFTER my billing cycle ended. They set up a NEW account to bill me since my account had ended!
After a long standing issue with my Optimum service I finally canceled and switched to Verizon. I was advised by Optimum’s Customer Service numerous times to physically go to a store to speak with a manager regarding my issues with my equipment and file a complaint. I was advised a manager in the store can then escalate an issue on my behalf to corporate.I took a day off of work to drive 30 minutes to this location. I waited another 30 minutes in my car in order to be seen! (Understandably due to COVID restrictions and such). When my turn came up, I was directed to STATION 4 - JOHN W.I informed him I was returning my equipment and also needed to speak with a manager. He quickly told me there was no manager available and any “customer service complaints” couldn’t be handled in the retail store. I attempted to explain myself and he rudely dismissed my concerns. He was extremely arrogant and lacked any sort of customer service skills. Not once did he ask me what the issue was about or attempt to assist me.I then asked the young woman at the door who was checking customers in if I can speak to a manager and she proceeded to tell me there was no manager on site and that no one could help me with my concerns. I returned my equipment and left! The lack of customer service by JOHN W was absolutely appalling! And the fact that not a single representative in this location provided me with a name or phone number of someone to call to speak to regarding my concerns is a prime example of why I have canceled my service with Optimum!!!

Please do not use altice/optimum as your service. I spent an hour on the phone with the sales department over a month ago and was able to get a more reasonable rate. I got my bill a month later with no reflection of this hour long conversation and promised lowered price. I called back and asked for them to pull up the recorded conversation, this alone took 40 minutes to request. I was informed my request was being escalated and someone would get back to me In 24 to 48 hours and that i could listen to the hour long conversation also. Noone called me back. That was 1.5 weeks ago. I called again and they told me a supervisor would call me back the same day in 1 to 2 hours. No call back. I am applaud by this company and the lack of customer service. DO NOT USE THEM GO TO VERIZON.
Do yourself a favor and just get VERIZON FIOS. Don’t waste your time like i did by trying optimum. The internet service is night and day. Pay the extra money and get way better service and zero headaches and frustration.Just a terrible experience all together.The 2 star rating speaks for itself...🤦🏻♂️
Went early a.m. COVID safety protocols were followed. Temp was taken. Staff very polite. Much shorter wait than 2 years ago.

How to wait to get in I get my Optimum box so I go home it doesnt work I have to go back the next day which is a 2 days later because I went on a Saturday I had to wait till Monday about 11. A new box and now Im still having problems with that box so now I have to wait till after New Years to go back with it these people do not know what theyre doing there and then when you call they still dont know what theyre doing on the phone either

Im looking into other providers. Optimum is horrible. This is the second time we have scheduled an appointment and they dont show up and make some bs claim that we rescheduled the appointment. Even though we were home and took time off to be here for the appointment. Customer service has you on hold for over an hour. Spoke to 5 different people and a manager called and was no help what so ever. They have no sense of urgency for their mistakes.They are unreliable and dont respect peoples time. So well be leaving as soon as we figure out which provider we want. They take no responsibility for their bs.

After being a costumer for 22 years the service went from bad to horrible, extremely overpriced, came to my house to pick up the equipment and tried to charge me 1600 dollars for a Internet router worth 150 bucks witch they had picked up from my home, promised to lower my bill from $290 to $100 removed all tv channels, picked up equipment and next bill was over $300. horrible company, bad reviews, bad store service over 40 minutes to exchange a bad cable box.Wouldnt recommend it.

Take your cell.They assign tickets, and u know when your turn is on your cell. the wait time is much less, had 14 folks ahead of me, mine came in 5 mins. Polite folks but as usual wear a mask.

I can confirm they are registering you at the door and making you wait in the car. My wait time was 30 minutes and I was texted to come inside at about 28 minutes. Once inside, John at station 5 helped me out and gave me their offer for Apple TV.
My visit to the optimum center was fine. The young lady who helped us was perfect.The problem is with their actual service. We have been having difficulty at our business for weeks with upload speed and they cant seem to fix the problem. Interestingly enough I also had the same problems at my mothers house and my home.Since Altice took over their prices have gone up significantly and there system performance is getting worse and worse. If Verizon FiOS is available switch over. Things are probably only going to get worse
After not having TV, Internet or phone service for over a week, when I brought my defective router in for a new one I was instructed to wait in a beautiful sun-drenched asphalt parking lot (in 90°heat) for 2 hours.Having sought out shade across the street, I was 2 minutes late past the time they texted me & was told my name was put back into the waiting line!There were only 2 people servicing customers inside and a fairly large group of people seeking service outside, many of whom left out of frustration.We pay quite a lot for this (bad) service and enough is enough. Verizon is looking to be a better alternative right about now.

Despite many negative reviews here I would like to say this place has courteous and well organized service. I waited for about 30 mins. Yes, that is little long, but they have electronic queue. You register for it, wait in your car and get updated on your position by text messages. People were not happy waiting. That is expected, but the gentleman outside was patient with everybody explaining how to use the queue service. He provided an estimated wait time, which was in fact shorter. Try to look at the situation at a different angle - everybody is affected by covid and these guys established a safe service. The ladies inside provide a courteous service too even though I came to stop my service.

They will only handle equipment. Wait is 45 min to 1.5 hours in Bethpage today 10/17/20 @ 2 pm. Will give you a label to go to FedEx. Do not handle any billing or credit due issues. But then neither does customer service on the phone when multiple calls are made taking an hour plus each time with promise to call back that go unfulfilled! Horrendous customer service!
One of the better walk in centers on Long Island. Fast, clean looking and new design.Check in process is a lot better then waiting on line. The text system shows your place in line which makes it easier if you have to run out somewhere within a couple of minutes.

Due to a problem of lost channels, after 6 days of phone calls to the 5 customer support telephne numbers, we had to resort to going here to find a human to speak with who did resolve the issue.Be aware that when you do go here, a rep will take your name & phone number, place you on a digital waiting list and ask you to wait anywhere outside the building for a confirming text message. They are only permitting one person at a time for each open Optimum window. After 30 min., there was still 10 people ahead of us. Moral: come prepared to wait quite a while.
Fast friendly service
Me and another person were standing outside waiting to check in when it started raining heavily. We were getting soaked while the customer service rep was speaking to another woman in the doorway, nice and dry. I mentioned the rain and he told me I can go get an umbrella. Totally rude and nasty. Glad I canceled my Optimum service.
I detest this company. Horrific service. Horrific customer service and faulty equipment. They say they will fix it. They say they will call you back. Then they say they have to send someone. Really? If someone has to come here to fix my internet, it’s going to be Verizon Fios. I have had it with optimum altice. Bah. Humbug.

Their customer service is as bad as their internet. Had to wait for more than 2 hours just to return the routers. Thank god, i moved to verizon fios. Their online customer service is terrible too. They are still dragging their 80’s cables and putting it to work. Come on Optimum alias altice alias cableVision, you have to upgrade your cables to optical fibre network... your cables are outdated and not reliable.

Ok well first things first first time ever been there to the new place in bethpage first went into the altis area luckily there was some guy leaving the building and he led us to the right place I think the fellas name was Dave he helped us inside at station 2 and it went very well he answered my questions about packages and new speeds and just to remind anybody who is going there for the first time you have to go in and check in then go back to your car and theyll call you or theyll text you
Switch and bate company. What they say is your bill and total charge is not what the actual bill is. Its 3* what they say and is advertised online

Tried to get someone there to help with the new phones we purchased..the calls keep dropping and lose service near each other..people cant hear us and while on speaker the volume is real low and all they keep telling us is use the chat...we have tried the chat and they keep switching over to different people and making us wait hours or dont come back to the chat....so my visit sucked and I dont like the rude persons at the door at alltice...no help whatsoever...
Cablevision and this location horrible, customer service non exsistant, cant, wait to get rid of cable, cut the chord, 200 a month for what, rather watch Netflix, hulu, disney etc.

We have been without any service for over 7 days. Not storm related, it happened before. We have been hung up on repeatedly. We were given an appointment date for the technician to come out. When that didn’t happen I called to see why, they said he was there, just outside that’s why I didn’t know he was there. I stated that I too was outside during the appointment time and didn’t see anyone. Oh,,,, actually I don’t see that you even had an appointment. The worst customer service around. Every time I asked for a representative located In the United States, I was hung up on. Can someone please just let me know when I might have my service back?!?! So wish we could get FiOS in Brookhaven!

Staff was friendly however, lines were very long. No way of turning in equipment for canceled services other than driving down and spending over an hour waiting in line.Constant price hikes on services that are getting less and less use drove me to drop TV and phone services. Dont miss either however, having to stand in line for over an hour just felt like the final insult from a company I have been a loyal customer of for over 20 years.Looking forward to more competition in the home internet space.
Staff was great, but the first time I went, over an hour wait, second time 40 Minutes wait time, when you consider the customer base optimum has in our area & the revenue created, to have only 3 people available to help you (the rest are pushing phones & other products), is insulting, my local pizzeria has more help, obviously it must be some reaction to all the cord cutters, but to a customer with over 25 years loyalty this is a poor business choice,, for a brand I had considered premium

Issue with internet service, went to store to avoid technician in the house during pandemic, was told by the guy who thought he was a bouncer at a bar that they dont exchange boxes at this location. Hauppauge was extremely friendly and accommodating, theres a reason there were only 2 cars in the lot here and a 45 min wait in Hauppauge. Optimum what are you doing?
