Moonshine and I visit Higher grounds at least once a week. They have great coffees by the cup or in bean form. They also have a large variety of sweets, like ice cream and brownies.While there one can shop from french presses to coffee themed home decor, mugs, signs.... Just a groovy lil shop.

Stopped in here with some girl friends and loved it! The coffee was great! If you like your coffee plain, there are a lot of options and roasts to chose from. If you like flavored drinks, there are a lot of creations like the Salty Caramel Thing or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The barista was also very sweet and helped us decide what to get and gave great suggestions!

A convenient location in the new market center. Yet another plus, they offer a customer loyalty rewards lunch card for a free beverages after the purchase of ten beverages. If youre going to buy coffee and/or smoothies anyway, then it doesnt hurt to save some.money and get some free ones.

Dont get their frappes or smoothies unless you enjoy chewing on ice because they under blend them and leave them full of ice chunks (has happened to me every time). But every thing else is amazing and its my favorite coffee shop in town :)

Great coffee - I got the almond milk latte with various sugar-free syrups - really yummy way to start the day! So much better than hotel coffee from Days Inn. 🙂

The coffee is excellent and the staff is very friendly. You can buy your coffee in one if several forms and drink it there or you can buy bulk coffee in several combination of flavors and grind it there or take it home and grind it as you use it(my case). Prices are moderate and seating is -due to COVID regs- not allowing for many. The ...and part (as in coffee and...) is not too varied. Parking is ample, the shop is a little hidden in a strip shopping center, but worth the trip.

Only coffee shop I love and Ive been to many. Most times i enjoy my homemade percolator coffee vs. coffee shops. Higher Grounds is the best coffee shop Ive ever been to. Awful customer service and experience with this coffee shop. My family and I are on vacation in Boone, NC. I googled a coffee shop and was directed to Higher Grounds coffee. Their website said they closed at 8:30 on tuesdays. My family and I drove 25 min to the shop and we arrived at 6:40.I was told by ladies standing outside that they were closed. They closed at 6:30 and never bothered to update their website. I knocked because I saw an employee- she ignored me. I called and spoke to her and she said she couldn’t make an exception and serve us. I let her know we drove almost a half hour out of our way because their website said they would be open. She didn’t care. I sent the shop a message on Facebook and they blocked me. Such a terrible experience and such poor customer service. They didn’t even try to make it right. They simply did not care.

House blend was really good, and Ive had the Sulawesi also and its excellent. The shop has taken all the measures necessary; markings on the floor for social distancing, plexi glass to protect employees and customers. Well done!

Just passing through town and desperately in need of a pick-me-up, I caught them right at closing. They were happy to whip up a delicious brève for me and I was on my way! The barista who helped me was very nice too.Bonus points, everything else in town was already closed!

Higher Grounds is a great place to kick back and enjoy a nice hot or cold cup of coffee with friends. The staff has always been a pleasure to speak with and have always provided great service. If your order gets messed up, don’t worry, politely let them know and they will be sure to fix it. I’m not sure if they have coconut milk but they DO have almond milk if you’re wanting something other than regular cows milk. Great place and always a friendly face.

When were traveling we are always on the lookout for good coffee in the morning to replace our hotel fix. Found it here at Higher Grounds this morning! A raspberry truffle mocha and a chai latte- both done just right- were exactly what we needed! Lots of good little snacks and gifts too! Thank you for helping kickstart our day!

Higher Grounds Coffee Shop is a great coffee shop. 1. They make reasonably good coffee and have tons of blends you can sample. 2. They do a great job on their main staple drinks (Vanilla Latte, Cappuccino, Americanos, Pour Over Coffee). If you can do a great job on the fundamentals, I dont really care about the froo-froo drinks. 3. They have a family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of places to lounge. 4. Theyre off the beaten path, which makes Higher Grounds a cozy and private place.

So far this is my favorite coffee shop that I have been to and I love to visit local coffee shops as I travel. They have the best espresso that I’ve had. Always consistent and very polite employees. Also make a stop here when I’m in town

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly great coffee. The menu has a wide variety of drinks, and the staff was knowledgeable on them all. They also have a good selection of freshly roasted coffee available.

Best place to get coffee in Boone. About 5-7 min from campus is not too bad. Coffee is always strong and delicious. I love that everybody who works or has worked here is very particular about how they make drinks. The owners are very nice and she always welcomes everybody with a smile. Absolutely love it.

Barista was friendly and helpful at explaining the coffee selection. Pricing is reasonable and the coffee was delicious! The atmosphere is calm and has a homey vibe. Also they have a wide selection of coffee beans that you can ground up and take home to enjoy!

I love them! Theyre the best coffee shop in Boone, it has the reward on the wall that says so! The older lady is so nice and always complements me in the nicest way! But! The younger lady with the short short hair doesnt care about your requests of an Order and is kinda rude at times, she doesnt make your drinks in the order that theyre supposed to be made in. So make sure you taste your drink before leaving if you get your drink from her.

Bit of a coffee snob (so I dont leave bad reviews if its made well but not my preference). However, this place did excellent with my latte and espresso. The espresso is smooth. The latte had the velvet milk texture and some foam on top. Perfect! Though I do recommend it, the cinnabun flavored latte is great. However, you do some of that bitter cinnamon after taste.

I love stopping for coffee here! the baristas are so nice, and have suggested some of the best coffee I have ever had. The prices are super reasonable and the blueberry cheesecake ice cream is really really good.

My husband and I were visiting Boone last year from Charlotte, NC and was looking for a place for a quick breakfast. We found Higher Ground on Google and saw the raving reviews and decided we had to check it out. Well...it was quite possibly the best coffee we have ever had. Its been over a year now and I still think about it all the time and wish that I could have another cup more accessibly.

This is a coffee shop. I asked for a large coffee, with a shot of expresso, and heavy cream. Not regular cream, but heavy cream. Starbucks has it. But I was told this place does not stock heavy cream. Its a coffee shop. Why do they not stock heavy cream?

I used to frequent this shop often! Unfortunately I dont go to that side of town much anymore, but when I do stop in some of the staff still remember my order which really impresses me. Removed a star because I wish the atmosphere was a little more relaxed.

Probably the best London Fog Ive ever had. Staff was friendly, the cafe has a very mellow mom and pop feel. Lots of different options on the menu. Oh, and theyve got some FANTASTIC coffee cake.

The lady who was working when we came was very friendly and helpful. When we go to Boone, we always make a stop here. I recommend the Heath Mocha Frappe if you are looking for something refreshing and sweet, with a hint of caramel and coffee.

Very disappointed in my experience with this location today. (I honestly dont think Ive ever left a bad review online, but I really just couldnt get past this...) The barista truly was rude during my entire interaction. I really didnt like my drink, but decided to just deal with it... Upon getting into my car, I decided that I would want to make things right for a customer if roles were reversed - so I took the drink back inside and asked if there was anyway to just get a standard iced latte instead... (I explained my situation, VERY KINDLY) The barista did honor my request, but was still very rude about it. Im no coffee expert, but I have had far more good coffee than most, and can honestly say its the worst coffee Ive had in a VERY long time. My wife actually threw her latte away a few miles down the road because of the horrible taste. Super bitter, and weak - all at the same time. Methods of making espresso are something Ive never seen, with using brewed shots that have been sitting for quite some time. I hate to say it, but if were ever in town we will never be stopping back in.

Very bad coffee. My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday morning. He got a latte, which he said wasnt great. I got drip, which was basically very weak and seemed watered down. One of the daily coffees was out, the other was weak. I got a refill and tried the dark roast; it was also weak, like it was half coffee/half water. The drip coffee was self-serve, which I have never seen before, at good or bad coffee shops. And the place was a mess; coffee grounds all over the counter behind the bar around the espresso machine. I wish we had gone to Starbucks, or just skipped it.

After reading all of the other reviews of there being great coffee here, Im not sure if it was a just a single incident or maybe the individual barista I had. I ordered a Macchiato and received one of the most bitter, overextracted and tasteless espresso i have probably ever had. I could barely drink one sip.It wasnt a surprise though, I watched the barista pull about 6oz of espresso from a single puck for 2 separate drinks. It was just laziness.The setting of the place is pretty rustic and I could see it being a quiet place to hang out and study.

The gentleman working on Saturday morning around 8:30 was very friendly and made me a delicious Strawberry smoothie. I environment seemed comfortable and welcoming.

Been hiking all week and needed to charge my cell phone, computer, table etc. Stopped in here a little grungy looking and was met with a warm smile, awesome service and an extra cord for charging. Talk about the extra mile. The salted carmel mocha was excellent and service was amazing.

I love Higher Grounds im a local and a big coffee fan and always love there coffee they also have great options for those who are not big fans of coffee.My bestie cant stand coffee so she always orders ether a milkshake or smoothie and always loves them my coffee recommendation is the malted mocha frappe. I will definitely continue to us HG(Higher Grounds) in the future .
