We recently moved from Tujunga to upstate New York and worked with Merit Moving Systems. The whole process went super smoothly and we couldnt be happier.I want to call out Brandy specifically, who was our Move Coordinator. She kept us up-to-date throughout the process and promptly refunded us when it turned out we needed less containers than originally estimated. She was always available to answer any questions, kind, and a pleasure to work with from beginning to end.Also the loading and unloading crews did a fantastic job; they were courteous, on-time, and followed COVID protocols. They also had great senses of humor which was appreciated in a stressful time. They handled all my belongings with care and everything arrived in great condition.These are reputable movers and I highly recommend this company. Thank you for the great service!

I worked with Brandy W. as the coordinator on my cross-country move via United Van Lines. Brandy was fantastic, she was able to provide me with updates and relay my concerns to the contractor movers. Throughout the whole move process, I only had one contact at Merit, which was very impressive given how many people are moving to and from Los Angeles. I would thoroughly recommend Merit - and by extension United Van Lines - to anybody with a big move. Their business is honest and can be relied upon.

We had to use Merit Moving for our cross country relocation to California. The office staff was polite, accommodating and usually timely with responses in the earlier phases of the move. The actual move crews were extremely disappointing on both ends. The packers shoved things in places they didn’t belong, wrapped things like tiny diamond stud earrings in gigantic 3 foot pieces of crumpled papers so they easily were thrown away not knowing it was something fragile.We had to label our items to be delivered to our temporary (corporate housing) location or to our final destination. Upon arrival at our temporary destination where our family of 5 would be living for 3 months, we found that many of our items that we needed and labeled for temporary housing did not arrive. They told us they’d arrive at the final destination instead. Our new, expensive large Yeti coolers were some of those items and they did not arrive at our final destination either. I filled out a claim form and was told that since I didn’t note them as missing on the day of delivery, they could not be replaced or reimbursed. These items might not have been marked as they were large basement items. We had to check off boxes for little inventory stickers the entire delivery day. So be prepared if you have small children because if you miss checking some boxes or items that they bring into the house, they’ll tell you to put an X on it because “they already brought them in”, and you’ll be left responsible when they aren’t actually received.When I was told they would not replace them, that was the final straw for us. I wrote an honest review online to warn others of our experience. I received a call from Shellie telling me that she would split the cost of the replacements with our relocation company… seemed fair, and we were so grateful. But then she said “we will do this but we ask that you delete your review online”. That’s not how reviews work- you don’t pay someone to delete a review- you should be working in an honest ethical way and earning the positive reviews. You own up to your reviews and take the good with the bad and improve when you get negative feedback. So, knowing that this is their practice, please take all the 5 star reviews that you see listed with a grain of salt. That just means that the others who had bad experiences were likely paid to delete their review.Several expensive items were damaged including a leather sofa..when I showed them the broken part they forcefully pushed ALL of the sofa headrests back and forth (even though I said please don’t) & ended up breaking 2 more of the headrests. This crew is so far from first class w/how they handle a family’s valuable goods.A very sentimental glass item that was a gift was broken in the move and they refused to replace it because we didn’t claim it on the day of delivery… but they had buried it in piles in our garage and we were NOT going to dig through the garage for quite a while, so we missed our opportunity. It was like they intentionally hid it.After all of these various findings and refusals to reimburse, we knew we would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Then, recently I was playing with my daughter on the floor of our dining room and I noticed a big crack line along our huge heavy china cabinet. Only because I was sitting close to it on the floor did I notice it and take a much closer look. It was a significant piece of the side that had been broken off and GLUED back onto the side of our furniture to make it appear intact. We couldn’t believe it!! So now not only had they broken something else but they had attempted to cover it up and not tell us. Of course I didn’t notice because they had deceived us and made it look intact. I would never want to see anyone have to experience such poor unethical service when it comes to their family’s treasured items. That Ethan Allen set should have been handed down to our daughter some day. We are just so upset about allof it and will definitely not recommend nor will we use them when we move back to the east coast.

We had a very positive experience with Merit Moving Systems/United Van lines for our cross country move from CA to NJ. This was especially highlighted after an exceptionally horrific experience with International Van Lines one year prior (do NOT use them!). Initial communication was easy, and after a detailed virtual walk through of our home in CA they were able to provide us an accurate cost estimate and clearly laid out details/expectations regarding the moving process (delivery time period, how items would be transported, etc). Pick up went smoothly without hiccups (we had admittedly pre-packed all items due to our prior poor experience with another group, so cannot comment on their full service option). Items were transported over approximately a 3 week time period and delivered on our expected day during the expected time window. We received updates prior to delivery to confirm dates/times. Unloading was efficient and organized, with all items accounted for. Thus far in our unpacking we have not found any broken or damaged items. The cost was a bit more than other companies, but given that there were zero issues, we felt it was worth it. We would absolutely use them again for another move.

Planned on moving from California to Arizona. They front end of the business was very nice but told me that I had plenty of room for extras.Moving day they said that I had a few extra items that were not in the list. Told me that they have to charge me 10$ per cubic foot. Which was an additional $1000. No body told me about the extra charge if I went over by a few ft. I spoke to multiple people not one person mentioned the additional charge. Now I have to pay double since it wasn’t in the list won’t be referring them to anyone. I was completely taken as any of when they told you can leave the additional items behind. Unacceptable. Please reconsider when using this company.

Merit Moving Systems Buena Park was simply a life saver. My wife and I made a big move from PA to CA and they made the entire process seamless and stress free. This was our first time moving and everything and everyone we interreacted with from packers to loaders to drivers and coordinators were amazing. Our coordinator, Shellie, was a pleasure to deal with. She was able to arrange a quick move on a tight schedule around the holidays. She responded to our emails and questions in a matter of just a few minutes. Overall this was a great experience and we thank Merit for their professionalism and quality work.

I got a new job and the company hired Merit to help me with moving across the country (CT to CA). The movers were very kind and professional when they packed up my stuff and when they moved it all into my new place. There was a bit of miscommunication on time but it wasnt a big deal and its understandable considering the logistics of a big move. When I received my stuff, one of the handles on my dresser was damaged in the move. I wasnt going to make it a big deal, but one of the movers helped me fix it, and now you can barely tell. I really appreciate their efforts to do the best job that they could.

We had been relocated for my husbands job. Our movers showed up on time They were professional, organized and they kept us informed the whole time. They also were very fast! We highly recommend them and will be using them again if the need arises!

I hired Merit to move my family 600 mi and the service that they provided was essential in making that happen on time and for a very affordable rate. The driver and people he had helping pack the truck and our items were very friendly and helpful. This was the easiest move that Ive ever done and definitely worth every penny. If I ever have to move again I will be giving them a call.

I have moved several times being prior military, so I have had several moving companies move my household goods. By far, Merit Moving systems has been the best. They came in and packed us up on Oct 13th 2020. They had 3 guys that showed up at 7:30 AM and had our whole house packed (I had them do our packing) and were done by 2:30 pm. The next day the moving truck showed up at 8:00 am. It was two guys and they had everything loaded by 2:00 pm. My stuff was delivered 9 days later and well within their time frame (moved from California to Alabama). They arrived at 8:00 am and had everything unloaded by 11:30 am. Everyone was professional and very friendly. One of the biggest helps was being able to pay when my stuff was dropped off, due to us using the money from the sell of our house to help pay for the move. Also, their cost came in less then what I was expecting it to be for the total moving package. I would highly recommend them and I will definitely be using them in the future if we move again.

This company is FANTASTIC! Arrived to pick up everything the day they said they would. Came with 5 guys who blanket wrapped everything and loaded the truck while I simply watched. Best moving company. Merit packed up our home stored our furniture etc for 3 months .They also broke some belongings to our apartment we returned while our home was being built.. We it came time to move into out home Merit brought all our belongings to our new home and everything was perfect the guys were amazing and professional and nothing got broken.

Apparently there is another Merit Moving company out of Florida that is capitalizing of their name and tainting their reputation. So I applaud them for having a service to help victims of scams. Bravo to the real Merit Moving company! 👏👏👏As to the other one dont get fooled by then like I was.This is what they do:(We were in route to our new city as state. We had been emailing and texting their representative for a while. We had gave him dimensions of two storage units one semi full and the other not so full. We even sent him pictures. He asked what we had I there I told him everything from a one bed room apartment. So he mentioned somethings and I said a few more that were supposed to be written for insurance purposes.When they sent me the form for me to sign like I said I was in route to my new place. They worded things so it seemed that it was for everything as we verbally told the rep. He quoted us $2144. He said that by law he had to collect 10% down even tho he was asking for more than half down. I wanted to pay it all since he was asking for half, he said he could not. He told me somethings that I forgot and when we tried to reach him he would not reply even sent a text that there was no such person and that it was a wrong number. I should have known by then I was ripped off! Its all how they word it that had me thinking it was for all my belongings not just the few key things we talked about. I knew I should had gone with the other one, they were more honest and their price was $4,100 something. I thought I was getting the deal instead I lost a little over a thousand dollars. I will never recommend this company and will be posting this on my FB so all my friends know about this as well.)
