Everything went smoothly for selling my car. It was quick and to the point and only took a couple of hours to complete. They gave me a value for my car which was a little over my expectation and cut me a check the same day. Highly recommend.

This is my second time buying a car at Carmax. I shopped around other places as well, but once again the best deal I found was here. Doing part of the process online is a big help and cuts time. Jenny even put a big bow on the car and took a photo with my phone before I drove off, which was a fun touch.
I tried selling a truck on my own but what a pain!!! After a month of trying, I got an online offer from CarMax that was a good offer. Since I had 7 days to redeem, I also got offers from the other big names. Every other offer was thousands below CarMax. On the 7th day (Saturday) I went to CarMax with the truck. About an hour and a half later I left with check in hand for the difference between my loan payoff and their offer! No hassle at all. By Wednesday morning, the loan was paid off. I couldnt be happier with my decision to try them out and highly recommend them.
The process is streamlined, I got almost 2K more than from a competitor and got my check right away instead of having to wait over the weekend. They were even nice enough to retrieve some paperwork that I left behind and kept it secure for me until the next morning. Good stuff!!!
CarMax is super easy to work with and is no way like a regular car dealership where you spend hours and hours at trying to purchase a car. We worked with Chris at the Buford, GA, location and he was very knowledgeable about the car buying process. In fact, our first experience was so good that we went back to trade our truck in and get a second car. And it doesn’t end there…when our son came home on leave from the Navy, he bought a car from Chris. I highly recommend CarMax, but I recommend you find Chris in Buford if you want the Gold Star experience!
Very pleased with the service at both CarMax Buford and Norcross, Georgia. We purchased 2 family cars within a few days which could have been very difficult, but the staff eased the burden. All staff, especially our direct sales persons, were very kind, expedient and addressed all our questions. With my daughters car at Norcross we were concerned about the known transmission issues; the salesman went above and beyond to give us peace of mind, including giving us extra time to make a decision on the extended warranty to verify it had already been replaced. My only concern was the long search for my car, having to wait to transfer it from another state to Buford, and paying more that its truly worth. But I understand there are external forces in the used car market driving these conditions.
Me and my husband are so grateful with the salesman that greeted us at the door because we clearly stated that we were only looking in order to make up our minds and that we were not ready to buy anything that day, and he left us alone. We were able to walk around the lot for two hours with no one insisting us to buy anything. They have QR code in every car if you need more information and availability of the car, so that’s awesome, and they give you 30 days to try your car after purchase and that’s a plus. Some cars are closed due to COVID safety measures but we were lucky to find some cars open and we took a look inside. We think they should leave all cars open, that’s ridiculous. Everyone should be able to look inside and touch what they want under their own responsibility.
It was a very laid back, easy, and smooth process overall. I was a little nervous before arriving, but once you get set up with one of the employees, its a breeze. Wasnt rushed about any of it even tho it was a quick process. They take time to set down and go over everything with you & make sure you understand it. & I never felt pressured. Comfortable environment all around & very friendly people. I definitely will recommend this to anyone buying a used car.
This place is a joke. Worked with JOSE to get my truck appraised. Came in and he told me it would take about 30 minutes. So I wanted and an hour hose by and he comes and brings me my keys and tells me I can go home and he will text me and email me my appraisal. Waited all day for him to let me know how much my truck is worth. I called car max around 7:30pm trying to figure out why I haven’t got anything. They told me they where looking for JOSE and they couldn’t find him. They ended up giving me his number and I still have yet to get any response back. This makes me think they didn’t even look at my truck. Worst experience I’ve ever in countered at a dealership. Never will I go back to CarMax. What a wast of my time.

I bought my New Tahoe Lt here was very easy, saw it online had it delivered to this location I went and picked up. I didnt give it 5 stars because the service center doesnt answer the phone when I called, I left 11 (no exaggeration) messages for a return phone call and then had to go to the store to speak with someone regarding the issue only to be told that I would have to make an appointment for 1 month out!

The greeter was okay. The appraisal area sucks. That kid has no customer service. I understood that I had some issues with my title, that’s not why I got upset. I got upset by his demeanor. He didn’t care and seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Also when we were leaving he didn’t give me my keys back. He needs some education to n customer service.
Don’t buy a car from them! I bought a 2018 Chevy Trax from them and within less than 6 months, the air and heat went out in the car. 6 months from that, the check engine came on for the CATALYTIC CONVERTER needing to be replaced. When I got the car, it had higher mileage than advertised. They will sell you just anything and KNOW something is wrong with these cars, they just don’t care…

Very good offer. The only reason I would give 3 stars is the wait I had to go through, one of the employees forgot the info I had given him (Name, phone number, vehicle color), waited for 45 minutes only for him to come back and ask me that info again, I waited again for almost an hour for the appraisal. In total, I waited about an hour and a half to 2 hours.Apart from the wait, I was very pleased with the process of appraising the car and the following paperwork. Quick and easy paperwork.
Sales rep, Kevin was great! All other experiences, front desk rep and location manager, complete disaster.-Set an appointment. . .doesn’t matter. They don’t care. Not only do they not care, they verbally tell you they don’t care.-Try to express any feedback on how to improve their systems. . .they don’t care! They even tell you they don’t care.-In the middle of speaking with the location manager and would think he wouldn’t interrupt you to abruptly assist another customer and tell you to wait. . .Nah, he didn’t care and told me to “hold on”.1st experience at THIS CarMax will be my last. I’d rather travel to another location and work with people who are willing to work with their customers. Not try to bully them and dismiss them.The only reason they are getting one star is because of Kevin.Unbelievable.
I got an online offer for my truck and went in to sell my truck. It was easy and only took an hour or so to get it sold.
We went to six different locations in one day of CarMax and finally we ended up at your location. It was a very clean environment very courteous staff very professional and treated us better than we deserved having arrived at your location 30 minutes before closing and we couldnt test drive the car but we bought it anyway because of your 30-day guarantee. But still very happy with the vehicle to this day which is 2 months later

Tried to call to get info on a vehicle. Had to call multiple times...transferred to wrong place, disconnected, etc. Finally reached someone after 5 tries who said no one would go out to a vehicle to check something. Wanted to know if the car had any smoker smell before I drove over an hour to look at it...also wanted to confirm siriusxm status. Clearly this location is not interested in selling cars! Customer service at its worst!

Worst experience! Went in to look and possibly purchase a benz. Had it transferred, and then wanted to do a 24 hour test drive. Asked all sorts of questions, why do you want to test drive for 24 hours, why isn’t a normal test drive enough, you have to pull credit for this etc. I waited for another 15 mins, then manager “Barry” comes along, and he starts asking same questions with more aggressive tone. Why advertise the 24 hour test drive on front page if you want to ask basically can you purchase before driving the damn car? I ended up walking out and never walked back… ended up going to another dealer (not a carmax) had a way better experience. Do not go here, horrible way to treat a customer buying a expensive car. Definitely leave if you get Barry or guy with pony tail!
My appointment was at 2pm and i woke up late because working a 15hr shift and young white lady told me I have to wait 20 mins. Which I didnt mind, came back and she didnt put me down and had to wait another 20 mins. Came back to ask why it was taking a little longer and these 2 young men apologizes and told me to wait. Im getting mad becuase at the norcross location I didnt even wait that long to test drive a car. There was about 5 people just standing and walking around and telling me to wait.But Charlie walker saw me and quickly helped me. This guy needs a promotion. What an amazing young guy. That is what you call fast customer service.
This is my second Car from Carmax and I absolutely love it! My first one unfortunately it was totaled 12 days after I got it. Lucky I stayed in contact with the salesmen who sold me my first Jeep. Carmax is the place to go there really is no hassle and they treat everyone like family.

My first experience was great Chris sold me a car but the paper work was wrong and when I had to return it it was a horrible experience. Chris was on vacation the man I spoke with on the phone wasnt there so I was handed off to a rude insensitive man named Scott and a inexperienced rude girl named Jenny. They somehow got me to give back the car I bought only show me 2 that werent what I was wanting and then leave me and my 4 year old granddaughter sitting outside at 8:45 because they were closing and we had to sit there cars eat and all in the dark til a ride came at 10:00 I pray this doesnt happen to anyone else

I had the most horrible experience and customer service with CarMax in Duluth GA. I bought a Lexus from them. The car had tint on the front windshield. They (CarMax) who aren’t tinted professionals took it off well attempted to take it off. They didn’t even tell what was going on until after the fact. My car was dirty. They didn’t wash it or clean the sticky stuff left from them attempting to take the tint off the front windshield. They left a very sharp razor blade on the front passenger side floor. My salesperson Josheem wasn’t personable nor was he informative. I wanted to return my car based on the level of service I didn’t get and they (The manager Barry, and this other manager that I can’t remember his name, but I do remember him going on vacation to those island during the time I was taking my trip up north). lied once again and said that once I came back they would get my car straight. Here it is a week later and I’m here sitting waiting for them to take this sticky residue off my cars windshield. I made an appointment to have my windshield fixed at 1:30 on a Tuesday. I had to wait over an hour with my friend and her baby and I had to keep checking to see when enterprise would be here with a rental car since they didn’t have any loaner cars to give me. Of course, they arent going to check in with me. At this point, I don’t even like this car and I wish I’d given my money to another car dealership. They should’ve made sure my car was right before letting me drive it off of the lot and given me a loaner until my windshield was fixed. After they fix my windshield I will never deal with them again. I also canceled my oil change and I’ll take my car someplace else and give them my business.

Wanted to share our experience with Carmax in Buford. My husband and I have done business with them now three times, and will more than likely continue giving them our business. Everything that they do there runs like a very well oiled machine! I wanted to also take a moment to give my glowing review and recommendation for Andrew Smith. Hes helped us twice now purchase vehicles there. Hes literally so amazing. He not only had as much done behind the scenes for us as he could so we didnt have a long wait time when it was time to purchase, but he also scoured the country helping us find the perfect vehicle in the perfect color! It was transferred to the Buford location, and he called me personally to tell me when it arrived and how beautiful it was! He is so professional in how he handles everything, but at the same time is so friendly and outgoing! Hes an outstanding employee, and I am so thankful to have been given the chance to work with him again!

This Carmax has to be the WORST Carmax I have ever been too! Even the manager was not helpful at all! I regret all the time I wasted in there! I shouldn’t have purchased my car from here because they were absolutely ridiculous! The employees don’t know what they are doing. They typed in my information wrong numerous times! The manager needs to be fired for lying to me. They obviously didn’t want me to purchase my car from them and put all types of obstacles in my way that were EASY fixes! Please don’t buy a car from here! Or atleast go to another Carmax.

You offer a 24 hour test drive as an incentive to get consumers in the door. I mention that I am in the market for a car and would like to buy one within the next 6 months, and would also preferably like to sell my car as well. These statements automatically disqualify me as a consumer and I am no longer allowed to do a 24 hour test drive. I will not be recommending Carmax to anyone due to extremely misaligned incentives, and the fact that you don’t know how to treat customers well.

Jackson is amazing. To say my experience was smooth and flawless, it was not. I picked out a car online, filled out the paperwork and then drove an hour to “pick up” the car. Unfortunately when they brought the car out, the electronic panel did not work. It ultimately took about two weeks to have the car fixed, but Jackson did a great job of keeping me informed and eventually bending over backwards to get me in the car I loved. Thank you!❤️

It was a great experience working with CarMax folks. I went for appraising my car Audi S5 Sportback. The way the person welcomed and spent time explaining things in detail and exhibiting professional caring to customer is really awesome. After a week went back for selling the car, the way carried through the whole transaction was great. Since the car was on lease they had to coordinate with Audi Financial patiently for couple of hours and got the pay-off quote and explained each items to us was incredible.As a whole it a nice experience and I would recommend my friends & circle to have business with CarMax

We went there because the family needed a 3rd car. My experience was great, the experience went very smooth and completely stress free. The staff was friendly and consistent with that they said and did. My husband purchased several cars with the but it was my first tine buying a used car. They answered all my questions, made my questions regarding financing options, interest rates, down payment and warranties. My sales person was great I forgot her name but it stated with a S. She stayed focused and followed up in a timely manner, I’d defiantly purchase from them again.

Everything went a lot smoother than I expected, as my first time selling a car. The other co-signer lived in a different state, so CarMax helped me with Power of Attorney. They are awesome. I would only changed one thing, that would be when the sell is final and the draft check is handed over, they pop a party popper and say congrats. Overall, I would sell my next car to CarMax!

I visit carmax buford location on Monday, me and my husband was celebrating our anniversary, also want to get me a new car .the sales names Jorge, he was nice and professional, we almost made deal, but the guy names JAKE! I don’t know what’s wrong with him, he is unprofessional, and rude, he made mistakes on calculate my income,I don’t understand how comes he only put 30% of my income on the application? that’s why we can’t get the deal done.after that I was try to figure out why he do that, and he don’t have any explanation or apology, very bad attitude.it was absolutely the worst car shopping experience I have ever had!I’m so disappointed!

I have purchased two vehicles from Carmax in the past month. I am very satisfied. They do a really good job. One thing that needs attention is communication between the Customer Experience Center and the locations. I had to scan and upload my identification and other documents multiple times. Then when completing the loan paperwork several items that I had entered online had to be entered again at the location. It was like there was no connection between the online team and the local storesOtherwise it was very good and I will do it again

Have purchased many cars from CarMax and this was the first time the experience was not to par with previous experiences. The wait after selecting the vehicle was terrible due to the mistakes that occurred with the paperwork causing us to have to redo it several times.To add, after purchasing the vehicle we were called back to CarMax a second time and wait over two hours because again the documents were incorrectly completed. I was informed it would only take 30 mins.The vehicles were in dirty condition both in and out and I was then informed the car wash was broken so they could not clean it. The amount of scratches on the car that I found after finally washing it caused us to have to take it to detail which caused us another $400. I only kept the car because my wife liked it so much or else I would have returned it and purchased from another dealer.I choose CarMax only for the customer service experience, the quality of cars, and the no haggle concept and this experience was far from that.I also had to have it serviced less than 5 days after purchased because the wipers were making a loud knocking noise which should have been identified during the promoted full vehicle inspection which caused me another 1.5 hours of wasted time because when I showed up to my scheduled appointment there was no one there experienced to take care of service. Me and another woman had to wait for rental vehicles.Not a pleasant experience at all.Updated! The manager of the facility rectified the situation by living up to CarMax’s customer service best in class experience. Thank you for the follow up and most of all the follow through on the commitments.

Carmax sells bad used cars. period. bought a car from here and not even a week later was in the shop for transmission issues. Get it back almost 2 weeks later and it has the same problem. Go to them to change it for a new car and now this car has transmission issues as well. Tired of dealing with them, if you’re looking for a used car go to a dealership don’t ever try to deal with them. Horrible.

I placed a legitimate hold on a vehicle and your Buford Carmax Manager, Barry, said that he was deleting my hold to sell the car to another person because his employee meant to put it on hold but went to lunch instead. He offered me no alternative, but said, “We can cover the transfer fee up to $100.” He should have told the other person that and not me who had a legitimate hold. He was extremely rude and hung up in my face.
