This is a nice local place to get great coffee, delicious sandwiches and the yummy Stick Boy pastries and breads! We decided to give this place a try for breakfast during our weekend of moving our daughter into Appalachian State University. My wife and I shared the avocado toast and breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and fresh. We also tried their Warm Hug and Jade Smoothie. Both were excellent except I wish the coffee was hotter but I like it piping hot!The location is slightly off the beaten path but Google and Apple Maps will get you there with no issues. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor tables available for eating there. The food, coffee and staff are excellent so dont hesitate to stop by and give them a try.

Hatchet was crowded! At least for 2021, but it was Halloween and chilly. Still, the line moved quickly and I was out in 5 min. The coffee was rich and hot and fresh, and it was cheaper than I expected. Very pleased with my experience!

Really great coffee! Lovely interior and staffs. They sell cute merch, freshly roasted coffee beans, and film rolls in a fridge! My photographer husband happened to needing a 35mm roll and that just made his day :)

Food and coffee good. But the several times I was there.....the line was ridiculous!! Only 1 cash and run seemingly by college students who are less than organized to get customers thru the line!.

The best avocado toast I’ve ever had. It’s fresh made, thick sliced bread. Thick topping of avocado on some type of hot sauce underneath with salt on top. I STILL talk about this toast often it was that good

They never sacrifice quality and all of their selections are delicious.The Ardi is my absolute favorite and Im so glad to see it back. My home isnt complete without a bag of coffee from Hatchet in my kitchen!

Yeah. Pumpkin latte season is back...(also pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!). I far prefer my local coffee roasters (Hachet and Local Lion) over Starbucks, but thats me.Love fall season, which brings Hachet Coffee Porter back on tap again at Booneshine Brewery!

The best pumpkin latte & scone I’ve ever had! That maple whipped cream on top of the latte was freaking amazing. We also ordered some of it on the side to go with our scone 👌🏻 We tried the hazelnut latte as well, which definitely did not disappoint. We went here twice today when we stopped in Boone. The vibe is nice, filled with college kids working and business meetings. All the workers were super friendly and chill. Can’t wait to stop in here again when I’m in town!

Coffee was pretty good. It was incredibly hot inside waiting for our coffee so trying to force people to wear masks despite medical conditions, lifted restrictions & vaccinations was a little crazy. My husband did NOT walk in with a mask nor does he wear one due to medical conditions. He walked in without it on, ordered without it on, paid without it on, picked up his coffee without it on, at that point someone tried to force him to wear one.

Only reason for two stars is that place has good coffee and food. However, the mask policy is contrary to the CDC and NC DOH. I am vaccinated to help ensure the safety of my fellow citizens. I would gladly show my vaccination card which I carry. To force your doctrine on the public is reprehensible. You have every right to do so. However I have the right to cease frequenting your establishment now and in the future. Basically, this mandate will stay in effect until we reach herd immunity. If not reached, the mandate being removed would be hypocrtical at the least.

When I came through Blowing Rock and Boone most recently, I just wanted a good espresso. Blowing Rocks premier haunt was okay, but not quite doing it; my favorite place by App State was under construction. On my way out of town, I found Hatchet—and my problem was solved.I didnt have much time to appreciate the outdoorsy angle of Hatchet—as I understand it, they roast beans and market to hikers, campers, and/or climbers in some fashion—so I can only provide a one-dimensional insight into what I sensed was a multifaceted organization.But their espresso: hoo, boy.Wonderful. Rich, complex, subtle: delicious. A perfect end to my multi-day search.On top of that, the environment in the store is wonderful, with a unique layout and friendly staff. Worth going out of your way to find it.

Honestly Hatchet has become one of my top coffee shops to visit in the High Country. Growing up in Boone there weren’t a lot of options when it came to coffee shops, and Hatchet has changed that. Their seasonal drinks are amazing, as well as there normal pour overs and cold brew. Give them a visit if you haven’t, and support a fantastic local coffee shop.

The quality of roasting that is done really pulls the flavor out for my morning, 2nd morning, 3rd morning, midday, and afternoon coffee. They really are on point with their technique and I have become a subscriber. The roasted beans are fresh even when shipped to you. I can measure this with the amount of gases that are released during the vacuum brewing process. (You do not see that as often when having beans shipped to you.)In addition to the outstanding roasting, the employees are really caring and ensure that they are getting customer service right. I am glad I found them.

Not sure how they roast their coffee but it is hands-down my favorite whole bean coffee. I always buy a few pounds when I am in Blowing Rock to take home. The Blue Ridge Blend is amazing. Not overly roasted and lots of flavor.

I love matcha, but I found that few local coffee shops sell it. I used to go to Starbucks when I had a matcha craving, but I prefer to support local. So I was really happy to discover Hatchet’s matcha latte! It is delicious, not too overly sweet, and is garnished with candied ginger. I get it with avocado toast if I want a full breakfast. The flavors that they use in their food and drinks are delicious and unique. And they are being very safe with handling the virus. Highly recommend Hatchet!

Great little Coffee shop well worth the visit.I dont have too much to say since the inside isnt opened to the public but they are doing a wonderful job keeping people comfortable while they wait outside. They have heating lamps outside for you to stand by while they quickly make your order.I ordered a mocha nitro because my friend described it as chocolate milk but coffee and she wasnt wrong. I had a slight coffee taste but this mocha nitro was pure deliciousness.Ill definitely be going back to hatchet on my next visit to Boone.

Covid has changed a lot of things for everyone, so sometimes a great cup of coffee is desperately needed to get through the day. They’ve set up everything to be as accommodating to everyone as possible, while following guidelines suggested by the CDC. Also, they’re coffee is amazing. I wish I would’ve been able to spend sometime in the cafe which looks super cute and cozy, but perhaps next year when there isn’t a pandemic going on. I do wish they had a larger variety of darker roasts, but their Blue Ridge Parkway roast is my go to for now 😊

Coffee was fine, wasnt exceptional. Ordered ahead online and had to then wait in line to let them know I had arrived before they began to make my order. Those who ordered in person received their drinks much faster, so the order ahead option seemed kind of pointless.

The 16oz lattes have 3 shots of Espresso! Thats why I am writing this review at 1AM and using excessive exclamation points!Outstanding COVID buying experience. Probably the best Ive ever seen. When you arrive, theres a very clear line to a purchase window. You can look at their menu while in line and maintaining distance. Theres a tent cover in case its raining, like it was today. Theres a separate pickup window.This is literally the safest coffee buying experience Ive ever had.The coffee was excellent too. I dont know much about the company, but I do know they roast on-site, and they have a variety of craft coffee drinks as well.

They accidentally forgot about my order but went above and beyond with their customer service to make the situation right and were super apologetic. Wow - open a branch up in Charleston. Alright, I’m not a super coffee freak. Wouldn’t call myself an old*ss or a 2021 hipster.... but the “Oatmilk Mocha w/caramel” is like a a combination of a milky way and oatmeal cookie. Just try it.Oh, I’ve been there three days in a row during our trip, the staff has always been sincere and kind. More than a robot taking an order, and not awkwardly friendly.

Such a great business! The coffee is great, covid precautions are good, and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy. The avocado toast isn’t your regular one, and I argue that it’s much better that way. The view is also beautiful.

I found this lovely place on a trip to the mountains in the fall of 2018. I have had coffee all over the world and nothing tops their Blue Ridge Roast. In fact, this is now the only coffee I brew in my house. If you get a chance stop by and order a warm hug when it is on the menu. I highly recommend!

Great coffee! We rushed in a few minutes before closing (we had a long drive ahead of us and really wanted good coffee). The staff was friendly and the coffee was fantastic! Will definitely return when back in Boone. We felt truly sorry for arriving so close to closing and appreciated the nonjudgmental staff!

Hatchet Coffee is a must-do for me every time I’m in Boone, NC. The food is really good, the environment they provide is open, clean, visibly pleasing, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The Drops of Juniper is a must have, and the Avocado Toast is a great treat with a hint of spice. Seriously, a must-do for coffee lovers.

Hatchet Coffee shop is our favorite Saturday breakfast spot. Fantastic coffee and Bettys Biscuits food truck is in the parking lot making it a complete experience. Love going there on a hot afternoon for their cold coffee brew. Worth checking out off Bamboo Road in the outskirts of Boone.

Bought a couple different whole bean coffees from Hatchet. Some of the best coffee I have ever drank. The beans from Peru were unbelievably the best tasting coffee I have ever drank. Prices are relatively inexpensive. Will definitely subscribe to have coffee shipped to my home so I dont run out. I would definitely recommend Hatchet Coffee for those who love a superior cup of joe.

The coffee was good, but I’m sorry I don’t get all the hype. I want to support the local places, I do! I just didn’t get why the line was out the door. The coffee was good, but I wish there was food or bakery items for sale to make a complete package. We did see a menu for some breakfast items, but it was on a little 4x6 card and no where near the register. If we are back in Boone, we will try the place again. I just wish the lines were shorter.

We enjoy their roasted coffee and the staff is very pleasant. Ordering specialty coffees was made difficult as the menu is only printed by the counter and no descriptions were given. We didnt want to hold up the line to have them all explained; so in the end I feel that I ordered something being rushed rather than what I wouldve enjoyed. Recommend to have a hung menu behind counter with descriptions of seasonal specialties.

There seasonal specials are always innovative and unique. They also have the cutest merchandise to purchase as a souvenir. Phenomenal location, great atmosphere, great coffee, had to resist buying every T-shirt, mug, and sticker they had. Great branding job and the coffee bags actually have beautiful artwork unlike some more minimalist style brands. I appreciated everything about this place and I’m so glad I stopped in!

Visited this coffee joint after enjoying their coffee with breakfast at a local place. I would say the strength of this place is their coffee. I normally enjoy my hot coffee black and will delve into iced coffees from time to time or if the coffee is lacking in quality. Their Blue Ridge Blend dark roast coffee is absolutely delightful and I had to buy a bag to take home. The other drinks they offered, my wife got a pumpkin spice latte and I got a pumpkin nitro cold brew, were not as enjoyable. If these types of drinks are your staples they are very well made but I felt they were overly sweet and lacking in the pumpkin flavor we were looking. Worth a visit if you enjoy well made coffee or specialty drinks.

Hatchets physical location offers a unique and intimate experience. Die-hard coffee lovers will adore being able to talk with and view coffee beans being roasted in the same space that you enjoy your delicious cup of brew. Personally crafted cups of pour over make the Hatchet experience one-of-a-kind. The owners Jeremy and Jeremy are always so friendly and ready to make recommendations. I buy my beans from one of the High Countrys best roasters and one of the only roasters of medium roasts in the area. Definitely worth the stop in!
